Plus: IBM’s Eagle quantum computer just beat a supercomputer at complex math Earlier this week, we reported on how Chinese researchers developed a [$1 adhesive coating]( that could resist attacks from laser weaponry. However, China is also willing to spend billions of dollars developing high-end equipment, such as their new hypersonic wind tunnel. Five years in the making, the JF-22 facility has a diameter of 13 feet (four meters) and can generate Mach 30 airflows. In comparison, the NASA’s Mach 10 wind tunnel has a diameter of 2.62 feet (0.8 m). This is part of the Chinese government’s plan to deploy a fleet of hypersonic civilian aircraft by the year 2035, but JF-22 will also see plenty of military research. MUST READ [JF-22 hypersonic wind tunnel]( [JF-22 in China is now the world's most powerful hypersonic wind tunnel]( China has achieved a significant breakthrough in hypersonic technology with the construction of the world's most powerful wind tunnel at the Institute of Mechanics facility in Beijing. The JF-22 wind tunnel uses precisely timed explosions to create shock waves that converge at a single point. This method not only saves energy but also allows specialized air flows for testing various vehicles and materials. Wind tunnel testing plays a vital role in identifying design flaws and potential failures before the construction of full-scale prototypes. The JF-22 facility is strategically located alongside the JF-12 wind tunnel, further enhancing China's expertise in the hypersonic domain. Flesch reading score

Flesch reading score measures how complex a text is. The lower the score, the more difficult the text is to read. The Flesch readability score uses the average length of your sentences (measured by the number of words) and the average number of syllables per word in an equation to calculate the reading ease. Text with a very high Flesch reading ease score (about 100) is straightforward and easy to read, with short sentences and no words of more than two syllables. Usually, a reading ease score of 60-70 is considered acceptable/normal for web copy.
