The format pits you against another [DRAFT](=) user each week in a live snake draft. Beat the user you're matched against and you advance to the next round - that's it. There's only room for 2048 entries at $28 a pop, so we'd suggest heading over to the [DRAFT](=) lobby to reserve your spot before the bracket fills. The final 512 survivors will win cash with the champ taking home a cool $10,000. For a limited time, [DRAFT](=) is donating $10 to The Red Cross of Houston on behalf of each new user that signs up to aid in Hurricane Harvey relief efforts, so if you're planning to sign up to [DRAFT](=) before the season starts, now is a great time. All new users signing up through the link are also eligible for a free $3 entry with their first deposit. --------------------------------------------------------------- Hi Folks, Welcome to the Weekend. [NE - Dont'a Hightower believed OK](#25) --------------------------------------------------------------- [] 1. [DAL - RB Ezekiel Elliott granted restraining order]( Source: Fort Worth Star-Telegram - Clarence E. Hill Jr. Dallas Cowboys RB [Ezekiel Elliott](=) was granted a temporary restraining order by a Texas judge on Friday, Sept. 8. [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] The chances of Elliott playing all season just went way up. If the NFL can get the fifth circuit to rule against Elliott then he might be suspended during the season, but the way that the court system moves, Elliott is probably not going to have to deal with this suspension until 2018, assuming it is upheld in the federal courts. [Back to Top](#top) --------------------------------------------------------------- [] 2. [JAX - WR Dede Westbrook placed on IR]() Source: Jaguars.com Jacksonville Jaguars WR Dede Westbrook (core) was placed on the Reserve/Injured list Friday, Sept. 8. [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] Westbrook had a very promising preseason, but he won't be able to contribute until well into the season now. He's easier to stash in dynasty leagues with an IR slot now. Westbrook could start next year with Allen Hurns a potential cap cut and Marqise Lee and Allen Robinson free agents. [Back to Top](#top) --------------------------------------------------------------- [] 3. [OAK - PK Sebastian Janikowski questionable](=) Source: Raiders.com Oakland Raiders PK Sebastian Janikowski (back) was limited during practice Friday, Sept. 8, and is listed as questionable for Week 1. [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] It sounds like Janikowski will play, but there's no reason to risk him in the lineup with the possibility of Giorgio Tavecchio getting called up to replace him at the last minute. [Back to Top](#top) --------------------------------------------------------------- [] 4. [NYG - WR Odell Beckham Jr. doesn't practice Friday]( Source: Giants.com Updating a previous report, New York Giants WR [Odell Beckham Jr](=). (ankle) did not practice Friday, Sept. 8, for the third straight day. His is officially listed as questionable. [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] Beckham is a game-time decision, but as long as you have a viable play to replace him, we think the safe play is to err on the side of leaving him on your bench. [Back to Top](#top) --------------------------------------------------------------- [] 5. [KC - S Eric Berry has torn Achilles']( Source: The Kansas City Star - Terez A. Paylor Kansas City Chiefs S Eric Berry (Achilles') has been diagnosed with a ruptured Achilles' and will miss the remainder of the season. [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] Berry was shutting down Rob Gronkowski on Thursday and he is a key part of the Chiefs defense. He'll be missed and his loss immediately makes Zach Ertz a better play in the matchup next week. [Back to Top](#top) --------------------------------------------------------------- [] 6. [CLE - DE Myles Garrett ruled out Week 1]() Source: Akron Beacon Journal - Nate Ulrich Cleveland Browns DE Myles Garrett (ankle) will not play in Week 1 and the Pittsburgh Steelers after suffering a high-ankle sprain in practice Wednesday, Sept. 6. [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] If you needed a reason to put Ben Roethlisberger in despite his ugly road/home splits last year, the absence of Garrett is a good one. The Browns don't have any pass rushers other than Garrett to truly create problems for Roethlisberger by applying pressure. [Back to Top](#top) --------------------------------------------------------------- [] 7. [MIN - RB Dalvin Cook expecting to be Week 1 workhorse]( Source: ESPN.com - Courtney Cronin Minnesota Vikings RB Dalvin Cook will likely operate as the team's workhorse back in Week 1 versus the New Orleans Saints, according to ESPN's Courtney Cronin. [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] As long as the offensive line is improved from last year, Cook should provide consistent value, bolstered by his receiving skills. He is an upside RB2 play this week against the Saints. [Back to Top](#top) --------------------------------------------------------------- [] 8. [OAK - RB Marshawn Lynch to be eased in Week 1?]( Source: ESPN.com - Paul Gutierrez Oakland Raiders RB [Marshawn Lynch](=) should see the bulk of carries in Week 1 against the Tennessee Titans, but head coach Jack Del Rio admitted recently he doesn't know what to expect from his starting running back right away. [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] Lynch looked like his old self in the preseason, albeit in very limited duty. The Raiders offensive line should help his cause. He's a solid RB2 play this week. [Back to Top](#top) --------------------------------------------------------------- [] 9. NO - RB Daniel Lasco waived Source: NFL New Orleans Saints RB [Daniel Lasco](=) was waived Friday, Sept. 8. [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] Rookie UDFA Trey Edmunds outplayed Lasco in camp and the preseason. He could play a role in the backfield if Mark Ingram and Adrian Peterson get hurt this year. [Back to Top](#top) --------------------------------------------------------------- [] 10. [DEN - Denver's Friday practice report]( Source: Chargers.com Denver Broncos RB [Devontae Booker](=) (wrist), DE Jared Crick (back), DE Zachariah Kerr (knee) and QB [Paxton Lynch](=) (shoulder) did not practice Friday, Sept. 8. RB [Jamaal Charles](=) (non-injury) and CB Aqib Talib (non-injury) were able to practice in full, as did P Riley Dixon (hip), C Matt Paradis (elbow), WR [Demaryius Thomas](=) (hamstring) and DE Derek Wolfe (ankle). DE Adam Gotsis (shoulder) and NT Kyle Peko (foot) were limited participants. [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] Charles returning to practice is confirmation that his missed practice earlier this week was simply veteran rest. [Back to Top](#top) --------------------------------------------------------------- [] 11. [CLE - Kevin Hogan to be No. 2 QB](=) Source: The Cleveland Plain Dealer - Mary Kay Cabot Cleveland Browns QB [Kevin Hogan](=) will serve as the primary backup quarterback for the team's Week 1 game, according to head coach Hue Jackson. [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] Cody Kessler has gone from presumptive starting quarterback to third string in Cleveland. He was actually better than expected as a rookie starter last year, and would be able to find work as a backup if the Browns were to move on from him before his rookie contract is up. [Back to Top](#top) --------------------------------------------------------------- [] 12. [NE - New England works out three WRs](=) Source: ESPNBoston.com - Mike Reiss Free-agent WRs Gabe Marks (Jets), [Jordan Payton](=) (Browns) and [Marquess Wilson](=) (Jets) worked out for the New England Patriots Friday, Sept. 8. [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] Danny Amendola suffered a concussion and Malcolm Mitchell is on injured reserve, so the team is looking for depth. [Back to Top](#top) --------------------------------------------------------------- [] 13. [JAX - Jacksonville claims S Calvin Pryor]() Source: Jaguars.com Free-agent SS Calvin Pryor (Browns) was claimed off waivers by the Jacksonville Jaguars Friday, Sept. 8. [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] Pryor is only a downhill in the box safety, but the Jaguars defense is strong everywhere and can use him in that limited role without leaving his weaknesses exposed. [Back to Top](#top) --------------------------------------------------------------- [] 14. [SEA - RB Thomas Rawls questionable for Week 1](=) Source: The Tacoma News Tribune - Gregg Bell Seattle Seahawks RB [Thomas Rawls](=) (ankle) practiced in full on Friday, Sept. 8, but is still listed as questionable for Week 1 against the Green Bay Packers. [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] Head coach Pete Carroll revealed that Rawls suffered a high ankle sprain previously and he is a game-time decision. They might take it slow with him to avoid any re-injury or setbacks because of their depth at running back. If Rawls is out, Eddie Lacy becomes flexworthy against his old Packers team. [Back to Top](#top) --------------------------------------------------------------- [] 15. [SEA - WR Tyler Lockett listed as questionable](=) Source: The Tacoma News Tribune - Gregg Bell Seattle Seahawks WR [Tyler Lockett](=) (knee) practiced in full on Friday, Sept. 8, but he is still listed as questionable for Week 1 against the Green Bay Packers. [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] Lockett is going to split the #2 wide receiver role with Paul Richardson if he's active. The matchup is good against the Packers defense, but if the role is split, there isn't a clear start. If Lockett is inactive, Richardson will be a upside WR3. [Back to Top](#top) --------------------------------------------------------------- [] 16. [CHI - Week 1 injury report for Chicago]( Source: ChicagoBears.com Chicago Bears CB Prince Amukamara (ankle) did not participate in practice Friday, Sept. 8, and has been ruled out for Week 1. WR [Markus Wheaton](=) (finger), OG Kyle Long (ankle) and LB Pernell McPhee (knee) were limited during practice and are listed as questionable. LB Sam Acho (ankle), DT Jonathan Bullard (glute) and CB Sherrick McManis (hamstring) fully participated in practice and are not on the injury report. [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] The Bears will have their hands full with the Falcons passing game but will be without their presumptive #1 corner. If the team is missing Kyle Long, it will impact the offense as he's their best offensive lineman. [Back to Top](#top) --------------------------------------------------------------- [] 17. [TEN - Week 1 injury report for Titans]( Source: TitansOnline.com Tennessee Titans CB LeShaun Sims (groin) did not participate in practice Friday, Sept. 8, and has been ruled out for Week 1. OT Taylor Lewan (ankle) fully participated in practice and is not on the injury report. [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] Rookie Adoree Jackson will get a lot of snaps and have a target on his back when the Raiders pass on Sunday. [Back to Top](#top) --------------------------------------------------------------- [] 18. [WAS - WR Josh Doctson removed from injury report]() Source: Redskins.com Washington Redskins WR [Josh Doctson](=) (hamstring) was a full participant in practice Friday, Sept. 8, and has been removed from the injury report. [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] Doctson had a disappointing preseason and camp because of injuries, but it sounds like he is ready to contribute as the #3 receiver this week. He's worth an end of the bench spot on talent alone. [Back to Top](#top) --------------------------------------------------------------- [] 19. [WAS - WR Jamison Crowder questionable]() Source: ESPN.com - John Keim Washington Redskins WR [Jamison Crowder](=) (hip) has been listed as questionable with a hip flexor for Week 1 against the Philadelphia Eagles. [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] Crowder said he expects to play and he should have a good matchup against the Eagles corners with Ronald Darby a better matchup for Terrelle Pryor. Crowder is a solid WR3/Flex PPR play this week even with the risk of the hip issue. Check back on Sunday morning to make sure he is active. [Back to Top](#top) --------------------------------------------------------------- [] 20. [TB - Tampa Bay to use RBBC without RB Doug Martin]( Source: ESPN.com - Jenna Laine Tampa Bay Buccaneers RB [Jacquizz Rodgers](=) will most likely be the first- and second- down back, while [Charles Sims](=) will handle most of the third-down work and Peyton Barber will be the goal-line back while [Doug Martin](=) serves his season-opening three-game suspension, according to ESPN's Jenna Laine. [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] If Barber is the goal line back, that takes some luster off of Rodgers as a first three weeks RB2/Flex play, although next weeks matchup against the Bears should at least be flexworthy. Week 4 against the Giants is a much tougher draw for Rodgers and the Bucs running game. [Back to Top](#top) --------------------------------------------------------------- [] 21. [NE - RB James White saw bulk of snaps Thursday](=) Source: ESPNBoston.com - Mike Reiss New England Patriots RB [James White](=) played in 43 of 81 offensive snaps in a Week 1 loss against the Kansas City Chiefs on Thursday, Sept. 7. [Mike Gillislee](=) finished second on the team with 24, [Rex Burkhead](=) had 10 and [Dion Lewis](=) tallied six. [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] White could have more value when the Patriots stay ahead and allow him to get on track, while Burkhead and Lewis did too little to carry in short bench leagues. [Back to Top](#top) --------------------------------------------------------------- [] 22. [CIN - Cincinnati to utilize hot hand at RB]() Source: The Cincinnati Enquirer - Paul Dehner Jr. Cincinnati Bengals RBs [Jeremy Hill](=), Joe Mixon and [Giovani Bernard](=) are expected to begin the season in a committee, according to running backs coach Kyle Caskey. [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] For now there is no clarity in this backfield and it's hard to trust anyone, especially with the questions about the Cincinnati offensive line, but most observers expect Mixon to rise to the top before long. [Back to Top](#top) --------------------------------------------------------------- [] 23. [BUF - RB LeSean McCoy at practice]() Source: ESPN.com - Mike Rodak Buffalo Bills RB [LeSean McCoy](=) (illness) was at practice Friday, Sept. 8, after missing a portion of the previous day's practice with a stomach bug. [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] McCoy should be the bulk of the Bills offense this week and one of the best running back plays of Week 1. [Back to Top](#top) --------------------------------------------------------------- [] 24. [NYG - Odell Beckham questionable for Week 1]( Source: NFL Network - Ian Rapoport New York Giants WR [Odell Beckham Jr](=). (ankle) is listed as questionable for Week 1. [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] Beckham still appears to be on the doubtful side of questionable, but he has played three times without practicing in the past. Even if he goes, he could be a decoy and the Giants should err on the side of caution this early in the season. The smart move at this point appears to be leaving Beckham on your bench. [Back to Top](#top) --------------------------------------------------------------- [] 25. [NE - Dont'a Hightower believed OK]( Source: NFL Network - Ian Rapoport Updating previous reports, New England Patriots LB Dont'a Hightower (knee) is believed to have a minor medial collateral ligament sprain. With the long week, he could potentially play in Week 2. [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] A sigh of relief for a beleaguered Patriots defense that will have to face Drew Brees next week. Hightower is the team's best linebacker and one of their best and only experienced edge rushers.
