Plus: Skip Zoom? Holographic tech allows you to 'beam' into your next meeting. Jan 12, 2023 [Blueprint]( [I can tell if you’re clever just by looking at you](. Well… that is to say that scientists can, thanks to a new study, which provides one of the most in-depth views of how different brain regions and neural networks affect a person's general intelligence. To the uninitiated, this is essentially your ability to solve problems in various situations. The theory at play here is that intelligence is the byproduct of the brain's global architecture and the interplay of both strong and weak connections. So, by looking at your brain, they can see how smart you are. But before you start wondering what exactly your brain says about you, gaze in wonderment at this. [This video]( shows an AI-powered baby stroller that offers intelligent braking and hands-free strolling. Now that’s smart. Good morning. I’m Alice, an Editor at IE. This is The Blueprint. Let’s dive in. Last Sunday, Blueprint subscribers heard from the people behind the largest aircraft engine in the world. The scientists in question looked to the biological foundations of cognitive abilities in the brain, and used “connectome-based predictive modeling” to compare five theories describing how the brain generates intelligence. They have put together an algorithm that measures intelligence by looking at a brain scan. Their goal was to understand how our ability to solve problems is made possible by the information-processing architecture of the brain. → The study consisted of a diverse group of 297 undergrad students, who completed a series of general intelligence tests that gauged their problem-solving abilities and how well they could adapt to different situations. Each participant then underwent an fMRI resting-state scan of their brain. [READ MORE [Arrow]]( [Facebook]( [SCIENCE]SCIENCE [Skip Zoom? Because now, a[new holographic technology]( is making waves to bridge the gap between the real and virtual worlds. It means people from all walks of life are beaming themselves into meetings in real-time from anywhere in the world, like in Star Wars or Avatar. The original, patented hologram device from Proto M has just been announced as a CES 2023 Innovation Awards Honoree in the Digital Health category. And they won it last year too. It does this through a process known as artificial photosynthesis. This represents a major breakthrough, because it is nearly ten times more efficient than previous solar water-splitting experiments. It is believed that, eventually, artificial photosynthesis devices will be much more efficient than natural photosynthesis, which will provide a path toward carbon neutrality. Flesch reading score

Flesch reading score measures how complex a text is. The lower the score, the more difficult the text is to read. The Flesch readability score uses the average length of your sentences (measured by the number of words) and the average number of syllables per word in an equation to calculate the reading ease. Text with a very high Flesch reading ease score (about 100) is straightforward and easy to read, with short sentences and no words of more than two syllables. Usually, a reading ease score of 60-70 is considered acceptable/normal for web copy.
