Deployment is years ahead of schedule. Plus: First hydrogen turbine tested, quantum physics mimics time travel, new battery coating slashes lithium needs. Israel will soon use a new laser weapon that engages incoming threats at light speed. Called Iron Beam, it will join combat duty to help defend against massive rocket attacks and drone swarms. Using fiber optics, Iron Beam shoots down incoming objects in seconds without scattering debris or running out of ammunition. As attacks from its neighbors mount, Israel has deployed Iron Beam in the field years ahead of schedule. This futuristic missile defense system suddenly makes a new era of laser weaponry a reality. 🏁 Also today, AI is here to stay, but where do you get started? Since 2007, Hamas has built over 1,300 tunnels in Gaza, some reaching depths of 30-40 meters, to protect their elements and conceal rocket batteries. Following the latest attack by Hamas, Israel is now focusing on dismantling Gaza's expansive tunnel network before initiating a ground operation. Iron Beam shoots down approaching rockets and drones with twin high-energy fiber optic laser beams. It is ready for action years ahead of the planned deployment date to stop increasing attacks. Iron Beam is cheaper and more effective than conventional missile defense systems. It can destroy multiple targets at once with unlimited laser shots. Iron Beam will join other Israeli air defenses against heavy barrage attacks. Israel also adapted the laser as Naval Iron Beam to protect ships from drone swarms. With the land version almost ready and threats growing, Israel is rushing Iron Beam to the field to test its laser defense capability.
