One year ago today, the U.S. Supreme Court overturned Roe v. Wade. [Hank Johnson for Congress]( It's only been a year, {NAME}. In one year, Republican state governments all over the country have begun systematically disassembling reproductive freedom — including right here in Georgia. One year ago today, the U.S. Supreme Court overturned Roe v. Wade, overturning a half century of precedent and revoking the federal guarantee of reproductive rights. The opinion issued by Justice Alito in Dobbs v. Jackson Women's Health Organization — the case that struck down Roe — was a sexist, classist, and racist hodgepodge of legal misinterpretations glued together with ultraconservative ideology. Alito could hardly contain the glee he felt in finally completing the task that his Federalist Society masters sent him to the Supreme Court to accomplish. Now, people all over the country are hurting. Abortion bans meant to control women are popping up in red states everywhere. Americans are being forced into carrying pregnancies to term. Some are dying, unable to access the care they need. [If you believe in reproductive rights, if you think that women should have bodily autonomy, if you are appalled by what you're seeing in the news about Draconian abortion bans, please join me in pledging to continue the fight for reproductive freedom →]( [ADD YOUR NAME »]( Thank you, {NAME}.
