Plus: New MIT method uses 2D materials to âcatch upâ with Moore's Law. Jan 27, 2023
[Blueprint]( Unleash the Mayhem. This year, [US hypersonic missile âMayhemâ is set to be formally deployed](. Itâs a hypersonic air-breathing system that can perform both strike and intelligence, Surveillance, and Reconnaissance (IRS) missions, with a larger payload capacity than the AGM-183A Air-launched Rapid Response Weapon (ARRW). So, itâs quite aptly named. But before you start pondering about what exactly theyâre going to do with all that Mayhem, ponder over [this video](. It shows why an expert doubts hydrogenâs potential to combat the climate crisis. Which isnât ideal, really. Good morning. Iâm Alice, an Editor at IE. This is The Blueprint. Letâs get started. In an attempt to alleviate hunger in the country and combat food waste, a Brazilian app has been trying to reduce these problems using geolocation technology. The main objective of the Invisible Food application is to connect those who have food to donate with those in need. [Must Read]MUST READ [US hypersonic missile 'Mayhem' gets a boost from Kratos.]( [US hypersonic missile 'Mayhem' gets a boost from Kratos.]( The Defense & Rocket System Services (DRSS) Division of Kratos Defense & Security Solutions (a leading provider of national security solutions) has said that, [alongside Kratos' Unmanned Systems Division, it has been given a contract by Leidos]( to support the Expendable Hypersonic Multi-Mission ISR (Intelligence, Surveillance, and Reconnaissance) and Strike Program, also known as âMayhem.â The aim of the project is to develop a hypersonic air-breathing system that can perform both strike and intelligence, Surveillance, and Reconnaissance (IRS) missions and has a larger payload capacity than the AGM-183A Air-launched Rapid Response Weapon (ARRW). This will improve the USAF's ability to attack targets from a distance, making it possible to attack well-defended targets. And they think it will be formally deployed this year. The program is (understandably) pretty hush-hush, but we know that it plans to develop the Hypersonic Air-breathing Weapon Concept (HAWC), among other things, for the Defense Advanced Research Projects Agency (DARPA.) â Leidos will use digital and model-based systems engineering. This fits with an Air Force strategy that gives digital engineering a higher priority in weapon development to speed up development and make designs more accurate. One possible solution comes in the form of 2D materials, also known as single-layer materials. These incredibly delicate two-dimensional sheets of perfect crystals are only a single atom thin. Crucially, at the nanometer scale, they can conduct electrons far more efficiently than silicon. Now, [a team of MIT engineers believes it has cracked a way to engineer the materials]( on industry-standard silicon wafers. In doing so, they may have overcome the key obstacle described by Moore's Law. The crew capsule now features another seat and can carry one more NASA astronaut than was originally intended, a NASA blog post reveals. The space agency modified the Dragon Endeavor capsule as a potential emergency measure after a Russian Soyuz rocket, MS-22, lost its coolant in orbit last month. ED medications, such as Viagra, Cialis, and Levitra, work by increasing blood flow to the penis. They do this by inhibiting an enzyme called phosphodiesterase type 5 (PDE5), which can interfere with the chemical signals responsible for relaxing the smooth muscles in the penis, allowing blood to flow in, and causing an erection.
