[ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] The injury mechanism wasn't clear, but Ware appeared to be unable to put pressure on the leg. NE - WR Julian Edelman suffers what's feared to be torn ACL Source: NFL.com - Ian Rapoport Ian Rapoport reports: "WR [Julian Edelman](=) has suffered what is believed to be a torn ACL, per sources. MRI tomorrow to confirm." [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] Edelman's injury was a non-contact knee buckle when he was planting his foot. The biggest immediate beneficiary would be Chris Hogan, who would likely get the nod in two wide sets, but we shouldn't overlook the possibility that Brandin Cooks gets more short targets. While Edelman is very productive, Danny Amendola and even Rex Burkhead, who has experience in the slot, can provide some of his tactical value. This wouldn't be a crippling injury for the Patriots pass offense, so there is likely a net gain for at least 1-2 pass catchers in this offense and only a small hit to Tom Brady. The Patriots have a plethora of talented pass catchers and personnel packages to put defenses at a disadvantage and Edelman isn't as essential as Rob Gronkowski or Cooks to this offense's success. [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] Seeing Reed play and push off of that toe like he does at 100% would be reassuring, but this kind of injury is subject to recurrence. Reed is falling to the fifth round and later and might be worth it if he can be effective in December or for most of the season up to that point, but the deck is stacked against him. [HOU - RB Alfred Blue dealing with injury](=) Source: Houston Chronicle - Aaron Wilson Houston Texans RB [Alfred Blue](=) (ankle) suffered a high ankle sprain during joint practices with the New Orleans Saints, but the team hopes he will be able to return in the near future, according to a source. [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] D'Onta Foreman should start the season as the backup and might not give the job back. He would gain RB2 value if Lamar Miller goes down. Beathard will serve as the No. 2 quarterback in the preseason game against the Minnesota Vikings Sunday, Aug. 27. Head coach Kyle Shanahan said Beathard is still competing with [Matt Barkley](=) for the primary backup job. [TB - DT Gerald McCoy may need MRI](=) Source: Tampa Bay Times - Rick Stroud Tampa Bay Buccaneers DT Gerald McCoy (pelvis, groin) is being checked out for a possible groin or pelvic injury and may require an MRI, but the team doesn't believe the injury is serious 'at this time,' according to the Tampa Bay Times' Rick Stroud. [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] McCoy is a big part of a defense that was dominant at times last year. [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] Rishard Matthews is the only healthy Top 3 receiver on the Titans, even though he is also going third among the three. Decker is still a solid choice at a reasonable 7th/8th round ADP, and all Titans receivers can make a case for being values at current ADP, along with quarterback Marcus Mariota. [NYG - Odell Beckham receiving new-age treatment]() Source: New York Post - Fred Kerber and Mark Hale Updating previous reports, New York Giants WR [Odell Beckham Jr](=). (ankle) will receive Thera-Lase cell treatment on his injured ankle Friday, Aug. 25. The treatment's website claims that Thera-Lase 'is a non-invasive, drug free laser therapy treatment which provides relief and healing for both chronic and acute pain, accelerates wound healing and reduces inflammation related to soft tissue injuries.' Former Carolina Panthers DE Jared Allen used Thera-Lase two years ago after breaking his foot and was available to play in the Super Bowl three weeks later, which matches Beckham's timeline for Week 1. [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] This underscores the possible limited or lost availability for Beckham in the early season and risk of re-injury. Marrone said he has no timetable for naming a starting quarterback. [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] There's no way to spin this as good news for the Jaguars. If Chad Henne is an upgrade at quarterback then we were already looking at one of the worst offenses in the league. [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] Newton didn't play as much as starters usually do in the third preseason game, but unlike Andrew Luck, at least we got to see him play this preseason. His volume will be low, but he'll get most of the deep shots in the Eagles offense and appears to have secured his starting role. Matthews will not play in the third preseason game but is traveling with the team for the game. McDermott said the team does not need to see Matthews play in the preseason. It's still hard to picture any Bills target greatly outperforming expectations this year, no matter how low they are.
