LAC: Justin Herbert lands on IR [Source: NFL Network - Ian Rapoport]() Updating a previous report, Los Angeles Chargers QB Justin Herbert (finger) was placed on the Reserve/Injured list with a broken right index finger on Tuesday, Dec. 12. Our view: Herbert's 2023 season comes to a close with an injury to his throwing hand suffered against the Broncos on Sunday. As a 65.1 percent passer this season, Herbert threw for 3,134 yards, 20 touchdowns, and seven interceptions. When WR Mike Williams went down, Herbert's downfield threat was gone and not replaced. The Chargers need a new coaching staff, and they need one that will get the most out of the rocket-armed quarterback (*cough*downfield*cough*). [Back to Top](#top) [] 2. MIA: Tyreek Hill considered day-to-day [Source: The Miami Herald - Barry Jackson](=) Miami Dolphins WR Tyreek Hill (ankle) is reportedly day-to-day with the ankle injury he suffered in Week 14 versus the Tennessee Titans, according to head coach Mike McDaniel. Our view: Hill was injured on Monday night and had to miss some time. He was able to return to the game, so that's a positive sign for his availability. We'll see him likely as "DNP" or "limited" during the week of practice as the team prepares for the Jets in Week 15. [Back to Top](#top) [] 3. IND: Jonathan Taylor expected back this season [Source: FOX Sports - Ben Arthur]( Indianapolis Colts RB Jonathan Taylor (thumb) is expected to play again this season, but his status for Week 15 has yet to be determined, according to head coach Shane Steichen. Our view: Steichen did not reveal his plan for Taylor in Week 15, but he likely misses at least another week. The Colts are vying for a playoff run, and having Taylor healthy for the postseason should be a priority. We think he might return in Week 16 at the earliest. [Back to Top](#top) [] 4. LAC: Max Duggan called up [Source: KPRC.com - Aaron Wilson]( Los Angeles Chargers QB Max Duggan was signed off the practice squad and added to the active roster on Tuesday, Dec. 12. Our view: Duggan will serve as the backup to starting QB Easton Stick. A seventh-round pick out of TCU in 2023, Duggan's game is all about toughness and moxie. He's confident and can threaten a defense with his scrambling ability. As a passer, Duggan's mechanics and play are erratic. [Back to Top](#top) [] 5. BAL: Malik Cunningham signed by Ravens [Source: ESPN - Adam Schefter]() New England Patriots QB Malik Cunningham was signed off the practice squad by the Baltimore Ravens Tuesday, Dec. 12, to their active roster. Our view: This is a great landing spot for Cunningham as he wasn't getting utilized by the Patriots. He is reunited with Lamar Jackson as they both were quarterbacks at Louisville in 2017 (Cunningham's redshirt year). Cunningham is a developmental prospect for the Ravens behind Jackson, and with Tyler Huntley set to be an unrestricted free agent in 2024 perhaps Cunningham could work his way into the primary backup spot in Baltimore next year. [We’ve got a QB battle.]() [] 6. BAL: Devin Duvernay's regular season over [Source: NFL Network - Ian Rapoport]() Baltimore Ravens WR Devin Duvernay (back) suffered a back injury in Week 14 that will require a stint on the Reserve/Injured list. Our view: Duvernay is mostly a returner for the Ravens, something Tylan Wallace will take over for the rest of the regular season. He doesn't need surgery and should be good for the playoffs. [Back to Top](#top) [] 7. MIN: Nick Mullens set to start in Week 15 [Source: NFL Network - Ian Rapoport]() Minnesota Vikings QB Nick Mullens was named as the team's starting quarterback for Week 15 against the Cincinnati Bengals. Our view: It's been a rocky ride in Minnesota this year. Mullens gets the nod for this week. [Back to Top](#top) [] 8. LAC: Joshua Palmer coming off injured reserve [Source: ESPN - Adam Schefter]( Los Angeles Chargers WR Joshua Palmer (knee) was activated from the Reserve/Injured list on Tuesday, Dec. 12. Our view: Palmer was close to returning last week, and it seems like now might be his time. That's good news for the Chargers who are moving forward with Easton Stick as their quarterback. We'll see Palmer compete with rookie first-round pick Quentin Johnston for snaps and targets. [Back to Top](#top) That'll do it for today, Folks.
