/w5S2BciCtNCDzrgJdOa5bUPwfO23abHl1TpSNOaYvb0=?refcode=E1265-20200214-ParklandNA-header&amount=10 {NAME}, Two years ago today, a senseless act of violence ravaged Parkland, Florida community. In just six minutes, a shooter with an AR-15 assault weapon killed 17 students and staff members and injured 17 more in the deadliest school shooting in American history. Like shootings in Las Vegas, Sandy Hook, and Columbine, it rocked the nation and shook us to our core. How could we continue to allow this to happen in America? When would our political leaders find some courage to act and pass gun safety reforms? These are some of the questions I asked myself as a Congressional candidate at the time. I’m sure you, your family, and your friends asked some of the same questions. In the past two years, we have begun to try to answer those questions. Since my election to Congress, our Democratic majority has passed historic gun safety reforms -- including universal background checks -- that are sitting on Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell’s desk, waiting for a vote in the Senate. We also secured $25 million in dedicated funding for federal gun violence prevention research for the first time in 20 years. And thankfully, McConnell didn’t stop that from going through. Our fight for common-sense gun safety reforms in Washington is just getting started -- we have to keep our kids safe. Today, my heart and my prayers go out to everyone in Parkland, and all victims and survivors of gun violence and their families. We simply have to do better as a nation. -- Josh Harder [DONATE](/w5S2BciCtNCDzrgJdOa5bUPwfO23abHl1TpSNOaYvb0=?refcode=E1265-20200214-ParklandNA-footer&amount=10) Paid For By Harder for Congress [unsubscribe](/xidN1yYiTR3OW34jfaJJN7wt-HDZbPtiVEjjAtnWuuQ=) Harder for Congress PO Box 4426 Modesto CA 95352 United States
