DET: Zach Ertz going to Lions [Source: NFL Network - Tom Pelissero]( Free-agent TE Zach Ertz (Cardinals) will sign with the Detroit Lions' practice squad Monday, Jan. 22, with potential plans to be activated for the NFC Championship Game. Our view: Ertz has been waiting to sign with a contender since the Cardinals let him go. The Lions are in the NFC Championship, and they need a reserve tight end as Brock Wright was injured in the game against the Buccaneers. [Back to Top](#top) [] 2. SF: No fracture for Deebo Samuel [Source: San Francisco Chronicle - Eric Branch]() San Francisco 49ers WR Deebo Samuel (shoulder) does not have a fracture in his shoulder, but his availability for the NFC Championship game will not be known until later in the week, according to head coach Kyle Shanahan. Our view: Good news on the X-Ray. We'll be looking for clarity later this week. [Back to Top](#top) [] 3. LAC: Jim Harbaugh meeting with LAC again [Source: ESPN - Adam Schefter]() University of Michigan head coach Jim Harbaugh will have his second interview for the Los Angeles Chargers head coaching vacancy this week. Our view: Harbaugh to the Chargers seems to be the thing we're all waiting for. If hired, he'll get to work with QB Justin Herbert and should bring the best out of him. We won't be surprised if Harbaugh gets the job. [Back to Top](#top)
[] 4. DET: Frank Ragnow expected to play NFCC game [Source: NFL Network - Ian Rapoport](=) Detroit Lions C Frank Ragnow (knee, ankle) is dealing with a sprained knee and ankle but is expected to play in the NFC Championship game against the San Francisco 49ers, according to sources Monday, Jan. 22. Our view: Ragnow gutted out the game with a huge effort Sunday. He seems like the kind of guy who'll be out there again this week with a monster game on the line. [Back to Top](#top) [] 5. JAX: Ryan Nielsen hired as Jags DC [Source: ESPN - Adam Schefter]( Former Atlanta Falcons defensive coordinator Ryan Nielsen is being hired as the Jacksonville Jaguars defensive coordinator, according to sources Monday, Jan. 22. Our view: Nielsen is now in charge of turning around the Jaguars defense. He should be able to do that as it's what happened in Atlanta. The Jaguars offense should help keep things steady on the defensive side, and it's their pass defense that needs the most improvement. [Back to Top](#top) [] 6. PIT: Pittsburgh seeks Zac Robinson interview [Source: MMQB - Albert Breer](=) Los Angeles Rams pass-game coordinator Zac Robinson was requested to interview for the Pittsburgh Steelers offensive coordinator vacancy, according to sources Monday, Jan. 22. Our view: Robinson is a fast riser in coaching circles, and he's on the fast track to be a head coach someday. His next step is offensive coordinator, and the Steelers need a ton of help on that side of the ball. If hired, Robinson will be in charge of turning things around for QB Kenny Pickett...or whatever quarterback the Steelers have under center next year. [Back to Top](#top) [] 7. LVR: Tom Telesco has second interview with Vegas [Source: The Athletic - Vic Tafur](=) Former Los Angeles Chargers general manager Tom Telesco has a second interview with the Las Vegas Raiders for their general manager vacancy, according to sources Monday, Jan. 22. Our view: Telesco gathered quite a bit of talent for the Chargers over the years, but they wanted to go in a different direction and let him go. The Raiders hired Antonio Pierce as their head coach, so they're trying to find the best fit for general manager. [Back to Top](#top) [] 8. ATL: Ravens coaches get second interview with Atlanta [Source: NFL Network - Ian Rapoport](=) Baltimore Ravens defensive coordinator Mike Macdonald and associate head coach and defensive line coach Anthony Weaver were requested to interview a second time for the Atlanta Falcons head coach vacancy, according to sources Monday, Jan. 22. Our view: Again, everyone thinks Bill Belichick is going to be Atlanta's head coach. The Falcons aren't acting like that with these quality interviews continuing. [Back to Top](#top) [] 9. NFL: Raheem Morris to have second interviews with four teams [Source: NFL Network - Ian Rapoport]() Los Angeles Rams defensive coordinator Raheem Morris will have a second interview for head coaching vacancies with Atlanta Falcons, Carolina Panthers, Seattle Seahawks and Washington Commanders. Our view: Morris is getting a ton of interest out there. He's likely to land a head coaching gig this offseason, but who knows which team will make the move. [Back to Top](#top) That'll do it for today, Folks. Thanks for reading and thanks for being part of the Footballguys Family. We'll see you tomorrow with the Update.
