Plus: Musk says Starlink will be activated in Iran Sep 24, 2022 [Blueprint]( Researchers in Italy claim to have built Europe's first house powered by hydrogen fuel cells. This solution was developed by scientists at the University of Sannio in southern Italy in collaboration with private companies. The energy crisis and climate change are forcing European institutions to find ways to reduce their use of fossil fuels and reduce carbon dioxide (CO2) emissions. And this newly engineered house hits both marks. The Benevento building is a student house as well as a living laboratory - a real-life experiment to assess the benefits and limitations of these technologies for future homes and offices. Speaking of energy, let’s first have a look at this video of a sand battery that may just change the energy game. Good morning. I’m Loukia, an Editor at IE. This is The Blueprint. Let’s dive in. Last Sunday, Blueprint subscribers had an exclusive insight from Steve Komadina, the DARPA program manager for ANCILLARY, about the development of the new military vertical-takeoff aircraft from the U.S. Defense Agency. This week, they’ll hear from Roxana Bujack on how researchers uncovered a 100-year-old math error, and what they’re going to do with the findings. The Benevento building is a student house as well as a living laboratory - a real-life experiment to assess the benefits and limitations of these technologies for future homes and offices. According to the team at the University of Sannio, the hydrogen-powered fuel cells generate the electricity and heating required to meet the building's needs. The building generates renewable energy from solar and geothermal sources, earning it the title of "zero-emission building." The laptop is upgradeable and customizable by the same company that released the Framework laptop last year. In most instances, it is hard to find a user-upgradeable laptop, but any kind of Chromebook that can be upgraded by the user is practically unheard of. The consumer base for such a product remains a mystery. This is very much a positive move for the ailing Chromebook. Just in reparability, this idea makes sense in the laptop space overall. Flesch reading score measures how complex a text is. The lower the score, the more difficult the text is to read. The Flesch readability score uses the average length of your sentences (measured by the number of words) and the average number of syllables per word in an equation to calculate the reading ease. Text with a very high Flesch reading ease score (about 100) is straightforward and easy to read, with short sentences and no words of more than two syllables. Usually, a reading ease score of 60-70 is considered acceptable/normal for web copy.
