The format pits you against another [DRAFT](=) user each week in a live snake draft. Beat the user you're matched against and you advance to the next round - that's it. There's only room for 2048 entries at $28 a pop, so we'd suggest heading over to the [DRAFT](=) lobby to reserve your spot before the bracket fills. The final 512 survivors will win cash with the champ taking home a cool $10,000. For a limited time, [DRAFT](=) is donating $10 to The Red Cross of Houston on behalf of each new user that signs up to aid in Hurricane Harvey relief efforts, so if you're planning to sign up to [DRAFT](=) before the season starts, now is a great time. All new users signing up through the link are also eligible for a free $3 entry with their first deposit. --------------------------------------------------------------- Hi Folks, Good Wednesday to you. [CIN - TE Tyler Eifert back on the field](#20) --------------------------------------------------------------- [] 1. [OAK - PK Sebastian Janikowski's back an issue]( Source: NFL Network - Ian Rapoport Oakland Raiders PK Sebastian Janikowski (back) looked 'awful' in practice Monday, Sept. 4, according to a source, as his back has been slow to recover. The team worked out three kickers Monday. [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] Keep an eye on this if you've drafted Janikowski in your fantasy league. There's a chance he could be released if he doesn't take a pay cut. [Back to Top](#top) --------------------------------------------------------------- [] 2. [SEA - RB Thomas Rawls officially starting](=) Source: The Seattle Times - Bob Condotta Seattle Seahawks RB [Thomas Rawls](=) is listed as the No. 1 running back on the Seahawks' depth chart. RB [Eddie Lacy](=) is listed as the backup, followed by RB [C.J. Prosise](=). [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] Rawls is not guaranteed to play in Week 1 as he's dealing with an ankle injury. He's at the top of the depth chart but we could see Lacy begin the year as the lead back if Rawls isn't healthy. The Seahawks backfield is a bit of a mess for fantasy owners, but we don't mind making rookie Chris Carson a 'lottery ticket' pick late in deep drafts. [Back to Top](#top) --------------------------------------------------------------- [] 3. [NE - WR Danny Amendola's snaps to be managed]( Source: ESPNBoston.com - Mike Reiss New England Patriots WR [Danny Amendola](=)'s snap count for the upcoming season is 'expected to be managed with long-term preservation' in mind, according to Mike Reiss of ESPN.com. [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] Fantasy owners should consider Amendola a late-round flier at the WR position this year but that's about it. Chris Hogan should move to the slot with Amendola rotating on the outside opposite Brandin Cooks. [Back to Top](#top) --------------------------------------------------------------- [] 4. [NYJ - WR Jeremy Kerley back with Jets](=) Source: ESPN - Adam Schefter Free-agent WR [Jeremy Kerley](=) (49ers) is signing a one-year deal with the New York Jets Tuesday, Sept. 5, according to a source. Financial terms were not disclosed. [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] Kerley could actually have value in deep PPR leagues due to his skill set and role in the Jets offense as the slot receiver. The Jets don't have much in the passing game, but Kerley might be their most targeted wideout. [Back to Top](#top) --------------------------------------------------------------- [] 5. [PIT - Le'Veon Bell in shape]( Source: Pittsburgh Post-Gazette - Ed Bouchette Pittsburgh Steelers RB Le'Veon Bell is in 'great physical condition,' according to head coach Mike Tomlin. [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] Great physical condition is not the same as 'football shape' and that's what Bell is working towards. We should see him get near his full workload, if not the entire workload, in the team's season opener against the Browns. [Back to Top](#top) --------------------------------------------------------------- [] 6. [CAR - RB Christian McCaffrey to be featured]() Source: ESPN.com - Dianna Marie Russini Carolina Panthers RB Christian McCaffrey has a large part of the offense devoted to him, according to team sources, and he has his own separate playbook. [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] The Panthers are wise to feature McCaffrey as much as possible in this offense. He's incredibly dangerous with the ball in his hands and he can hurt defenses as a patient runner or receiver out of the backfield. As the centerpiece of the offense, McCaffrey could pay off big time for fantasy owners that added him as a RB2 in their drafts. [Back to Top](#top) --------------------------------------------------------------- [] 7. [NYJ - Two notable players try out for Jets]( Source: New York Post - Brian Costello Free-agents OT Jah Reid (Chiefs) and RB [Juwan Thompson](=) (Broncos) worked out for the New York Jets Tuesday, Sept. 5, according to a source. [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] Thompson ran well in the preseason for the Broncos but he couldn't make the final roster and is out of practice squad eligibility. He can play halfback or fullback and may get another shot with a new team. [Back to Top](#top) --------------------------------------------------------------- [] 8. [LAR - Nelson Spruce waived from IR](=) Source: SiriusXM NFL Radio - Adam Caplan Los Angeles Rams WR [Nelson Spruce](=) (calf) was waived from the Reserve/Injured list with an injury settlement Tuesday, Sept. 5. [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] Spruce is a quick-twitch receiver but he's battled injuries in his only two years in the NFL. If he can't stay healthy, the young WR will run out of chances. [Back to Top](#top) --------------------------------------------------------------- [] 9. [NE - WR Malcolm Mitchell remains limited](=) Source: Patriots.com New England Patriots WR [Malcolm Mitchell](=) (knee) was limited during practice Tuesday, Sept. 5. [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] Mitchell is going to be part of a rotation outside at wide receiver opposite Brandin Cooks...that's when he's healthy of course. With Mitchell banged up and the season opener approaching quickly on Thursday night, we don't see the second-year WR doing much if he does play. [Back to Top](#top) --------------------------------------------------------------- [] 10. [DEN - RB Devontae Booker could practice soon]() Source: The Denver Post - Nicki Jhabvala Denver Broncos RB [Devontae Booker](=)'s (wrist) X-rays on his injured wrist looked good and he may practice as soon as this week or next week, according to a source. [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] Booker was always pegged for a return in Week 2 or Week 3 and it looks like he's on track. When healthy, Booker will push for snaps in the backfield with starter C.J. Anderson and change-of-pace back Jamaal Charles. There's not much there for him unless Anderson gets hurt (again). Keep Booker on your waiver wire speed dial. [Back to Top](#top) --------------------------------------------------------------- [] 11. [NYG - TE Rhett Ellison listed as starter]() Source: ESPN.com - Jordan Raanan New York Giants TE [Rhett Ellison](=) is listed as the starting tight end on the team's depth chart for Week 1. [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] Ellison may be the starter but he's mostly going to be a blocking tight end. Rookie Evan Engram (first-round pick, Ole Miss) could catch the most passes at the position even though he's not the starter to begin the season. [Back to Top](#top) --------------------------------------------------------------- [] 12. [WAS - RB Chris Thompson inks two-year extension](=) Source: The Washington Post - Master Tesfatsion Washington Redskins RB [Chris Thompson](=) signed a two-year contract extension Tuesday, Sept. 5. While some of the financial details were undisclosed, the deal reportedly include $6.5 million guaranteed. [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] Thompson is the team's change-of-pace back behind starter Rob Kelley. He's got flex appeal on a weekly basis in PPR leagues. [Back to Top](#top) --------------------------------------------------------------- [] 13. [NYG - WR Brandon Marshall ready for Week 1]() Source: SNY - Ralph Vacchiano New York Giants WR [Brandon Marshall](=) (shoulder) declared himself ready for Week 1 versus the Dallas Cowboys. [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] The team has been working him towards the season opener, and it looks like everything is on track. Marshall missed about a week of practice and missed the team's last two preseason games after sustaining a shoulder injury on Aug. 21 against the Cleveland Browns. [Back to Top](#top) --------------------------------------------------------------- [] 14. [NE - WR Brandin Cooks draws praise]() Source: ESPNBoston.com - Mike Reiss New England Patriots WR [Brandin Cooks](=) has shown great professionalism for a 23-year-old, according to quarterback [Tom Brady](=). [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] Not every wide receiver has meshed with Brady. It's a good sign that Cooks has put in the work and impressed his future Hall of Fame quarterback. Cooks is a low-end WR1 with upside each week in the Patriots passing attack. [Back to Top](#top) --------------------------------------------------------------- [] 15. [DAL - QB Kellen Moore returning to Cowboys]( Source: Fort Worth Star-Telegram - Drew Davison Free-agent QB [Kellen Moore](=) (Cowboys) will re-sign with the Dallas Cowboys Tuesday, Sept. 5, according to owner Jerry Jones. [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] The Cowboys only have rookie Cooper Rush as the backup to Dak Prescott, so it makes sense to bring Moore back for veteran experience. [Back to Top](#top) --------------------------------------------------------------- [] 16. [CLE - WR Rashard Higgins joins CLE's practice squad]() Source: Akron Beacon Journal - Nate Ulrich Free-agent WR [Rashard Higgins](=) (Browns) was signed to the Cleveland Browns' practice squad Tuesday, Sept. 5. [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] Higgins was a fifth-round pick (Colorado State) for the Browns last year. At 6'2" 190 pounds, Higgins has a nice size/speed combination but the best part of his game is the ability to make circus catches seem routine. We like him in super deep dynasty leagues as a developmental prospect. [Back to Top](#top) --------------------------------------------------------------- [] 17. [KC - RB Akeem Hunt lands with Chiefs]( Source: The Kansas City Star - Terez A. Paylor Free-agent RB [Akeem Hunt](=) (Texans) was signed to the Kansas City Chiefs' practice squad Tuesday, Sept. 5, according to a source. [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] Hunt is a good all-purpose back who can contribute as a runner or receiver out of the backfield. We'll continue to monitor his career, but only in super deep dynasty leagues. [Back to Top](#top) --------------------------------------------------------------- [] 18. [SEA - QB Trevone Boykin added to practice squad]() Source: ProFootballTalk.com - Charean Williams Free-agent QB [Trevone Boykin](=) (Seahawks) was signed to the Seattle Seahawks' practice squad Monday, Sept. 4. [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] Boykin was pretty bad in August and he lost the backup job to Austin Davis. He's an athletic QB, but Boykin needs help when it comes to decision making as a passer....and oh yeah, he needs to stay out of trouble off the field. [Back to Top](#top) --------------------------------------------------------------- [] 19. [CLE - WR Sammie Coates may play Week 1](=) Source: The Cleveland Plain Dealer - Dan Labbe Cleveland Browns WR [Sammie Coates](=) hopefully will be able to play in Week 1, according to head coach Hue Jackson. [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] Coates could play in Week 1, but he's nothing more than a low-end WR prospect in deep dynasty leagues. [Back to Top](#top) --------------------------------------------------------------- [] 20. [CIN - TE Tyler Eifert back on the field]( Source: The Cincinnati Enquirer - Paul Dehner Jr. and Jim Owczarski Cincinnati Bengals TE [Tyler Eifert](=) (knee) participated in practice Monday, Sept. 4. [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] Good news for the Bengals, Andy Dalton and fantasy owners here. Eifert did not play in the final two preseason games because of the injury. Playing against the Ravens in Week 1, Eifert could continue as a red-zone threat and TE1 for fantasy owners if healthy.
