Plus: SpaceXâs massive Starship rocket could fly again in â6 to 8 weeksâ
Deep in space, 104 light years from Earth, a star is slowly â very slowly â transforming into a diamond. Itâs a process that will take a quadrillion years to complete. A team of astronomers meticulously calculated its distance and temperature using a 3D map of the Milky Way. In their paper, the team also suggested other stars may be slowly turing into diamonds across the Milky Way, some of which will be further along in the process. We've more on this in [your Must Read article]( below. But first, hereâs [your video of the day](. Good morning. Iâm Tim, an Editor at IE. This is the Blueprint. Letâs get into Fridayâs stories. MUST READ [Celestial diamond]( [Astronomers observe white dwarf star transforming into massive celestial diamond]( Astronomers have discovered a star, HD 190412 C, that is slowly transforming into an enormous diamond As white dwarf stars cool over time, they typically crystallize into massive diamonds, but this process takes an estimated quadrillion years, longer than the age of the universe. HD 190412 C is believed to be in the early stages of this transformation, making it a rare find. The star is located approximately 104 light-years away in a quadruple star system called HD 190412. The team used data from the [Gaia mission]( to model the star's cooling process and predict the evolution of other similar stars in the Milky Way.
