GB: Jordan Love in line for extension [Source: NFL Network - Ian Rapoport]() Green Bay Packers QB Jordan Love will be a candidate for a contract extension this offseason. Our view: Love is under contract for only $10 million next season as the Packers foresight to get his 2024 terms worked out before his 2023 success has been rewarded. HOU: Denzel Perryman exits with injury [Source: KPRC.com - Aaron Wilson]( Houston Texans LB Denzel Perryman (rib) did not return to the wild-card playoff game against the Cleveland Browns Saturday, Jan. 13, after sustaining a rib injury. However, it is not considered serious and he should be able to play next week. Our view: Perryman has been part of the Texans defense resurgence this year under new head coach Demeco Ryans. The linebacker corps has suffered a lot of injuries this season, but Perryman, a projected starter, has been a constant in the second half of the season. [Back to Top](#top) [] 3. CLE: Deshaun Watson making progress [Source: The Cleveland Plain Dealer - Mary Kay Cabot]( Cleveland Browns QB Deshaun Watson (shoulder) is making good progress in his recovery and will be the Browns starting quarterback moving forward, according to head coach Kevin Stefanski. Our view: The team also left open the possibility of Joe Flacco returning. The downfield pass offense was better with Flacco, but perhaps Watson will be better next season since he'll be more familiar with his offense and teammates. [Back to Top](#top) [] 4. DAL: Dak Prescott may receive new deal [Source: NFL Network - Ian Rapoport]() Dallas Cowboys QB Dak Prescott will be a candidate for a contract extension this offseason because he will be entering the final year of his current contract in 2024. Our view: The Cowboys took as long as they could to give Prescott his second contract and the price went up significantly while they dithered about his future. Getting his next contract done before they have to should help cut down on the costs this time. [Back to Top](#top) [] 5. CLE: Kareem Hunt open to returning [Source: ESPN.com - Jim Trotter]( Cleveland Browns impending free-agent RB Kareem Hunt said he is willing to re-sign with the Browns this offseason but will also consider other options as well. Our view: Hunt is clearly on the back nine of his career, but played an important role as a short yardage back who kept Jerome Ford fresh. The Browns also have a decision to make on Nick Chubb, who is due an $11.775 million base salary in the last year of his contract coming off of an ACL tear. [Back to Top](#top) [] 6. NFL: J.J. McCarthy entering draft [Source: ESPN - Adam Schefter]( Michigan QB J.J. McCarthy has announced that he will entering the 2024 NFL Draft. Our view: McCarthy is unlikely to be higher than QB5 on the board this year, and he could have stood out more in the 2025 class, but he also could have lost value. Entering the draft with the wind of winning a national championship at your back is a good look, and McCarthy could go in the second half of the first round as a long-term plan for a team that doesn't need a quarterback right now, but will need one in the future.
