The webinar is free for all registrants to attend and will be followed by a live Q&A. Only fourteen carpets of the Persian Sanguszko type are known. Arguably among the most beautiful of all Persian carpets, these carpets were made in Kerman during the 16th century. Three years ago Alessandro Bruschettini and The Bruschettini Foundation sponsored the conservation in Italy of one of the least known examples belonging to the Instituto Valencia de Don Juan in Madrid. This carpet along with eight other examples will be on exhibition in Genoa from 11 November 2022 - 12 February 2023 along with nine related carpets. In this webinar, curator Michael Franses will discuss the group, the exhibition and preview the stories behind the carpets that will ultimately form a large format book on Sanguszko carpets to be published by Hali Publications Ltd. in 2025.
