A massive asteroid is traveling toward Earth at 20 miles a second Aug 05, 2022 [Blueprint]( Is it a bird? Is it a plane? Is it part of the Chinese rocket that crashed its way to Earth last week? So far, nobody knows. But what we do know, is that a mysterious metal orb crash-landed in Mexico on Sunday. Eyewitnesses described [the dramatic crash]( landing as “noisy , but not on fire.” A well-known local meteorologist said it’s made of “a very hard plastic or an alloy of various metals”. The truth is out there, people. But before you book your tickets to South America in pursuit of the aforementioned truth, take a moment for something slightly more… childish. Because [this video]( shows a Nerf gun that fires balls at up to 70 mph (112 km/h). Why? Not sure. Cool though! Good morning. I’m Alice, an Editor at IE. This is The Blueprint. Let’s dive in. Last Sunday, Blueprint subscribers heard scientists reacting to the (ever-developing) brilliance of the James Webb Space Telescope. And in this week's premium edition, we talk to the world’s leading experts about whether – and when – we will face another mass extinction. [Must Read]MUST READ [A mysterious metallic orb that might hold valuable information was found in Mexico.]( [Mysterious metal orb.]( Last Monday, the (now fairly infamous) out-of-control Chinese rocket crash-landed into the Indian Ocean. And it has been suggested that this [mysterious metal orb]( is something to do with that. But… is it, really? It’s made of “a very hard plastic or an alloy of various metals” according to a well-known local meteorologist. And – intriguingly – he also said there’s a code on the outside of it, but no slit or hole to help you open it. He thought it might have a timing mechanism, though, which just adds to the excitement of the whole thing. He’s warned people not to touch or try to open it, as it may be radioactive. But honestly, if it is nothing to do with the Chinese rocket and has in fact come from space, I’d say radioactivity is the very least of their worries. → A specialized team from the Mexican Navy or the Secretary of National Defense has been called in to examine it. So, let’s see what they have to say about it. (I man, let’s hope they do say something about it and don’t just cart it off to Area 51). Text with a very high Flesch reading ease score (about 100) is straightforward and easy to read, with short sentences and no words of more than two syllables. Usually, a reading ease score of 60-70 is considered acceptable/normal for web copy.
