The stock-marketâs ability to chug steadily higher despite uncertainty about how the economic recovery might shape up, and when the U.S. will bring the COVID-19 pandemic under control in all 50 states, is making some investors nervous.
The worry is that the marketâs gains are standing on a precarious foundation of support from fiscal and monetary policymakers, while waiting for consumer and business spending to recover.
Itâs not like the market has ignored those concerns. Itâs just that the massive Fed âputâ being as broad as it is, affecting more asset classes than they ever have, means investors can take comfort in the stimulus,â said Marvin Loh, senior global macro strategist for State Street.
Since the lockdowns of business and consumer activity to combat the coronavirus pandemic in early March, the Federal Reserveâs balance sheet has swelled to over $7 trillion through buying everything from U.S. Treasuries to corporate bonds and mortgage backed securities, providing a backstop for financial markets analogous to the insurance provided by the purchase of a put option by an investor.
In addition, the U.S. Congress approved the largest economic stimulus package in history which is forecast to increase the fiscal deficit to about $3.7 trillion or 18% of gross domestic product this year, according to the Congressional Budget Office.

Thatâs it, this insanity needs to be addressed.
Seattle is not a 3rd world country, enough is enough!
Seattleâs police union chief begged the city for âleadershipâ in the wake of a fatal shooting inside the cityâs âautonomous zoneâ known as âCHOPâ or âCapitol Hill Occupied Protest,â and laid into the cityâs mayor for ignoring the threat posed by the blocks-wide anarchist demonstration.
On Saturday one person was killed and another injured in an early morning shooting that followed a vocal disagreement among protesters.
Per the Seattle Times:Â âSeattle police homicide and assault detectives are investigating an early morning shooting in the Capitol Hill protest zone known as CHOP that left one person dead and another in critical condition,â the outlet reported. âSeattle police said a 19-year-old man was pronounced dead at Harborview Medical Center.
A second man suffered life-threatening injuries.
Police have not identified the victims.â
Seattle police were actively prevented from attending to the victim or investigating the crime. After responding to calls of a shooting inside CHOP, officers âwere met by a violent crowd that prevented officersâ safe access to the victims.â
Police body camera footage, the Seattle Times says, âshows a phalanx of armed officers, weapons drawn, being yelled at by protesters, many using profanities and several coming right up to the marching officers, as an officer using a bullhorn says, âPlease move out of the way so we can get to the victim! All we want to do is get to the victim!'â
[liberal]
The groupâs de facto leader, SoundCloud rapper Raz Simone seemed not to grasp the full meaning of a âpolice free zone,â taking to Twitter to lambaste emergency medical personnel who were unable to get past a screaming crowd of CHOP residents to attend to the gunshot victims.
âMedics refused to help even after people in the CHOP begged,â the rapper wrote on Twitter. âThey let our bro bleed out for 30 minutes until he died.â
No you absolute idiot, this is on youâ¦but you already know this.Â
Nothing more than a wolf among sheep.
Whatâs worse? The wolf has the sheep trained to fight the sheepdogs when they show up to help.
UNBELIEVABLE!

Wow, the young Ali certainly has his fatherâs fire!
In a recent interview, boxing icon Muhammad Aliâs son insisted that his father would have thought the Black Lives Matter movement is filled with âa bunch of devils.â
In the interview published by the New York Post, Muhamad Ali, Jr., said his father would not be a fan of BLM.Â
âMy father would have said, âThey ainât nothing but devils.â My father said, âall lives matter.â I donât think heâd agree (with BLM),â he insisted.
Ali also called the BLM movement a âracistâ scheme.
âI think itâs racist,â Ali said. âItâs not just black lives matter, white lives matter, Chinese lives matter, all lives matter, everybodyâs life matters.
God loves everyone â he never singled anyone out. Killing is wrong no matter who it is.
âItâs a racial statement,â Ali added. âItâs pitting black people against everyone else. It starts racial things to happen. I hate that.
Ali also praised President Donald Trump and even said he thinks his pugilist dad would have liked Trump.
âI think Trumpâs a good president. My father would have supported him. Trumpâs not a racist, heâs for all the people. Democrats are the ones who are racist and not for everybody,â he said. âThese [Democrat politicians] saying Black Lives Matter, who the hell are you to say that? Youâre not even black.â
Finally, Ali slammed the Democrat Party.
âDemocrats donât give a shit about anybody. Hillary Clinton doesnât give a shit; sheâs trying not to get locked up,â Ali concluded. âTrump is much better than Clinton and Obama. ⦠The only one to do what he said he would do is Donald Trump.â

Outer space frequent flyer miles?
If extraterrestrial civilizations exist, we may not have to go too far to find them.
A new study from researchers at the U.K.'s University of Nottingham suggests there are 36 planets in the Milky Way galaxy, a calculation the experts have dubbed "the Astrobiological Copernican Limit."
âThe classic method for estimating the number of intelligent civilizations relies on making guesses of values relating to life, whereby opinions about such matters vary quite substantially," the study's lead author, Tom Westby, said in a statement. "Our new study simplifies these assumptions using new data, giving us a solid estimate of the number of civilizations in our Galaxy."
âThere should be at least a few dozen active civilizations in our Galaxy under the assumption that it takes 5 billion years for intelligent life to form on other planets, as on Earth,â University of Nottingham professor Christopher Conselice added.
If such a civilization were to exist, the closest one would be 17,000 light-years away, which the researchers noted would make the ability to find and communicate with them "very difficult," given the state of our technology.
One light-year, which measures distance in space, is the equivalent to about 6 trillion miles.
Do you think alien kids also say, âare we there yet?â
