PHI: DeVonta Smith misses another practice [Source: Houston Chronicle - Brooks Kubena](=) Philadelphia Eagles WR DeVonta Smith (ankle) did not practice for a second consecutive day on Thursday, Jan. 4. Our view: Smith was on crutches after the Week 17 game, but this injury is not considered serious. He's missing time, but if he's limited on Friday then he'll have a good chance of playing in Week 18. The Eagles need some momentum as they head into the postseason. [Back to Top](#top) [] 2. MIA: No practice for Raheem Mostert on Thursday [Source: The Miami Herald - Daniel Oyefusi]( Miami Dolphins RB Raheem Mostert (knee, ankle) did not practice on Thursday, Jan. 4. Our view: Mostert might miss another game due to these various injuries. That means De'Von Achane could be the lead back in Week 18 against the Bills. [Back to Top](#top) [] 3. BAL: Lamar Jackson ruled out [Source: BaltimoreRavens.com]( Baltimore Ravens QB Lamar Jackson (non-injury) was limited during practice Thursday, Jan. 4, but has been ruled out for Week 18. Our view: No surprise here as the Ravens gear up for the playoffs. [Back to Top](#top) [] 4. BAL: Zay Flowers unlikely to play [Source: BaltimoreRavens.com]( Baltimore Ravens WR Zay Flowers (calf) did not participate in practice Thursday, Jan. 4, and is listed as doubtful for Week 18. Our view: The Rookie Wall is real and we'd be surprised to see Flowers this week as he gets ready for the post-season. [Back to Top](#top) [] 5. BAL: Odell Beckham to miss Week 18 [Source: BaltimoreRavens.com]( Baltimore Ravens WR Odell Beckham Jr. (non-injury) did not participate in practice Thursday, Jan. 4, and has been ruled out for Week 18. Our view: The Ravens are thinking about the postseason, and they'll want their guys as healthy as possible. [Back to Top](#top) [] 6. BAL: Dalvin Cook lands in Baltimore [Source: CBS Sports HQ - Josina Anderson]() Free-agent RB Dalvin Cook (Jets) is signing to the Baltimore Ravens' practice squad for the playoffs, according to a source on Thursday, Jan. 4. LAR: Cooper Kupp resting in Week 18 [Source: Around The NFL](=) Los Angeles Rams WR Cooper Kupp will not play against the San Francisco 49ers in Week 18, according to head coach Sean McVay. Our view: It's Carson Wentz versus Sam Darnold on Sunday as the Rams take on the 49ers. Kupp is getting rest before the Rams make a postseason run. If they're hot, the Rams can play with any team in the playoffs. [Back to Top](#top) [] 8. HOU: Noah Brown to miss season finale [Source: HoustonTexans.com](=) Houston Texans WR Noah Brown (back) did not participate in practice Thursday, Jan. 4, and has been ruled out for Week 18. Our view: Rough news for Brown and the Texans here. [Back to Top](#top) [] 9. WAS: Curtis Samuel not spotted Thursday [Source: ESPN.com - John Keim]() Washington Commanders WR Curtis Samuel (hamstring) was not spotted at practice Thursday, Jan. 4. Our view: There are quite a few Commanders who could sit out the season finale, including Samuel. The coaching staff will be turned over this offseason, but dynasty wise we are still fans of trading for Samuel. Let's see what he can do on Friday, and then let's see what Washington does this offseason. [Back to Top](#top) The best things sent in the Footballguys Group Chat today: - 🙄 Buckle up. IND: Zack Moss practices again on Thursday [Source: The Athletic - James Boyd](=) Indianapolis Colts RB Zack Moss (forearm) practiced in full for a second straight day on Thursday, Jan. 4. Our view: It looks like Moss will be back out there in Week 18. He missed Week 17, but will return as the primary backup to Jonathan Taylor as the Colts get ready to push for the playoffs. [Back to Top](#top) [] 11. CHI: DJ Moore gets some work in on Thursday [Source: ChicagoBears.com](=) Chicago Bears WR DJ Moore (ankle) was limited in practice for a second consecutive day on Thursday, Jan. 4. Our view: Moore has been a bright spot for the Bears this season. He's likely to set new career highs in receptions, yards, and touchdowns. We'll see what the Bears do at quarterback this offseason (and if they keep QB Justin Fields) but Moore is a huge part of what they do in 2024 and beyond. [Back to Top](#top) [] 12. TB: Baker Mayfield upgraded to limited practice [Source: Buccaneers.com]() Tampa Bay Buccaneers QB Baker Mayfield (ribs) was limited in practice on Thursday, Jan. 4. Our view: Mayfield is going to gut it out in Week 18. The Buccaneers are trying to engineer a postseason run, and even though he's not 100 percent Mayfield is the leader and key to their hopes. JAX: Christian Kirk practicing again on Thursday [Source: Jacksonville.com - Demetrius Harvey](=) Jacksonville Jaguars WR Christian Kirk (groin) was limited in practice for a second straight day on Thursday, Jan. 4. Our view: The 21-day window to activate Kirk is open. We are not sure if he's playing in Week 18, but practicing on a limited basis is a sign the Jaguars are going to see if he can give it a go. Stay tuned. [Back to Top](#top) [] 14. MIA: Tyreek Hill not present at practice on Thursday [Source: The Miami Herald - Daniel Oyefusi](=) Miami Dolphins WR Tyreek Hill (ankle, personal) did not practice on Thursday, Jan. 4. We should see Hill out there against the Bills in Week 18. [Back to Top](#top) That'll do it for today, Folks. Thanks for reading and thanks for being part of the Footballguys Family.
