We're rolling in Week 14 and we're ready to go. Our Cecil Lammey has the News and Notes you need. Let's Go. JAX: Trevor Lawrence has high ankle sprain but unclear timetable [Source: ESPN.com - Cameron Wolfe]() Updating previous reports, Jacksonville Jaguars QB Trevor Lawrence (ankle) did not suffer a season-ending ankle injury. Our view: We'll see CJ Beathard as the team's starter if Lawrence misses time. Lawrence reportedly has a high-ankle sprain, and that type of injury can linger. It could keep him out a month, but his timetable is unclear at this point. Coach Doug Pederson said Tuesday afternoon, "I'm not going to put that timetable on Trevor. I'm not going to put him in a box like that, but we'll see how he is in a couple of days." Stay tuned. [Back to Top](#top) [] 2. JAX: Christian Kirk out indefinitely [Source: Jacksonville.com - Demetrius Harvey](=) Updating a previous report, Jacksonville Jaguars WR Christian Kirk (groin) will likely require surgery to repair the groin injury he suffered on the team's first play of the game in Week 13 versus the Cincinnati Bengals. Our view: Without Kirk for an unknown amount of time, the Jaguars are going to turn to rookie WR Parker Washington. He's strong after the catch, and we saw on Monday night that the Penn State product has insane body control and the concentration to make big catches. [Back to Top](#top) = = [] 3. NO: Jameis Winston may start in Week 14 [Source: NewOrleans.Football - Mike Triplett]( New Orleans Saints QB Jameis Winston will be the starting quarterback in Week 14 if QB Derek Carr (concussion, ribs) is not able to play, according to head coach Dennis Allen. Our view: Carr could play, but we are not sure yet if he can make it through the league's concussion protocol. With two concussions in a month, it's likely best for Carr to miss some time. In start-2QB/Superflex leagues, go ahead and add Winston as a streaming option. [Back to Top](#top) [] 4. PIT: Najee Harris pops up on injury report [Source: Steelers.com]() Pittsburgh Steelers RB Najee Harris (knee) was added to the team's injury report and did not practice with a knee injury on Tuesday, Dec. 5. Our view: We'll watch this one closely Wednesday to see if we get clarity. The Steelers play the Patriots this Thursday night. [Back to Top](#top) [] 5. NE: Rhamondre Stevenson out with high-ankle sprain [Source: ESPN - Adam Schefter]() New England Patriots RB Rhamondre Stevenson (ankle) will miss multiple weeks with a high-ankle sprain. Our view: Stevenson is out, and Ezekiel Elliott is in to be the Patriots offense. Seriously, the Patriots should lean on Elliott as much as possible because Bailey Zappe is at quarterback (for now). Elliott may not be what he used to be, but from a fantasy perspective, he's worth considering as an RB2/flex on a weekly basis while Stevenson is out. [Back to Top](#top) [] 6. NYJ: Tim Boyle released [Source: ESPN.com - Rich Cimini]( New York Jets QB Tim Boyle was released Tuesday, Dec. 5. The Jets signed QB Brett Rypien off the Seattle Seahawks' practice squad to their 53-man roster. Our view: Boyle was terrible as the Jets' starter, which everyone could have guessed... except the Jets who wanted to get away from Zach Wilson as their starter. Now, the team has reportedly asked Wilson to be their starter again. We can only say, sorry Jets fans. [Back to Top](#top) The best things sent in the Footballguys Group Chat today: - 😏 Send this to your [league-mates who didn’t make the playoffs.]() - 😳 His record is what? [Matt Lafleur is Mr. December.]() - 🏁 Who’s faster? We need [DK Metcalf and Tyreek Hill to race this offseason.]() - 😤 Stepped up when needed. Jake Browning [might have earned himself another contract.]() - 🧐 Any takers? The Jets [desperately trying to find a QB this week.]() [] 7. CHI: Eric Bieniemy has Bears' interest [Source: CBS Sports HQ - Josina Anderson](=) Washington Commanders offensive coordinator Eric Bieniemy is drawing interest from the Chicago Bears as they plan to evaluate head coach Matt Eberflus. Our view: Bieniemy had interest from the Bears the last time they had an opening (when they hired Eberflus). With Washington not looking great this year, the entire staff is likely to get blown out. That means Bieniemy could be looking for a job, and the Bears (depending on what they think of Eberflus now) will be interested...again. We'd love to see Bieniemy finally get the head coaching opportunity he's been looking for, and it's curious as to why no team has hired him just yet despite what seems to be yearly interest from multiple teams. [Back to Top](#top) [] 8. NYG: Tommy DeVito gets the Week 14 nod [Source: Giants.com]( New York Giants QB Tommy DeVito will remain the starting quarterback in Week 14 against the Green Bay Packers despite Tyrod Taylor's return to practice this week following his stint on the Reserve/Injured list due to multiple broken ribs. Our view: DeVito has looked better as he gets more time under center. Tyrod Taylor is coming back from his ribs injury, but for Monday night in Week 14 against the Packers we'll see DeVito as the Giants' starter once again. [Back to Top](#top) [] 9. HOU: Davion Davis headed back to Houston [Source: KPRC.com - Aaron Wilson]( Free-agent WR Davion Davis was signed to the practice squad of the Houston Texans on Tuesday, Dec. 5. Our view: Undrafted out of Sam Houston State in 2019, Davis has bounced around the league. The Texans need more help at the position with Tank Dell out for the season. Davis has run-after-the-catch ability, but we're only keeping track of him in super crazy deep dynasty leagues. [Back to Top](#top) [] 10. NYG: Darren Waller getting close to return [Source: The Record - Art Stapleton](=) New York Giants TE Darren Waller (hamstring) ran routes on Tuesday, Dec. 5, for the first time since he landed on the Reserve/Injured list following the team's Week 8 game. Our view: Last week, Giants head coach Brian Daboll said, "we'll see" when asked if Waller will return after the team's Week 13 bye. So, we'll continue to monitor the veteran's status as the week goes on. If he's out there on the waiver wire, and you've got room on your bench, go ahead and preemptively pick Waller up in case of his return. [Back to Top](#top) [] 11. PHI: Dallas Goedert expects to play in Week 14 [Source: ProFootballTalk.com - Josh Alper](=) Philadelphia Eagles TE Dallas Goedert (forearm) told SportsRadio 94WIP that he expects to play 'every snap they allow me to' in Week 14 against the Dallas Cowboys.'It's been healing really well. It's probably feeling like 85-90 percent of the way there. Feeling really good back to normal. . . I'm able to do everything I need to do in my position group, so I'm planning on going down to Dallas and playing every snap that they allow me to. Hopefully I don't have a limit on my snaps. I know when I came back last year I didn't, so hopefully it's kinda the same thing,' Goedert said. Our view: We'll have to see what Goedert can do in practice this week. The Eagles are reeling after their loss to the 49ers, but you can't keep a team like this down. The game against the Cowboys is huge, and it has tons of playoff implications and NFC East implications too. [Back to Top](#top) That'll do it for today, Folks. Text with a very high Flesch reading ease score (about 100) is straightforward and easy to read, with short sentences and no words of more than two syllables.
