[Open in browser]( Institute for Mathematics & Computer Science March 14…3/14…3.14…π The countdown is on. Pi Day is one week from today! At IMACS, we believe that mathematics is more than just a subject to study in school. It's a way of thinking that helps us understand and solve complex problems in our world. That's why we're excited to celebrate Pi Day on March 14th, a day dedicated to honoring the mathematical constant π (pi). Whether you're a math enthusiast or simply appreciate the wonders of the universe, we invite you to join us in the celebration! Here are a few things the staff at IMACS plans to do: - Make chicken pot pie for dinner – because who doesn't love a good pun? - Run 3.14 miles – a fun way to incorporate math into your exercise routine. - Eat pie for lunch – because, of course, it wouldn't be Pi Day without pie! - Walk around in circles for 3 minutes and 14 seconds – a silly way to demonstrate the concept of pi. We want to hear from you! How will you celebrate Pi Day? Whether you're planning a pi-themed party, baking a delicious pie, or simply enjoying the day with friends and family, we'd love to know.
