In the latest episode of The Audible, Sigmund Bloom and Cecil Lammey break down the top Waiver Wire pickups that fantasy managers need to make before Week 13! [[youtube]](=)[[podcast]](=)[[spotify]](=) [] 1. IND: Jonathan Taylor set to have thumb surgery [Source: NFL Network - Ian Rapoport]() Updating a previous report, Indianapolis Colts RB Jonathan Taylor (thumb) is scheduled to undergo surgery on his injured thumb on Wednesday, Nov. 29. According to team owner Jim Irsay, the hope is that Taylor can return to action in two to three weeks. Our view: If it's possible, make a move for Zack Moss. Taylor did play about half of the game in Week 12 against the Buccaneers with this injury. However, a thumb injury could cause a multi-week absence and we're near the beginning of the fantasy playoffs. [Back to Top](#top) [] 2. MIN: Justin Jefferson coming off IR [Source: Vikings.com](=) Minnesota Vikings WR Justin Jefferson (hamstring) was activated from the Reserve/Injured list on Tuesday, Nov. 28. Our view: The Vikings are on bye in Week 13, but this move has been anticipated for some time. He's been practicing for the past two weeks, and Jefferson should be out there in Week 14. [Back to Top](#top) = = [] 3. PIT: Kenny Pickett may be limited [Source: The Athletic - Mark Kaboly]( Pittsburgh Steelers QB Kenny Pickett (ankle) could be limited in practice early in the week. Our view: The Steelers' offense looks much better now that they've moved on from OC Matt Canada, and Pickett's play will be a big reason they push for the postseason. Let's see what the young quarterback can do during the week of practice as the team prepares for a home game against the Cardinals in Week 13. [Back to Top](#top) [] 4. KC: Mecole Hardman undergoes surgery [Source: KMBC.com - Nick Sloan]() Kansas City Chiefs WR Mecole Hardman (thumb) had successful thumb surgery on Monday, Nov. 27. He was placed on the reserve/injured list last week. 'I'll be back for the regular season,' Hardman tweeted Monday. Our view: Hardman is on Injured Reserve, so he'll have to miss at least four games as he recovers from surgery. Fantasy GMs and the Chiefs weren't relying on Hardman to do much. The team moves forward with young receivers like Rashee Rice and Skyy Moore as top targets not named Travis Kelce (or any receiving options from the backfield) in the passing game. [Back to Top](#top) [] 5. LAC: Quentin Johnston undergoes X-rays [Source: The Athletic - Daniel Popper](=) Los Angeles Chargers WR Quentin Johnston (ribs) underwent X-rays on the injured ribs he suffered during the Week 12 game but they were negative, according to head coach Brandon Staley. Our view: Johnston was knocked out of the Chargers' Week 12 game in the third quarter and did not return. The negative X-rays are a positive sign of his future playing status, but rib injuries always come down to pain tolerance. He's not having a great rookie season, and the first-round pick has been disappointing for Chargers fans (and some Fantasy GMs) out there. MIN: HC considered benching Joshua Dobbs [Source: Minneapolis Star Tribune - Ben Goessling]( Minnesota Vikings QB Joshua Dobbs tossed four interceptions in Week 12 against the Chicago Bears, and head coach Kevin O'Connell said Monday, Nov. 27, that he considered replacing Dobbs with QB Nick Mullens before the team's lone touchdown drive. 'It started to get to the point where I was thinking about what would give us a spark,' O'Connell said. He added that the team will 'take a look at everything' in regards to quarterback after the team's bye. Our view: The Vikings have now lost two games in a row. They're still in the playoff chase, but they need to get things right after their Week 13 bye. Dobbs will be their starter in Week 14 as they travel to play the Raiders, but he cannot afford to have another game like the one he had on Monday night. [Back to Top](#top) [] 7. GB: Luke Musgrave uncertain for rest of 2023 [Source: USA TODAY NETWORK-Wisconsin - Ryan Wood](=) Green Bay Packers TE Luke Musgrave (abdomen) is on the reserve/injured list, and head coach Matt LaFleur said Monday, Nov. 27, that he doesn't know if the tight end will return this season. However, the coach said he isn't ruling out Musgrave, and credits the player's toughness after trying to play through a lacerated kidney. Our view: We still appreciate Musgrave in dynasty formats, but this rookie season might be a wrap for him. He will not require surgery for the lacerated kidney, but Musgrave will miss at least four games on Injured Reserve. Tucker Kraft played in place of Musgrave on Thanksgiving, and he should continue as the lead tight end while his fellow rookie misses time. [Back to Top](#top) [] 8. DET: Hendon Hooker may be cleared to practice [Source: MLive.com - Kyle Meinke](=) Detroit Lions QB Hendon Hooker (knee) may participate in practice this week, according to head coach Dan Campbell. Hooker is currently on the Reserve/Non-Football Injury list. Our view: Good news for the young quarterback here, and we love him in deep dynasty formats. Hooker was injured late in his college career at Tennessee, and even though he had first-round talent he fell to the third round of the 2023 NFL draft. We're unlikely to see him this season, but by clearing him to practice the Lions will get a preview of what he could be in the pros. The upside to be a franchise quarterback is there with Hooker, and he could be the successor to Jared Goff one day. [Back to Top](#top) That'll do it for today, Folks.
