Plus: Potatoes and tomatoes could hold the secret to new cancer drugs. Dec 09, 2022 [Blueprint]( Swift as an arrow… [or in this case, an ARRW](. And it really is swift. ARRW, the United States' first hypersonic missile, is almost ready for operational status. It’s expected to be complete and ready for deployment as early as fall 2023, and can travel at a maximum speed of almost 15,000 mph (24,000 km/h; Mach 20). I told you it was swift. But before you take a peek at that trajectory, cast your eyes over something of a more downhill nature. [This video]( shows the story of the iconic clean energy plant with its own ski slope. Good morning. I’m Alice, an Editor at IE. This is The Blueprint. Let’s dive in. Last Sunday, Blueprint subscribers had scientists’ insights from the developers of bioengineered plants, and how they can clean the air in your house. This week, they’ll hear from the Head of System Development Future Brake Systems at Continental about what he believes to be a game-changing development. In fact, the Air-Launched Rapid Response Weapon (ARRW) is expected to be complete and ready for deployment as early as fall 2023. The AGM-183 ARRW is a hypersonic air-to-ground missile with a rocket motor. It can travel at a maximum speed of almost 15,000 mph (24,000 km/h; Mach 20) and uses a boost-glide mechanism, by which a rocket is mounted to accelerate it to a hypersonic speed before it “glides” toward its target. → The U.S. Air Force granted Lockheed Martin a $480 million contract in August 2018 to develop an air-launched hypersonic weapon. In June 2019, the AGM-183A ARRW underwent its initial captive carry flight test onboard a B-52 of the United States Air Force. So, in search of solutions with fewer adverse effects, [researchers have examined glycoalkaloids]( which are the bioactive substances found in many vegetables, such as potatoes and tomatoes. The research team worked on five glycoalkaloids – solanine, chaconine, solasonine, solamargine, and tomatine. All of which you find in crude extracts of the Solanaceae plant family, also known as nightshades. Flesch reading score

Flesch reading score measures how complex a text is. The lower the score, the more difficult the text is to read. The Flesch readability score uses the average length of your sentences (measured by the number of words) and the average number of syllables per word in an equation to calculate the reading ease. Text with a very high Flesch reading ease score (about 100) is straightforward and easy to read, with short sentences and no words of more than two syllables. Usually, a reading ease score of 60-70 is considered acceptable/normal for web copy.
