Mar 26, 2022 [View in browser]( One week after Russia warned that Ukrainian mines were heading towards the Mediterranean Sea, a stray naval mine has been found floating near Istanbul. Following the discovery of the object, marine traffic in the Bosphorus of Istanbul was suspended for almost six hours. On the other hand, the sanctions implemented on Russia have affected the countryâs aviation industry. Letâs see how in this video. Good morning. Iâm Mert, an editor at IE. This is The Blueprint. Letâs get started. [Video]VIDEO OF THE DAY [Watch the colossal aviation industry changes amid sanctions against Russia]( The headwinds of the sanctions are battering global aviation. [Watch the colossal aviation industry changes amid sanctions against Russia]( CULTURE [Mine panic in Turkey: Have mines from the Russian war drifted to the Bosphorus?]( [naval mine]( On Monday, Russia's main intelligence agency claimed that several hundred Ukrainian mines had drifted into the Black Sea after breaking off from their supporting cables, according to [Reuters](. Ukraine then responded by saying that the claims were simply disinformation and an attempt to close off parts of the sea. Now, [Turkey has spotted a mine floating north of Istanbul]( near the Black Sea making Russia the winner in this game of "he said, she said." - Who was right? On Saturday the Turkish Ministry of National Defense shared a warning on Twitter asking vessels to steer clear as a dive team inspected a "mine-like object" found floating north of Istanbul near the Black Sea. [Turkey's defense ministry further said]( on Twitter that it had captured the object and was now in the process of deactivating it. The object was first spotted near a docking area in the upper Bosphorus strait by fishermen. They then proceeded to report it to the Coast Guard, the Directorate General of Coastal Safety told Reuters. The incident is alarming as the number of mines speculated to be floating around by Russian authorities is significant (420). Will any of these explode in a non-warring territory? Called the Spectro-Photometer for the History of the Universe, Epoch of Reionization and Ices Explorer, or SPHEREx for short, this new cosmic mapmaker will have some similarities to the James Webb Telescope but will have some very important differences. - At present, [SPHEREx]( is scheduled for launch no later than April 2025, and its primary mission will be to look for clues of what happened within the first few seconds after the "Big Bang". It will also collect data on how galaxies form and evolve, and look at molecules critical to life like water. Plans have been finalized. All of this will require the latest cutting-edge technologies, plans for which have now been finalized by NASA. "We're at the transition from doing things with computer models to doing things with real hardware," explained Allen Farrington, SPHEREx project manager at NASA's Jet Propulsion Laboratory in Southern California, who will be managing the SPHEREx mission. "The design for the spacecraft, as it stands, is confirmed. We have shown that it's doable down to the smallest details. So now we can really start building and putting things together."
