HOU: Noah Brown, Robert Woods to be Game Time Decisions [Source: Click2Houston.com - Aaron Wilson]( Houston Texans WR Noah Brown (back) and WR Robert Woods (hip) are expected to be game-time decisions for the Wild Card playoff game. Our view: The Texans need all the help they can get on Saturday against the Browns. Having either Brown or Woods would benefit CJ Stroud and the passing game. [Back to Top](#top) [] 2. PHI: No sign of A.J. Brown at practice on Friday [Source: Houston Chronicle - Brooks Kubena](=) Philadelphia Eagles WR A.J. Brown (knee) was not spotted at practice for a second straight day on Friday, Jan. 12. Our view: That's not great, but the Eagles do play on Monday night against the Buccaneers. We need to see Brown out there on Saturday in order to have confidence he'll play in the Wild Card round. [Back to Top](#top) [] 3. BUF: Gabe Davis ruled out [Source: The Buffalo News - Katherine Fitzgerald](=) Buffalo Bills WR Gabe Davis (knee) was ruled out Friday, Jan. 12, ahead of the wild-card game against the Pittsburgh Steelers. Our view: Losing Davis means the Bills will have to look for big-bodied downfield threats elsewhere. That means potentially more targets for Stefon Diggs, and expect the tight ends to get used more near pay dirt. [Back to Top](#top) [] 4. BUF: Josh Allen ready to play [Source: BuffaloBills.com]() Buffalo Bills QB Josh Allen (neck) fully participated in practice Friday, Jan. 12, and is not on the injury report for the Wild Card playoff game. Our view: Allen has been banged up quite a bit this year, but he's ready for the postseason. The Bills worked hard just to make the postseason after losing too many games early. If they can get hot, guided by Allen, they'll push for a Super Bowl appearance. [Back to Top](#top) [] 5. TB: Baker Mayfield back on field [Source: Buccaneers.com]() Tampa Bay Buccaneers QB Baker Mayfield (ankle, ribs) was limited during practice Friday, Jan. 12. Our view: Few teams are healthy this time of year but Mayfield will be out there giving it his all. With ribs though, there's always the concern for re-aggravation. [Back to Top](#top) [] 6. BUF: Stefon Diggs sits out Friday [Source: BuffaloBills.com]() Buffalo Bills WR Stefon Diggs (non-injury) did not participate in practice Friday, Jan. 12, but is not on the injury report for the Wild Card playoff game. Our view: Diggs is getting some rest before the Wild Card game against the Steelers on Sunday. He was disappointed about how things ended last year, so expect Diggs to go all out anytime he's on the field in the playoffs. [Back to Top](#top) [] 7. PHI: DeVonta Smith fully practices [Source: PhiladelphiaEagles.com]( Philadelphia Eagles WR DeVonta Smith (ankle) fully participated in practice Friday, Jan. 12. Our view: Good news for Smith and the Eagles as there are still questions about A.J. Brown. [Back to Top](#top) [] 8. PHI: Jalen Hurts takes part in practice [Source: PhiladelphiaEagles.com]( Philadelphia Eagles QB Jalen Hurts (finger) fully participated in practice Friday, Jan. 12. Our view: Hurts is expected to be the starter this week but there are questions as to how the finger injury might affect his game. He's tough and a gamer so we expect him to give a great effort. [Back to Top](#top) [] 9. WAS: Washington hires Adam Peters as GM [Source: ESPN - Adam Schefter]() San Francisco 49ers assistant general manager Adam Peters is being hired as the general manager of the Washington Commanders, according to sources Friday. Our view: A fantastic move for the Commanders here. Peters did a great job in helping to construct championship-level rosters in Denver and San Francisco. He was John Lynch's right-hand man with the 49ers, and now he gets to run his own team. Peters will be heavily involved in finding the next head coach for the Commanders in the coming weeks. NE: Jerod Mayo taking over as head coach [Source: NFL Network - Ian Rapoport]() New England Patriots linebackers coach Jerod Mayo was named head coach Friday, Jan. 12. Our view: As most expected, Mayo takes over for Bill Belichick. With language in his contract, Mayo gets to move up the ranks without the Patriots interviewing any other candidates. Now, the team will find a new general manager to work with Mayo. With the no3 overall pick in the 2024 NFL draft, expect the Patriots to be in the market for a quarterback like Caleb Williams (USC), Drake Maye (North Carolina), or Jayden Daniels (LSU). [Back to Top](#top) [] 11. DET: Brace likely for Sam LaPorta if active [Source: NFL.com](=) Detroit Lions TE Sam LaPorta (knee) said he likely will wear a brace on his knee if he is active for the Wild Card playoff game so he does not hyperextended it, according to NFL Network's Bridget Condon. Our view: LaPorta is clearly not going to be himself if he's able to play on Sunday against the Rams. Sadly, the Lions may not have one of their best weapons on offense for their first home playoff game in 30 years because he played in a meaningless (for the most part) game in Week 18. [Back to Top](#top) [] 12. TB: Mike Evans a focal point [Source: NFL Network - James Palmer]( Tampa Bay Buccaneers WR Mike Evans is expected to be a focal point in the offense in the Wild Card Round, according to offensive coordinator Dave Canales. Our view: No surprise here. The Buccaneers face the Eagles on Monday night, and they've got to use Evans early and often. The Eagles have been down recently, and the Buccaneers should be ready to pounce - then advance to the next round. [Back to Top](#top) [] 13. GB: Jayden Reed ready to play [Source: ESPN.com - Rob Demovsky]() Green Bay Packers WR Jayden Reed (chest) fully participated in practice Friday, Jan. 12, and is not on the injury report for the Wild Card playoff game. Our view: Reed caught 4-of-4 targets for 112 yards in the Packers' Week 18 win over the Bears. That's the first 100-yard game of his career, and now he gets to carry that momentum into the postseason on Sunday against the Cowboys. [Back to Top](#top) [] 14. BUF: Dawson Knox back at practice [Source: BuffaloBills.com]() Buffalo Bills TE Dawson Knox (illness) fully participated in practice Friday, Jan. 12, and is not on the injury report for the Wild Card playoff game. Our view: That's good news for the Bills. Knox is a favorite target for Josh Allen, and he can help move the chains. [Back to Top](#top) [] 15. PIT: Najee Harris expected to play [Source: Steelers.com - Teresa Varley]( Pittsburgh Steelers RB Najee Harris (knee) fully participated in practice Friday, Jan. 12, and is not on the injury report for the Wild Card playoff game. Our view: Harris will be out there for the Steelers to help their rushing attack. Against the Bills, the Steelers may want to play "keep away" from Josh Allen and company. Plus, they'll want to keep things simple for Mason Rudolph. That means the rushing attack (including Harris) could have large roles on Sunday. [Back to Top](#top) [] 16. GB: Aaron Jones should be available [Source: ESPN.com - Rob Demovsky]() Green Bay Packers RB Aaron Jones (finger, knee) was limited during practice Friday, Jan. 12, but is not on the injury report for the Wild Card playoff game. Our view: Jones has been limited in practice this week, but expect him to be out there against the Cowboys. The team will be without AJ Dillon, so guys like Emmanuel Wilson and Patrick Taylor will serve as backups behind Jones in the Wild Card round. [Back to Top](#top) [] 17. BAL: Mark Andrews designated to return [Source: ESPN.com - Jamison Hensley](=) Baltimore Ravens TE Mark Andrews (ankle) was designated to return from the Reserve/Injured list Friday, Jan. 12. Our view: This opens up a 21-day window for Andrews to return to the lineup for the Ravens. They're off this week as the no1 seed in the AFC, but Andrews could be ready to go for the Divisional Round. [Back to Top](#top) [] 18. TEN: Tennessee interested in Bobby Turner [Source: PaulKuharsky.com - Paul Kuharsky]( The Tennessee Titans are interested in San Francisco 49ers running backs coach Bobby Turner for their head coaching vacancy, according to Paul Kuharsky. Our view: Turner has been a long-time coach with several 1,000-yard rushers having worked under his guidance. The Titans are looking to replace Mike Vrabel, and GM Ran Carthon worked with Turner in San Francisco. Turner turns 75 years old later this year, so it's an interesting option for the Titans. [Back to Top](#top) [] 19. IND: Anthony Richardson won't change style [Source: ESPN.com - Stephen Holder]( Indianapolis Colts QB Anthony Richardson (shoulder) said he doesn't need to overhaul his style of play despite suffering an injury last year. 'But I don't think I have to change the way I play,' Richardson said. 'Just being a little smarter.' Our view: He's going to have to play with safety in mind. Richardson plays with no regard for his safety, and that's not going to last in the NFL. He can still be a dangerous runner, but he's going to have to slide more as a runner and sometimes "self-sack" if the pressure is too much in the pocket. He's an exciting young player, but durability is certainly a concern with the way he plays. [Back to Top](#top) [] 20. GB: AJ Dillon unlikely to suit up in Wild Card Round [Source: ESPN.com - Rob Demovsky]() Green Bay Packers RB AJ Dillon (thumb, neck) is listed as doubtful for the team's NFC Wild Card game versus the Dallas Cowboys. Our view: No surprise here. Dillon missed Week 18, and now he'll miss the game against the Cowboys. That means Aaron Jones could get even more work with guys like Emmanuel Wilson and Patrick Taylor behind him in the rotation. [Back to Top](#top) That'll do it for today, Folks.
