The guys highlight your secret weapons for dominating the fantasy playoffs! [[youtube]]()[[podcast]]([[spotify]](=) [] 1. SEA: Geno Smith expected to play this week [Source: The Athletic - Michael-Shawn Dugar]() Seattle Seahawks QB Geno Smith (groin) will have a full week of practice and play in Week 16, according to head coach Pete Carroll. Our view: This groin injury caused Smith to miss the past two games. Drew Lock started and looked good, but he now likely goes back to the bench. Against the Titans in Week 16, Smith could post borderline QB1 numbers for Fantasy GMs out there. Stay tuned this week. [Back to Top](#top) [] 2. ATL: Taylor Heinicke to start [Source: The Athletic - Josh Kendall]() Atlanta Falcons QB Taylor Heinicke will start over QB Desmond Ridder in Week 16 against the Indianapolis Colts. Our view: The Falcons have benched Desmond Ridder, so they're back to Heinicke. He started earlier this year, and the team went back to Ridder, so we'll have to see if Heinicke can do better this time. He does play "YOLO" ball, so downfield passing will be part of what Heinicke does. [Back to Top](#top) [] 3. NYJ: Aaron Rodgers discusses NFL future [Source: NFL.com - Kevin Patra](=) New York Jets QB Aaron Rodgers (Achilles) acknowledged that he will not play again during the 2023 season on Tuesday, Dec. 19. Rodgers added that he feels as if the 2023 season was a 'lost year' for him and that he 'wanted at least two years (before retiring).''I wanted at least two years, I feel like this year is kind of a lost year. I only played a couple of snaps, wasn't able to go out there and prove what I'm capable of and see what we're capable of as a team. I don't think next year (2024) will be my last year. With some of the things that I've learned over the last year in taking care of my body and surrounding myself with some great people who have been helping me with my nutrition and my functional training at an acute level. I feel like I can play more years and be effective into my 40s, which is crazy because I thought I would be sitting on my couch somewhere at 40, but now I want to be a starter at 40, I want to be a starter at 41. I want to see what I can get out of this body,' Rodgers said on The Pat McAfee Show. Our view: Rodgers should return in 2024. The Jets may have a different coaching staff this offseason, so we'll have to see who is around him when he does get back to the football field. Rodgers' is getting up there in age, so it will be interesting to see what he has left in the tank when the games count in September 2024. [Back to Top](#top) [] 4. SEA: Jaxon Smith-Njigba delivering in the clutch [Source: ESPN Stats and Information](=) Seattle Seahawks WR Jaxon Smith-Njigba posted a game-winning 29-yard touchdown with 28 seconds left in Week 15 against the Philadelphia Eagles, and he is the only rookie since 1960 with two game-winning touchdown receptions in the final minute of the fourth quarter. Our view: Smith-Njigba has to split targets with DK Metcalf and Tyler Lockett, but he's got the skill of a no.1 receiver. We love him in dynasty formats, and his play will earn him more of the target share as his career continues. [Back to Top](#top) [] 5. BUF: James Cook has giant day for Buffalo [Source: ESPN Stats and Information](=) Buffalo Bills RB James Cook totaled 221 yards from scrimmage in Week 15 against the Dallas Cowboys, the most by a Bills player in a single game since RB Fred Jackson posted 227 total yards in a game in 2009. Our view: Finally! We've been wanting to see Cook more involved earlier this year, and it seems like the Bills are finally figuring his usage out. Hopefully, this change will be enough to keep them winning and get them into the postseason. ARI: Marquise Brown unlikely to head to IR [Source: The Arizona Republic - Bob McManaman](=) Arizona Cardinals WR Marquise Brown (heel) isn't likely to go to the reserve/injured list, head coach Jonathan Gannon said Monday, Dec. 18. Our view: Brown was in and out of the game in Week 15, so if you started him and advanced in the fantasy playoffs then consider yourself fortunate. We'll likely see him limited in practice this week. He's only a desperation 'what the heck' flex against the Bears in Week 16. [Back to Top](#top) [] 7. LAR: Ronnie Rivers inching closer to return [Source: NFL Network - Ian Rapoport]() Los Angeles Rams RB Ronnie Rivers (knee) was designated for return from the Reserve/Injured list on Tuesday, Dec. 19. Our view: When Rivers returns it will be to compete for a backup role behind starting RB Kyren Williams. Royce Freeman and rookie Zach Evans will be his competition. We'll monitor Rivers, but only in dynasty formats. [Back to Top](#top) [] 8. SF: Christian McCaffrey absolutely punishes Cards [Source: ESPN Stats and Information](=) San Francisco 49ers RB Christian McCaffrey had a rushing touchdown and two receiving scores in Week 15 against the Arizona Cardinals, and he has seven total scores against the Cards this season. He is the first player in franchise history with seven touchdowns against a single team in the same season. His seven touchdowns against Arizona ties the most by any NFL player against a team in a single season in the Super Bowl era. Our view: McCaffrey pretty much punishes everyone, but he's especially dangerous against the Cardinals. The 49ers are pushing for a Super Bowl, and they've got two league MVP candidates in McCaffrey and QB Brock Purdy. [Back to Top](#top) That'll do it for today, Folks.
