[KC - RB Spencer Ware may be out 2-8 weeks]( Source: ESPN - Adam Schefter Updating an ongoing story, Kansas City Chiefs RB [Spencer Ware](=) (knee) could miss as little as two weeks because of his knee injury or could miss as much as eight weeks, according to a source. He is scheduled to undergo an MRI Saturday, Aug. 26, to determine the severity of the injury. [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] Kareem Hunt, an exciting rookie RB from Toledo, will now be the team's featured back according to Chiefs head coach Andy Reid. Ware's status for the start of the season is up in the air right now, but we could see him go on the PUP list which forces him out the first six week. [KC - RB Spencer Ware injury not 'clear-cut']() Source: ESPN.com - Adam Teicher Kansas City Chiefs RB [Spencer Ware](=) (knee) is expected to return before the end of the season, but head coach Andy Reid acknowledges there is much uncertainty regarding his situation. [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] It's a little touch and go at this point. Early reports indicate Ware can be back in as little as a couple of weeks and as much as a couple of months. [NE - WR Julian Edelman done for the season]( Source: NFL Network - Albert Breer Updating previous reports, New England Patriots WR [Julian Edelman](=) (knee) suffered a complete ACL tear in his right knee and will miss the 2017 season, according to a source. [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] This means Chris Hogan moves up the pecking order for the Patriots. Brandin Cooks is already in line to be heavily targeted this year, and now Hogan should see a bump in production. Watch for Danny Amendola and perhaps even RB Rex Burkhead to get some more work in the passing game. Edelman is not set to be a free agent until 2020, but there's no more guaranteed money in his contract. This leaves his future with the team in question, and Edelman will turn 32 years old next year. [KC - RB Kareem Hunt leads the backfield](=) Source: ESPN.com Kansas City Chiefs RB Kareem Hunt carried a team-high nine times for 39 yards in a 26-13 loss to the Seattle Seahawks in the preseason Friday, Aug. 25. [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] A third-round pick out of Toledo, Hunt gets an opportunity to be a big part of the offense. Hunt has a good all-around skill set and is a lunch-pail type of back who can grind an opponent down. He's also a good receiver out of the backfield. Fantasy owners should consider Hunt a third- or fourth-round pick due to his skill set and upside. [Back to Top](#top) --------------------------------------------------------------- [] 5. [JAX - QB Blake Bortles wins starting job](=) Source: ProFootballTalk.com - Josh Alper Jacksonville Jaguars QB [Blake Bortles](=) will be the team's starting quarterback for the season opener against the Houston Texans Sept. 10. [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] Bortles has the job for now, but we imagine he's on a pretty short leash as the starter. If he struggles then the team could turn to Chad Henne as the starter. The Jaguars have built a team that should play suffocating defense and run the ball well. [JAX - RB Leonard Fournette back on the field]() Source: The Florida Times-Union - Ryan O'Halloran Jacksonville Jaguars RB Leonard Fournette (foot) is participating in practice Saturday, Aug. 26. [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] Great news for the Jaguars and for fantasy owners. Fournette's preseason is done, but he's getting ready for Week 1 of the regular season. His skill set is that of a hammer who can serve as the centerpiece for the Jaguars offense. If his body holds up (ankle problems in college at LSU), Fournette has the capability to be at least a RB2 for fantasy owners in 2017. [PIT - Two receivers on bubble?]() Source: Pittsburgh Post-Gazette - Ray Fittipaldo Pittsburgh Steelers WR [Sammie Coates](=) and WR [Darrius Heyward-Bey](=) are on the fringe for the 53-man roster. These two are among several receivers fighting for the final two spots. [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] Coates is fast in a straight line but concentration problems have plagued him since his college days at Auburn. Heyward-Bey has a great size/speed combination and can contribute on special teams. We could see one but not both getting cut. (ankle) is out of the lineup for the preseason game Saturday, Aug. 26, against the New York Jets. There are some speculative reports that say Beckham could miss a game or two to begin the year. That's a worst-case scenario but one that needs to be tracked. [BAL - WR Breshad Perriman runs routes Saturday]() Source: ESPN.com - Jamison Hensley Baltimore Ravens WR [Breshad Perriman](=) (hamstring) ran some routes and caught passes before the team's preseason game Saturday, Aug. 26. [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] It's always something with Perriman. He has been sidelined since the beginning of the month because of a hamstring injury. [BUF - DT Marcell Dareus sent home]( Source: CBSSports.com - Jason La Canfora Buffalo Bills DT Marcell Dareus will not play in the preseason game against the Baltimore Ravens Saturday, Aug. 26, because he has been sent home for violating a team rule. [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] Further discipline could be in the future for Dareus. The Patriots just traded a second-round pick for Ealy and a third-round pick this spring, but he was not a good fit for their defense and they're moving on. [GB - WR Jordy Nelson wants to play a few more years]() Source: NFL.com - Jeremy Bergman Green Bay Packers WR [Jordy Nelson](=) said he is looking to play two to four more years before he decides to retire. [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] So long as he's healthy, Nelson can be an impact WR in the NFL for quite some time. Nelson has two years left on his current contract and said he would see how he feels at the end of that contact. [KC - S Eric Berry still dealing with injury](=) Source: Chiefs.com - Matt McMullen Kansas City Chiefs SS Eric Berry (heel) did not play in the preseason game Friday, Aug. 25, because he is dealing with soreness in his heel. [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] Berry is a seasoned veteran and a leader on that Chiefs defense. He doesn't need a ton of reps in the preseason. They'll keep him limited for the next week or so, but Berry should be ready for Week 1 of the regular season. [MIA - OLB Rey Maualuga may not practice](=) Source: Sun-Sentinel - Omar Kelly Miami Dolphins LB Rey Maualuga may not practice this week or play in the final preseason game because he is still working his way back into game shape, according to head coach Adam Gase. [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] With injuries ravaging their LB corps, the Dolphins could use Maualuga ASAP as a two-down run stuffer. Maualuga reported to the team 10 pounds overweight, and Gase indicated the team does not know if he will be ready for Week 1. [JAX - WR Marqise Lee eyeing return to practice]() Source: The Associated Press - Mark Long Jacksonville Jaguars WR [Marqise Lee](=) (ankle) expects to practice Saturday, Aug. 26, for the first time since suffering a high ankle sprain during practice on Aug. 13. [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] High ankle sprains are tricky to deal with and they take longer to heal than a regular sprain. Lee has the potential for around 50 catches this year, but we're not investing in the Jaguars passing game for our fantasy teams. Look elsewhere for better WR5/WR6 with upside. The team didn't pick up his fifth-year option earlier this year, so the 2014 first-round pick is set to be an unrestricted free agent in 2018.
