Playoff football is just so good. Our Cecil Lammey has the News and Notes. Let's Go. J What's New At Footballguys - [Footballguys Spotlight - Hey Creator Summit]() - In the Footballguys Spotlight, I highlight cool stuff I see. This one isn't football specific but it's rad. My good friend Darrell Vesterfelt has put together a 5-day virtual summit bringing 20 Expert Speakers together for a fantastic event talking about creating content of all kinds. It's completely free and I have no doubt it'll be super valuable if you're considering getting into the business of creating any time of online content. SF: Deebo Samuel to undergo more tests [Source: NFL Network - Ian Rapoport]() San Francisco 49ers WR Deebo Samuel (shoulder) will undergo several tests on his left shoulder Sunday, Jan. 21, in order to determine his availability for the NFC Championship Game. Our view: Initial reports about Samuel's shoulder seem positive. We'll see what he can do during the week of practice as the 49ers prepare for the NFC Championship Game. [Back to Top](#top) [] 2. ATL: HC Search is 'Wide Open' [Source: Adam Schefter - ESPN]( Adam Schefter, from ESPN, is reporting the Atlanta Falcons are interviewing Houston Texans' OC Bobby Slowik today. They also will be meeting this week with former Titans' HC Mike Vrabel and Michigan's Jim Harbaugh in person, and scheduling other in-person head-coaching interviews as well. Their head coaching search is said to be "wide open." Our view: Everyone is putting Bill Belichick in Atlanta, but that may not be the case. As Lee Corso says, "Not so fast my friend." This is a quality list of candidates, including Belichick, for a job that may be the most attractive on the market. [Back to Top](#top) [] 3. WAS: Bieniemy to Interview for HC [Source: Josina Anderson - CBS Sports](=) The Washington Commanders are going to interview OC Eric Bieniemy for their head coaching spot per Josina Anderson of CBS Sports. Our view: We think Bieniemy should have gotten an opportunity to be a head coach a long time ago. Things weren't great for the Commanders' offense in 2023 under Bieniemy, but working with average quarterback play from Sam Howell didn't help. We'll see if this is finally the year that Bieniemy gets his opportunity. [Back to Top](#top) [] 4. NE: Interviewing Caley for OC [Source: Adam Schefter - ESPN]() Adam Schefter, from ESPN, reports Los Angeles Rams' TE coach Nick Caley is scheduled to interview for the New England Patriots' offensive coordinator job Monday, per source. Caley interviewed last year with the Jets and Texans, and he's considering an up-and-coming coaching talent in the NFL. Our view: The Sean McVay tree continues to grow in the NFL. The Patriots have a new HC in Jerod Mayo, but they need to fix their offense. Who knows what quarterback will be under center to open the season (Jayden Daniels?), but Caley or anyone in charge of that offense has their work cut out for them. [Back to Top](#top) 3 Dynasty Trades to Make RIGHT NOW! 🤝 (Dynasty Fantasy Football) Corey Spala breaks down some of the 3 offseason dynasty trades that you need to make ASAP! [[youtube]]() [] 5. NYJ: C.J. Uzomah injury update [Source: ESPN.com - Rich Cimini]( New York Jets TE C.J. Uzomah (knee) said he suffered damage to his medial collateral ligament and meniscus during the Week 13 game as well as a plateau fracture in his tibia. Our view: He is not allowed to put weight on his leg until the beginning of February but said his recovery is going well. [Back to Top](#top) [] 6. NO: Interviewing Jerrod Johnson for OC [Source: Jonathan Jones - CBS Sports](=) The New Orleans Saints have requested permission to interview Houston Texans quarterbacks coach Jerrod Johnson for their vacant offensive coordinator position according to Jonathan Jones from CBS Sports. Our view: With the success that rookie QB CJ Stroud had in 2023, the staff in Houston is going to get a lot of attention from teams in need of a spark. Johnson, a former quarterback himself, is seen as a fast riser in coaching circles. [Back to Top](#top) [] 7. SEA: Big List of Potential HC Candidates [Source: Tom Pelissero - NFL Network]() Tom Pelissero, from NFL Network, reports the Seattle Seahawks are going to be thorough when it comes to searching for their next head coach. They are setting up second interviews with head coaching candidates, including Panthers DC Ejiro Evero, Raiders DC Patrick Graham, Giants OC Mike Kafka, Rams DC Raheem Morris, and Cowboys DC Dan Quinn. Our view: We think they eventually hire Quinn as the head coach, but they are going to look everywhere for a successor to Pete Carroll. First interview lists are usually exhaustive, but second interview lists should be whittled down a bit. It looks like Seattle is going to be quite sure when they make a decision. [Back to Top](#top) That'll do it for today, Folks. Thanks for reading and thanks for being part of the Footballguys Family. We'll see you tomorrow with the Update.
