Plus: 28,000-year-old well-preserved lion cub discovered in Siberia. Jan 07, 2023 [Blueprint]( While we’ve been busy thinking about if artificial intelligence (AI) has gone too far, it has made inroads into various fields. And now, it is appearing in courts… Next month, an AI program from DoNotPay will assist a defendant in contesting his case in a U.S. court for the first time. Instead of addressing the court, the program will provide advice to the defendant through an earpiece. Since this is the very first case of the AI program being used, DoNotPay is ready to take on the burden of punishment if the advice does not help the client. But first, let’s have a look at our video of the day and see how Saudi Arabia is turning its desert into arable land. Good morning. I’m Mert, an Editor at IE. This is The Blueprint. Let’s get started. Last Sunday, Blueprint subscribers heard from the people behind the largest aircraft engine in the world. Instead of addressing the court, the program, which will run on a smartphone, will supply appropriate responses through an earpiece to the defendant, who can then use them in the courtroom. In the past few years, AI has burst onto the scene like never before, writing poetry, computer code, and even college essays at the drop of a hat. With every new iteration of the programs being released, the capabilities of the bots have been rising, and of late, AI has entered the art scene as well. In a new development, a company, DoNotPay, which has been training AI, has now claimed that its program will be able to defend a speeding case that is due to be heard in a U.S. court in February 2023. Identities of the individual and the court remain under wraps, but we do know that the defendant is contesting a speeding ticket.
