Plus: DeFi protocols lose almost $1bn in crypto to North Korea-linked hackers. Oct 01, 2022 [Blueprint]( The James Webb satellite may be stealing all the headlines at the moment, but letâs not forget about the Hubble Space Telescope, which [has really come up trumps this week](. As though in a show of defiance, the Hubble Space Telescope, NASAâs iconic photographer of deep space, has captured two distant spiral galaxies overlapping â the images are nothing short of incredible. But hereâs the thing: the two galaxies in question arenât actually overlapping â in fact theyâre millions of light years apart. Oh, and theyâre over a billion light-years from Earth, which is fairly cool. Before you check that out, though, [watch this video]( of cops using copyrighted music to block videos. Itâs certainly novel, Iâll give it that. Good morning. Iâm Alice, an Editor at IE. This is The Blueprint. Letâs get started. Last Sunday, Blueprint subscribers had an exclusive insight from Ryan Harne, one of the lead researchers on the recent development of the material that can âthink and feel.â This week, theyâll hear from Steve Komadina, the DARPA program manager for ANCILLARY, about the development of the new military vertical-takeoff aircraft from the U.S. Defense Agency. Don't miss out â [subscribe to IE+ today]( to receive exclusive interviews, features, and much more. Theyâre not, though â far from it, in fact, as theyâre millions of light years apart. The galaxies, which are named SDSS J115331 and LEDA 2073461 (try saying that fast), are over a billion light-years from Earth, which makes the image fairly jaw-dropping. And to accompany this wondrous image, the Hubble Space Telescope has also sent back some incredible new images of stars â some young, some old, all stunning. â This photo, which the European Space Agency shared, was created using observations from the space agency Galaxy Zoo project. This is a citizen science-based initiative that began in 2007, with the aim of crowdsourcing the classification of galaxies to hundreds of thousands of volunteers. And it seems to be working quite well.
