Olympia Auctions will hold its 'Islamic, Indian, Himalayan and South-East Asian Art' live and online

[View this email in your browser]( Olympia Auctions will hold its 'Islamic, Indian, Himalayan and South-East Asian Art' live and online auction on 5 June at 11am BST. Preview the lots at 25 Blythe Road, London, W14 0PD, on 2 June from 12pm–4pm, 3 June from 10am–8pm and 4 June from 10am–5pm. The auction of 403 lots includes collections from distinguished personalities in the art world such as the late British painter and print maker Sir Howard Hodgkin. Also included in the sale is a collection of tribal rugs belonging to the late Sotheby’s director Michael Bing, which will be sold without reserve. There is also a large group of Greek and Roman antiquities and Islamic pottery from a private collection in London. A highlight of the Hodgkin Collection is lot 129, a large hexagonal tile from Ottoman Syria, dating from 1550–1600 and estimated at £10,000–15,000. From the Michael Bing Collection, lot 86, a 19th-century Shirvan kilim from the east Caucasus and estimated at £500–1,000, is another highlight. Included amongst the Greek and Roman antiquities is an Attic black-figure amphora from Greece, circa 540–520 BC. This features alongside an extensive group of Iznik pottery dishes from Ottoman Turkey, dating from the late 16th to early 17th century, including lot 36, an example dated circa 1590–1600 and estimated at £2,500–3,500. Finally from a private collection in north London is lot 293, a mid-19th century woven wool Kashmir shawl, estimated at £1,000–1,500.
