Back in March, we reported that the US Food and Drug Administration (FDA) [denied Neuralink permission]( to begin human trials. Neuralink have now claimed, via Twitter, that the FDA have changed their mind and granted “approval to launch our first-in-human clinical study,” However, the FDA is yet to comment on this. Neuralink has also faced accusations of animal abuse and flouting biohazard rules, with US lawmakers urging regulators to investigate the company's animal testing practices. Despite these controversies, Neuralink aims to cure a range of diseases and restore vision and movement by connecting brains to computers.
