[We could help lower-income Georgians, if only the GA GOP gave a damn.](/GxCBrUJTbspx_dWhOPk_dv2hIpIs-hEhVfvX6EW0EvA=?refcode=E20686-20230322-NCMedicaidExpansion-header-Healthcare-RegTemplate-GA-NA&amount=10) {NAME}: North Carolina is about to enact Medicaid expansion. The state was one of eleven remaining holdouts who refused to adopt the Medicaid expansion from the Affordable Care Act — life-saving funds for millions of Americans who are otherwise unable to afford medical care. Now there are only 10 holdout states left. And Georgia is one of them.. We don’t usually like taking our cues from North Carolina. But in this case, we’re left looking at our neighbor to the north and wondering: Why can’t that be us? So we’re starting a petition demanding that the Georgia General Assembly and Governor Kemp immediately act to adopt the long overdue Medicaid expansion program in Georgia. [And we’re hoping you’ll take a second to add your name, {NAME}.](/7pBeVHAV6V0qNV1i0KEqCJnVxYcp8s9J8_L9LvIo-BQ=) [SIGN THE PETITION](/7pBeVHAV6V0qNV1i0KEqCJnVxYcp8s9J8_L9LvIo-BQ=) This isn’t some liberal idea taking hold in North Carolina. Republicans still control both chambers of that state’s legislature. And it’s not like Democrats had just enough converts to push through Medicaid expansion with a few Republican defectors. The bill to expand Medicaid eligibility initially passed North Carolina’s Republican-controlled House 92-22, and then it passed North Carolina’s Republican-controlled Senate 44-2. Now it’s our turn. [So please, {NAME} — will you add your name to our petition demanding that Georgia’s state government finally look out for the health and well-being of Georgians?](/7pBeVHAV6V0qNV1i0KEqCJnVxYcp8s9J8_L9LvIo-BQ=) [ADD YOUR NAME](/7pBeVHAV6V0qNV1i0KEqCJnVxYcp8s9J8_L9LvIo-BQ=) – GA-04 Democrats --------------------------------------------------------------- [Hank Johnson Facebook Icon](/w4Fh6ayFMdFoSBuXuXq_2CxqKjMNXnp7-ovbOCD3JqM=) [Hank Johnson Twitter Icon](/RwcwRFCiC-HKMlgw_uQWkpi3re-4rnZTBYRqpK4AgHE=) [Hank Johnson Instagram Icon](/ZfAVHIW3A-0O2QZCUgviYSYuGJ99ApIJBIcv5bc7TGY=) /GxCBrUJTbspx_dWhOPk_dv2hIpIs-hEhVfvX6EW0EvA=?refcode=E20686-20230322-NCMedicaidExpansion-footer1-Healthcare-RegTemplate-GA-NA&amount=10 Congressman Hank Johnson is a former defense attorney, DeKalb County commissioner, small business owner, and magistrate judge who now serves in Congress as a champion for the middle class.
