A week from today we'll be kicking off the Big Game and I can't wait. In the meantime, we've got you covered with plenty to take in. In case you missed it yesterday, our Cecil Lammey has insights from the Senior Bowl. Dan Hindery has the new Dynasty Values you have to see. Plus Dave Kluge talks about the Bears drafting Caleb Williams. And Cecil has some News and Notes. Let's Go. J What's New At Footballguys - [Why The Chicago Bears Need To Draft Caleb Williams](=) - The beleaguered Chicago Bears franchise has an important decision to make in the 2024 NFL Draft and regarding the future of Justin Fields, but drafting Caleb Williams is the smart choice. Our Dave Kluge explains. - [2024 Senior Bowl Risers and Fallers](=) - Our Cecil Lammey reports first-hand from Senior Bowl practices with players rising and falling. - [Dynasty Trade Value Chart: February]() - Our Dan Hindery's Dynasty Trade Value Chart is must read material for Dynasty GMs. The February version is ready for you here. BUF: Stefon Diggs unsure about future [Source: ESPN.com - Stephen Holder]( Buffalo Bills WR Stefon Diggs said he is not sure about his future with the Bills moving forward. Our view: Diggs is under contract with the Bills through 2027. This season, Diggs has a cap hit of $27.8 million with around $31 million remaining in dead money. Things between Diggs and QB Josh Allen seem to be interesting, and the veteran receiver's relationship with the team has seemingly been cold for some time. [Back to Top](#top) [] 2. TB: Mike Evans set for hefty contract? [Source: Pro Football Network - John Fields](=) Tampa Bay Buccaneers impending free-agent WR Mike Evans is expected to land a contract that pays between $25 to $30 million a year, according to reports. Our view: That sounds about right. Evans is set to be an unrestricted free agent, and he can still play at a high level. In 2023, Evans had a cap hit of $23 million so getting a bump in pay makes sense. We'll see where he lands for the 2024 season, but the Buccaneers have around $36 million in cap space and could afford to keep Evans on the team. [Back to Top](#top) [] 3. MIA: Tua Tagovailoa expects new deal [Source: Palm Beach Post - Joe Schad]( Miami Dolphins QB Tua Tagovailoa said he expects to sign a long-term contract with the Dolphins at some point. Our view: The two sides should be able to work something out, and an extension could be done with Tagovailoa before the start of the regular season. So long as he's healthy, Tagovailoa can continue to flourish under the guidance of HC Mike McDaniel. [Back to Top](#top) [] 4. MIA: Miami hiring Anthony Weaver as DC [Source: Bleacher Report - Jordan Schultz]() Baltimore Ravens assistant head coach and defensive line coach Anthony Weaver is being hired as the Miami Dolphins' defensive coordinator, per sources on Saturday, Feb. 3. Our view: Weaver had been getting some interest as a potential head coach this cycle, but he'll have to wait at least one more year. In Miami, Weaver takes over for Vic Fangio with playmakers already in place. The Dolphins' defense needs to stay healthy to produce to the expected level. [Back to Top](#top) [] 5. NYG: Daniel Jones may be ready for camp [Source: GiantsWire - Dan Benton]( New York Giants QB Daniel Jones (knee) is making good progress in his recovery and hopefully will be available for the start of training camp, according to general manager Joe Schoen. Our view: That could happen, but we need to get further into the offseason before having too much optimism. He went down in Week 9, and there was no further damage to his knee when Jones went in for ACL surgery. Giants GM Joe Schoen said Jones is expected to be the team's starting quarterback once healthy. We'll see him limited in OTAs and minicamp, but the plan should be to ramp things up in training camp. [Back to Top](#top) [] 6. GB: Sean Mannion now a coach [Source: ESPN.com - Brady Henderson]() Former Seahawks QB Sean Mannion is retiring from the NFL and taking a position on the coaching staff of the Green Bay Packers, per source on Saturday, Feb. 3. Mannion's exact position wasn't revealed but he's expected to work with quarterbacks and the passing game. Our view: Mannion, a third-round pick of the St. Louis Rams in the 2015 NFL draft, bounced around the league as a backup for several years. Now, he's going to help a passing game with a budding Jordan Love under center. We've seen a move like this before, most recently with Davis Webb joining the Broncos as a QB coach. [Back to Top](#top) [] 7. LVR: Vegas hiring DeShaun Foster [Source: NFL Network - Mike Garafolo]( UCLA running backs coach DeShaun Foster is being hired by the Las Vegas Raiders as their new running backs coach, according to sources. Our view: Things go by pretty quickly. We remember having Foster on our fantasy teams when he was a running back for the Panthers back in the day. Now, Foster joins Antonio Pierce's staff to work with Zamir White. We'll see what the team does about unrestricted free agent Josh Jacobs this offseason. [Back to Top](#top) [] 8. NO: Saints may restructure Derek Carr [Source: NOLA.com - Luke Johnson](=) New Orleans Saints QB Derek Carr is expected to have his contract restructured, which would likely keep him with the team for another two seasons, per source on Friday, Feb. 2. Our view: Carr has a cap hit of $35.7 million in 2024, and there's $52.8 million remaining in dead money. The Saints are about $83 million over the cap right now, so plenty of cap gymnastics will have to be made before the start of the new league year. [Back to Top](#top) [] 9. SEA: Seattle adding Leslie Frazier to staff [Source: NFL Network - Tom Pelissero]( Former Buffalo Bills defensive coordinator Leslie Frazier is joining the Seattle Seahawks as an assistant head coach, according to sources. Our view: New Seahawks HC Mike Macdonald gets a great resource with Frazier as his right-hand man. Frazier knows how to run a defense, and he should help greatly on that side of the ball for Seattle. [Back to Top](#top) [] 10. IND: Gardner Minshew would like to settle with a team [Source: NFL.com - Grant Gordon]( Indianapolis Colts impending free-agent QB Gardner Minshew said he would like to find a team that he can stay with for a while after playing with three teams in his first five seasons in the NFL. Our view: Minshew is a good backup quarterback who can start - and win games - if need be. The Colts have Anthony Richardson as their starter and potential franchise quarterback. However, we learned in 2023 (with 60 different starters at quarterback league-wide) that every team needs two quarterbacks. The Colts have almost $59 million in cap space, so keeping Minshew is an option. [Back to Top](#top) That'll do it for today, Folks.
