and he thinks he can take on dictators!? [Hank Johnson for Congress]( {NAME}, Ron DeSantis has decided he’s done ruining Florida. Now he wants to ruin the entire country. That is, if Elon can get Twitter to work long enough for DeSantis to announce his candidacy. [The 2024 Presidential race could come down to Georgia. Chip in to help us keep Georgia ridin’ with Biden →]( [DONATE NOW »]( Even though DeSantis still hasn't made his Twitter Spaces announcement, he filed paperwork today to run for President — surprising exactly no one. The fact that he tried to make the announcement with Elon Musk on Twitter is just too perfect. He chose a crumbling social media platform on which to declare his craven candidacy. The Twitter Spaces event kept crashing for 21 minutes until the event came to an abrupt end before anyone could even hear from the candidate himself — the PERFECT metaphor for DeSantis' political ambitions. DeSantis wants to be the commander in chief. Can you imagine Ron DeSantis trying to stand up to dictators? He can’t even vanquish Mickey Mouse, and he thinks he can go toe-to-toe with Putin? Mickey and Donald (Trump, not Duck) are taking DeSantis to the cleaners. Ron’s poll numbers are almost as low as Mike Pence’s. The most recent poll from last week has DeSantis trailing Trump 58-16. FiveThirtyEight’s polling average has DeSantis way behind and falling fast. Sad! {NAME}, we could spend all day piling on DeSantis, but the truth is this: The frontrunner for the Republican nomination is in so much legal hot water that cable news hosts don’t know which court case to focus on. Hush money? Classified documents? Insurrection? Sexual assault? And the man in distant second likes to feel good about himself by bullying Florida women, children, LGBTQ+ people, and immigrants. We CANNOT let either of these clowns get to the White House. And {NAME}, the battle for the presidency could very well come down to Georgia. I’m committed to supporting President Biden and doing everything in my power to keep Georgia blue.
