Plus: First multi-storey 3D printed building of U.S. rises up in Texas. Jan 14, 2023
[Blueprint]( Elon Musk has officially [set a new record]( for the largest loss of personal fortune in history. Forbes estimates that Musk has lost around $182 billion since November 2021, but others estimate the number to be closer to $200 billion. This surpasses the previous record of $58.6 billion set by a Japanese tech investor Masayoshi Son in 2000. The significant drop in Musk's net worth, from a peak of $320 billion in 2021 to $138 billion in January 2023, is primarily attributed to the decline in Tesla's stock. Before getting into that, [letâs explore]( how engineers launched a rocket engine with a Christmas tree attached to it. Good morning. Iâm Mert, an Editor at IE. This is The Blueprint. Letâs dive in. Last Sunday, Blueprint subscribers heard from the people behind the largest aircraft engine in the world. Don't miss out â[subscribe to IE+]( to receive exclusive interviews, features, and much more. But the man surely did it in style as he set a Guinness World Record and lost an estimated [$182 billion of personal fortune]( the record-keeping website confirmed. It surely wasn't that Musk set out to achieve such a feat by the time 2022 was over. But the CEO of Tesla, who had a terrific 2021, could only be happy that 2022 was over. Ever since Musk announced in April 2022 that he was looking to acquire Twitter, Tesla stocks began to slide, something that continues to date. Since much of Musk's wealth is tied to the Tesla stock, his riches have also disappeared. Estimates from Forbes suggest that Musk's wealth has shrunk by $182 billion since November 2021, but others estimate the number to be closer to $200 billion. [HANNAH]( Peri 3D Construction, and Cive, a firm that specializes in construction engineering, will be working together on the project for two years. As stated by HANNAH, the 4,000-square-foot project serves as an example of mass customization, 3D printing technology, and design methods that incorporate traditional building techniques. The project will take place in Houston, Texas, and is predicted to take a total of 330 hours of printing, said architect Leslie Lok, co-founder of design studio HANNAH. The latest analysis shows a range of organic matter, revealing that the asteroid was once part of a larger space rock where liquid water was once present. The research shows how the Winchcombe meteorite may have once had access to all the materials required for the building blocks of life. The organic matter it holds only requires water for a chemical reaction to occur that would convert molecules into amino acids and proteins. A new study from Washington University School of Medicine in St. Louis [reveals a possible factor]( that could be contributing to these deaths. The study authors suggest that hospitalized patients themselves unknowingly act as sources of harmful bacteria. Some patients might never know it, but it is possible some deadly bacteria are hiding inside their bodies and just waiting for something to trigger their activity. Such bacteria donât cause any harm to healthy individuals but often lead to life-threatening infections in their hosts and other hospitalized patients.
