[[youtube]]()[[podcast]]([[spotify]](=) [] 1. MIN: Kirk Cousins torn Achilles confirmed [Source: Vikings.com]( Updating a previous report, Minnesota Vikings QB Kirk Cousins (Achilles) was confirmed to have torn his Achilles, according to sources Monday, Oct. 30. Our view: Cousins is done for the season, and it's possible he's played his final snap for the Vikings. He's set to be a free agent in 2024. The Vikings have rookie QB Jaren Hall or veteran Nick Mullens to compete for the starting job. We'll see if they make a move (trade or free agent) to add a more experienced quarterback to the room. Lots of rumors are flying around including Jameis Winston to the Vikings which is a fun one to imagine. The good news is we'll have official word soon with the trade deadline Tuesday. [Back to Top](#top) [] 2. NE: Kendrick Bourne out for season [Source: NFL Network - Mike Garafolo]( New England Patriots WR Kendrick Bourne (knee) suffered a torn anterior cruciate ligament in his right knee in Week 8 and was lost for the season. Our view: This just flat-out sucks. Not much is exciting in the Patriots' offense, but Bourne was a bright spot for the passing game. He was in the midst of a breakout season in 2023, catching 37 passes for 406 yards and four touchdowns through eight games. Rookie WR Demario Douglas (dubbed 7-11 by Cecil and Sigmund on The Audible because he's always open) should be a hot waiver wire addition this week as he steps into a larger role. [Back to Top](#top) = = [] 3. PIT: Kenny Pickett uncertain for TNF [Source: ESPN - Adam Schefter]( Updating previous reports, Pittsburgh Steelers QB Kenny Pickett (rib) is 'up in the air' for the team's game against the Tennessee Titans on Thursday, Nov. 2, according to ESPN's Adam Schefter, who adds that the team wants to see how he's feeling Monday, Oct. 30, to get a sense for his potential availability. Our view: It's a short week for the Steelers, and Mitchell Trubisky may have to start. Rib injuries come down to pain tolerance, and Pickett is tough. He might be able to work through the pain and add more protection around his ribs to get out there and play against the Titans in Week 9. [Back to Top](#top) [] 4. NYG: Daniel Jones cleared [Source: NFL Network - Ian Rapoport]() New York Giants QB Daniel Jones (neck) was cleared to return Monday, Oct. 30, after dealing with left side weakness, stemming from a neck injury. Our view: Neck injuries are nothing to mess around with. Giants HC Brian Daboll said he expects Jones to practice on Wednesday. With Tyrod Taylor still week to week (ribs), the Giants could really use Jones in Week 9 against the Raiders. [Back to Top](#top) [] 5. LAR: Matthew Stafford uncertain for Week 9 [Source: ESPN.com - Sarah Barshop](=) Updating earlier reports, Los Angeles Rams head coach Sean McVay indicated he didn't know whether QB Matthew Stafford (thumb) would miss time after suffering a thumb injury during the team's Week 8 loss to the Dallas Cowboys. Our view: Stafford had his thumb wrapped up after injuring it on a two-point conversion, but he was unable to return to the game. It didn't seem to bother him, but we'll have to see what he can do this week in practice. [Back to Top](#top) [] 6. NYG: Tyrod Taylor week to week [Source: ESPN - Adam Schefter]() New York Giants QB Tyrod Taylor (ribs) was discharged from the hospital and is considered week to week, according to sources Monday, Oct. 30. Our view: Daniel Jones (neck) has been cleared for contact and is expected to practice on Wednesday as the Giants prepare for Week 9 against the Raiders. We'll see how Taylor progresses. With Taylor banged up, don't be surprised if the Giants begin working out veteran quarterbacks to potentially add for depth. [Back to Top](#top) [] 7. TEN: Will Levis may start Week 9 [Source: TennesseeTitans.com - Jim Wyatt]() Tennessee Titans QB Will Levis may get the start in Week 9 against the Pittsburgh Steelers if Ryan Tannehill (ankle) is unavailable, according to sources Monday, Oct. 30. Our view: Tannehill missed Week 8, and Levis came through with a great performance. The rookie could be the franchise quarterback of the future, so Levis may be their guy from here on out if he continues to play well. BUF: Leonard Fournette joining PS [Source: NFL.com]() Updating a previous report, free-agent RB Leonard Fournette (Buccaneers) will be signed to the Buffalo Bills practice squad, according to NFL Network's Tom Pelissero. Our view: The Bills could use some thunder in their backfield, and that's where Fournette could come into play. We'll see how fast he can get into football shape, then we'll see if the Bills bring him up to the active roster. After that, we'll have to see how much they hand him the ball. [Back to Top](#top) [] 9. CHI: Justin Fields still week to week [Source: NFL Network - Ian Rapoport](=) Chicago Bears QB Justin Fields (thumb) is still considered week to week and will not start in Week 9 against the New Orleans Saints, according to sources Monday, Oct. 30. Our view: Fields is going to take more time to heal. The reports have indicated that rookie QB Tyson Bagent will start again in Week 9. [Back to Top](#top) [] 10. TB: Baker Mayfield playing through pain [Source: ESPN.com - Jeremy Fowler]() Tampa Bay Buccaneers QB Baker Mayfield (knee) has recently played through a left knee contusion that has caused him some discomfort, according to sources. Our view: That sounds about right. It appears Mayfield will continue to play through it as long as he can manage the pain, as this report notes that a recent MRI came back negative. [Back to Top](#top) [] 11. WAS: Curtis Samuel getting further tests [Source: The Washington Post - Nicki Jhabvala]( Washington Commanders WR Curtis Samuel (foot) will undergo further tests on the injury he suffered in Week 8 against the Philadelphia Eagles, according to sources Monday, Oct. 30. Our view: Samuel was banged up entering the game on Sunday. If he has to miss more time or is not quite himself, it could lead to more targets for WR Jahan Dotson.
