Toplines so you don’t have to watch. [Josh Harder for Congress]( {NAME}, Did you watch Ron DeSantis and Elon Musk today? Honestly, I hope for your sake you skipped it. Unfortunately I don’t have that luxury, so here’s what you missed: DeSantis is running for president (duh). And there were major technical issues (sort of expected with Twitter these days?). The announcement felt to me like he’s doing a “Trump-lite” impression. Racism? Check. Absurd stunts to grab headlines? Check. Clear policy ideas that will help our country? Not so much. No one actually thinks banning books is a good idea. But it grabs headlines and lets him seem like a true conservative warrior (ignore the hypocrisy of preaching about free speech…). Then there’s even more sinister policies. In Florida he instituted one of the most extreme abortion bans in the country, at only 6 weeks. Millions of women no longer have access to reproductive healthcare in order for DeSantis to prove to extreme-right donors he’s on their side. It’s political greed at its worst. I truly hope for our country that his candidacy flames out. Trump is bad enough - we don’t need more ambitious politicians trying to replicate his temperament and corruption. Ultimately, whomever is the Republican nominee, I stand ready to do my part to help Democrats fight back. That’s why winning my race is such a top priority - we have to win this seat in order to take back the House. If Biden wins, we need to pry the gavel from McCarthy’s hands in order to pass meaningful legislation on guns, climate, you name it. If Biden loses, we sure as heck need to make sure we have control of Congress to stop whatever crazy stuff comes out of the White House. That’s why I hope you’ll consider chipping in to support my campaign today. Here’s the [link](. It’s days like today that remind me as bad as we think it is now, it can get a whole lot worse. We cannot let up now in the fight. Hope you and your family have a lovely evening, Josh --------------------------------------------------------------- You are receiving this email because Congressman Josh Harder is one of our last lines of defense to protect our democracy against MAGA extremists like Donald Trump, Kevin McCarthy and Marjorie Taylor Greene.
