[View this email in your browser]( Konya Yatak (#25537) The Thomas Edwards Borjalou Kazak (#25510) Grote-Hasenbalg type prayer rug (#24029) Small colourful camel ground Baluch rug (#24161) Peter Pap Oriental Rugs, Inc. hosts the opening of its exhibition and sale of rugs from private collections (part two) on 29 September 2023 at 5pm. An exceptional jazz quartet will introduce an evening filled with woven delights. Please [RSVP](mailto:peter@peterpap.com) if you plan on attending. Featured in the exhibition will be the remainder of the late Dr Charles Whitfield’s collection, including his exceptional group of Baluch rugs. Some of these are well-known as published pieces and many others will be considered new finds. The gallery will also be offering rugs and classical fragments from the collection of the late Dirck Bass of Guernville, California. Rugs from the collection of Thomas Edwards of Rhonert Park, CA are another outstanding addition. As with all the other offerings these rugs are new to the market, and some were in a landmark exhibition, 'Tribal Visions' that took place in Marin County, CA in 1980. The most significant piece on offer is a mid-19th-century Borjalou Kazak which graces the back cover of the catalogue. This piece is so important that when renowned dealer Eberhart Hermann published a related rug in his 1983 catalogue, he made reference to this one. More rugs and textiles from the collection of Mary and the Late Michael Wirth include a wonderful 19th-century Chinese robe. Also on offer will be a small group of Navajo transitional blankets and rugs from the collection of Robert Casper of Bodega Bay, CA. If you are unable to attend in person, the entire exhibition will shown in a special section on the Peter Pap Oriental Rugs, Inc. website in a special section. The exhibition will be online beginning 29 September and available for purchase from 6pm EST that day. [Email Peter Pap](mailto:peter@peterpap.com) for detailed condition reports.
