LAC: Keenan Allen to miss second straight game [Source: ESPN - Adam Schefter]( Updating a previous report, Los Angeles Chargers WR Keenan Allen (heel) did not practice all week and has been ruled out for Week 16 against the Buffalo Bills. Our view: Allen is out of action for Week 16 against the Bills on Saturday night. That means Josh Palmer takes over as their lead receiver. With QB Easton Stick starting, we can't recommend Palmer as anything more than a WR4/flex in Week 16. [Back to Top](#top) [] 2. HOU: Nico Collins limited again [Source: HoustonTexans.com](=) Houston Texans WR Nico Collins (calf) was limited in practice for the second straight day on Thursday, Dec. 21. Our view: Collins has been limited two days in a row now. Let's see if he's able to get work in Friday. [Back to Top](#top) [] 3. JAX: Zay Jones not on the field Thursday [Source: Jaguars.com](=) Jacksonville Jaguars WR Zay Jones (hamstring, knee) did not participate in practice Thursday, Dec. 21. Our view: Not what we were hoping for from Jones. Let's see if he's able to work on Friday. [Back to Top](#top) [] 4. CIN: Ja'Marr Chase ruled out vs. Steelers [Source: NFL Network - Ian Rapoport]() Cincinnati Bengals WR Ja'Marr Chase (shoulder) will not play in Week 16 against the Pittsburgh Steelers, according to head coach Zac Taylor on Thursday, Dec. 21. Our view: Reports indicate Chase could miss two weeks with this injury. That's not great news, but it helps that the Bengals have so many talented skill position players. Without Chase, Tee Higgins and Tyler Boyd will be tasked with doing more as the Bengals push for a postseason berth. [Back to Top](#top) [] 5. JAX: Trevor Lawrence still not practicing [Source: ProFootballTalk.com - Myles Simmons]( Jacksonville Jaguars QB Trevor Lawrence (concussion) was not spotted on the field during the portion of practice open to the media on Thursday, Dec. 21. Our view: Lawrence is not trending in the right direction, and neither are the Jaguars. They travel to play the Buccaneers in Week 16, and CJ Beathard could be the starter if Lawrence is out of action. They've lost three in a row and four of the last six games, and at 8-6 they're in a three-way tie with the Texans and Colts in the AFC South. [Back to Top](#top) [] 6. IND: Michael Pittman Jr. trending in right direction [Source: The Athletic - James Boyd](=) Indianapolis Colts WR Michael Pittman Jr. (concussion) was cleared for full contact in practice on Thursday, Dec. 21. Our view: That's good news for the star receiver. The Colts (8-6) are in a three-way tie for the AFC South title with the Jaguars and the Texans. Having Pittman out there is a boost for the offense and QB Gardner Minshew. [Back to Top](#top) [] 7. BUF: James Cook due back Thursday [Source: The Athletic - Joe Buscaglia]( Buffalo Bills RB James Cook (illness) is expected to be back for practice Thursday, Dec. 21, and should be fine to play in Week 16, according to head coach Sean McDermott. Our view: The Bills play on Saturday night against the Chargers. As they make a push for the playoffs, using more Cook has been a key for their offense. Fantasy GMs are loving his increased usage, and he's a top-5 option in the second round of the fantasy playoffs. MIA: Raheem Mostert sits out again [Source: South Florida Sun-Sentinel - David Furones](=) Miami Dolphins RB Raheem Mostert (ankle, knee) did not participate in practice Thursday, Dec. 21. Our view: Mostert's been amazing but let's see if he's able to work on Friday. [Back to Top](#top) [] 9. JAX: Parker Washington's role growing [Source: ESPN.com - Dan Graziano]() Jacksonville Jaguars WR Parker Washington is expected to have a 'bigger contribution' moving forward, according to Dan Graziano of ESPN.com. Our view: Washington splashed onto the scene a few weeks ago, and the rookie has been impressive this last month of the season. He's emerged because of injuries at the position, but in this results-based business, he does produce. Over the last three games, Washington's entire 2023 season production has come with 12 catches for 100 yards and two touchdowns. With Zay Jones (hamstring) banged up, we could see more targets for guys like Washington and TE Evan Engram. [Back to Top](#top) [] 10. PIT: Kenny Pickett a no-go for Week 16 [Source: ESPN - Adam Schefter]( Pittsburgh Steelers QB Kenny Pickett (ankle) will not play in Week 16 versus the Cincinnati Bengals, according to head coach Mike Tomlin on Thursday, Dec. 21. Mason Rudolph will start in his place. Our view: Things are so bad, the Steelers are turning to Rudolph over Mitchell Trubisky. Pickett was not going to be back for Week 16, but there's a chance he could get out there for Week 17. The Steelers are still in the playoff hunt, but starting Rudolph - or Trubisky - is not a great option. [Back to Top](#top) [] 11. MIN: Ty Chandler bringing explosiveness [Source: ESPN.com - Kevin Seifert]() Minnesota Vikings RB Ty Chandler has three rushes of 20-plus yards in 72 carries this season while RB Alexander Mattison has one such run on 168 carries. Chandler has also scored on both his goal-to-go runs while Mattison has gone scoreless on 11 such carries while netting a total of one yard. Our view: Chandler has good speed, and he's intent as a runner. While not a pile-pusher, Chandler does a good job of churning his legs and picking up tough yards in between the tackles. [Back to Top](#top) [] 12. GB: Luke Musgrave one step closer to return [Source: The Athletic - Matt Schneidman]() Green Bay Packers TE Luke Musgrave (kidney) was designated for return from the Reserve/Injured list on Thursday, Dec. 21. Our view: Musgrave has been out of action for a month with this lacerated kidney. Upon his return, fellow rookie TE Tucker Kraft would see a reduced role. Musgrave has been working out on the side field, so he may not yet be ready to return in Week 16. Stay tuned. IND: Jonathan Taylor to test thumb Thursday [Source: The Athletic - James Boyd](=) Indianapolis Colts RB Jonathan Taylor (thumb) said he will practice Thursday, Dec. 21, to determine whether he can play in Week 16. He said he'll wear a brace or a wrap on his thumb. Our view: Let's circle back on Friday to check in on Taylor's thumb. He needs to practice and see how the injury responds to increased work. Zack Moss (forearm) is banged up, so the Colts could use the boost Taylor's return to the lineup would provide. They're pushing for the playoffs and are on the road against the Falcons coming up Sunday. [Back to Top](#top) [] 14. KC: Kansas City not giving up on Kadarius Toney [Source: ESPN.com - Dan Graziano]() Kansas City Chiefs WR Kadarius Toney will 'keep getting chances,' according to Dan Graziano of ESPN.com, and a team source told Graziano that the Chiefs 'will just keep coaching' Toney. Our view: Well, that's not going to last forever. Andy Reid is patient, but Toney has been a player who has disappointed on more than one occasion and with more than one team. We'll see if he can reward Reid's faith with better performances and concentration when it comes to simple stuff like lining up correctly. [Back to Top](#top) [] 15. KC: Mecole Hardman primed to return to practice [Source: ESPN.com - Adam Teicher]() Kansas City Chiefs WR Mecole Hardman (thumb) was designated for return from the Reserve/Injured list on Thursday, Dec. 21. Our view: We'll now see if Hardman can get activated to the roster for gameday. He can replace Kadarius Toney on short-to-intermediate routes in the Chiefs' offense. Even if he's out there, it's difficult for Fantasy GMs to trust any pass-catcher in the Chiefs' offense not named Travis Kelce or Rashee Rice. [Back to Top](#top) [] 16. NYJ: Trevor Siemian likely to draw Week 16 start [Source: SNY.tv - Connor Hughes]( New York Jets QB Trevor Siemian appears to be the frontrunner to start at quarterback in Week 16 versus the Washington Commanders, according to comments made by offensive coordinator Nathaniel Hackett on Thursday, Dec. 21. Our view: That's the way things have been trending. Siemian is not good, but Zach Wilson has a concussion. With Siemian out there, we'll recommend WR Garrett Wilson as a WR2/flex play in Week 16. [Back to Top](#top) [] 17. WAS: Brian Robinson does some side work on Thursday [Source: ESPN.com - John Keim]( Washington Commanders RB Brian Robinson Jr. (hamstring) was spotted working on a side field on Thursday, Dec. 21. Our view: The Commanders could be without Robinson again this week. Let's see how his hamstring has responded to more work and what his status is on Friday. Against the Jets on Sunday, Washington could use an RBBC with Antonio Gibson and Chris Rodriguez in the backfield. [Back to Top](#top) That'll do it for today, Folks.
