TEN: Will Levis debuts with four touchdowns [Source: ESPN]() Tennessee Titans QB Will Levis completed 19-of-29 passes for 238 yards, four touchdowns and no interceptions in Week 8 against the Atlanta Falcons in his first NFL start in place of the injured QB Ryan Tannehill (ankle). Our view: Levis hooked up with DeAndre Hopkins for three touchdowns in what could be a key connection for keeping the Titans playoff hopes alive. Levis has some 2QB/Superflex value and Tennessee won't be in any hurry to push Ryan Tannehill back on the field while his ankle is healing as Levis doubled his touchdown pass total on the season. [Back to Top](#top) [] 2. TEN: DeAndre Hopkins scores three times [Source: ESPN]() Tennessee Titans WR DeAndre Hopkins registered four catches for a game-high 128 yards and three touchdowns on six targets in Week 8 against the Atlanta Falcons. Our view: Hopkins mauled A.J. Terrell while the ball was in the air on his first score, but got the benefit of veteran deference from the refs. Rookie second round pick Will Levis was confident targeting him downfield after that, and Hopkins did the rest. After lowering expectations for Hopkins and wondering if he'll be traded before the deadline, now it appears we have a good connection brewing and should see Hopkins remain a Titans for the rest of the season. [Back to Top](#top) = = [] 3. DET: Amon-Ra St. Brown questionable for Week 8 [Source: DetroitLions.com]() Detroit Lions WR Amon-Ra St. Brown (illness) has been added to the injury report for Week 8 because of an illness and is listed as questionable. Our view: Try to add Kalif Raymond or Jameson Williams if you can to hedge against St. Brown being a surprise inactive on Monday night football. [Back to Top](#top) [] 4. NO: Outstanding performance for Rashid Shaheed [Source: ESPN.com]() New Orleans Saints WR Rashid Shaheed caught three passes for 153 yards and one touchdown against the Indianapolis Colts in Week 8. He was targeted three times during the game. Our view: Shaheed was getting behind the defense all afternoon and caught long balls from two different passers. He is just a what the heck flex as a part-time player, but this week he demonstrated his ceiling. With a home matchup against the Bears and hot quarterback next week, Shaheed will be a tempting WR3/Flex play. [Back to Top](#top) [] 5. ARI: McBride breaks out in first game without Ertz [Source: ESPN]() Trey McBride caught 10 of 14 targets for 95 yards and a score in the loss to the Ravens. Our view: McBride announced his presence as a fantasy TE1 for at least the next three weeks as the Cardinals continue to throw to the tight end about as much as any team in the league. Even if Kyler Murray is back next week, he loved throwing to Zach Ertz before he went down last year. Marquise Brown added a touchdown on a day filled with short receptions, but McBride will loom large in this offense and fantasy football leagues going forward. [Back to Top](#top) [] 6. BAL: Gus Edwards scores three times [Source: ESPN]() Gus Edwards ran for 80 yards on 19 carries and scored three touchdowns in the win over Arizona. He also caught both of his targets for 14 yards. Our view: Edwards made a resounding statement as the Ravens had been linked to Derrick Henry in trade rumors all week. Edwards asserted himself as the clear lead back and a strong RB2 play going forward if the Ravens don't acquire Henry. Lamar Jackson and the passing game was quiet as the Ravens led throughout and Edwards accounted for three of the four offensive touchdowns. [Back to Top](#top) [] 7. ATL: Desmond Ridder benched [Source: NFL.com - Grant Gordon](=) Atlanta Falcons QB Desmond Ridder has been benched during the Week 8 game and has been replaced by QB Taylor Heinicke. Our view: Ridder was evaluated for a concussion and might have been kept out partially as an injury concern. Heinicke wasn't more accurate than Ridder, but he was able to make more happen as a downfield passer, even with #1 receiver Drake London leaving with a groin injury. We'll be watching to see if Heinicke will get the start against Minnesota, and whether London will be able to play in Week 9. [Back to Top](#top) [] 8. DAL: CeeDee Lamb catches two TDs [Source: ESPN.com]() Dallas Cowboys WR CeeDee Lamb caught 12 passes for 158 yards and two touchdowns against the Los Angeles Rams in Week 8. He was targeted 14 times during the game. Lamb also rushed for 12 yards on one carry. Our view: Lamb set career highs in both yards and catches. He was cold heading into the bye, but the team clearly came up with a plan to get Lamb heated up in Week 8. He could be one of the most valuable players in fantasy football in the second half of the season if this is the mold for the passing game going forward. [Back to Top](#top) [] 9. NO: Derek Carr plays well in Week 8 [Source: ESPN.com]() New Orleans Saints QB Derek Carr went 19-for-27 for 310 yards and two touchdowns against the Indianapolis Colts in Week 8. Our view: Carr was successful passing deep to Rashid Shaheed a couple of times to help jumpstart the offense. He had his best fantasy performance of the season, a reminder to consider quarterbacks against the Colts - although next week that is Bryce Young as the Colts travel to Carolina. Carr will get to face the Bears and deserves some QB2/Superflex consideration. [Back to Top](#top) [] 10. NO: Taysom Hill accounts for two TDs [Source: ESPN.com]() New Orleans Saints QB Taysom Hill rushed for 63 yards and two touchdowns on nine carries against the Indianapolis Colts in Week 8. He also went 1-for-2 for 44 yards and caught one pass for 14 yards during the game. Our view: Hill was clearly a primary red zone option as a runner, and he was able to hook up with Rashid Shaheed in the deep passing game to pad his Week 8 value. He'll be a streaming tight end option against the Bears next week and for as long as he is used the way he was this week. [Back to Top](#top) [] 11. DAL: Four touchdowns for Dak Prescott [Source: ESPN.com]() Dallas Cowboys QB Dak Prescott went 25-for-31 for 304 yards, four touchdowns and one interception against the Los Angeles Rams in Week 8. He also rushed for 19 yards on four carries during the game. Our view: Prescott was nearly flawless against the Rams in his best fantasy performance of the year. Hopefully this is a sign that Mike McCarthy and Brian Schottenheimer figured out how to get this passing game going during the bye. Prescott will have to match the Eagles potent offense in the NFC East showdown next week. [Back to Top](#top) [] 12. JAX: Travis Etienne totals 149 yards, score [Source: ESPN]() Jacksonville Jaguars RB Travis Etienne Jr. rushed 24 times for 79 yards in Week 8 against the Pittsburgh Steelers, while adding three grabs for 70 yards and a touchdown on his six targets. Our view: Etienne got free for a long touchdown reception to make the day of fantasy teams that counted on him. He did leave briefly with an ankle issue, but has a perfectly timed bye week coming up. [Back to Top](#top) [] 13. MIA: Tyreek Hill continues outstanding play [Source: ESPN.com]() Miami Dolphins WR Tyreek Hill caught eight passes for 112 yards and one touchdown against the New England Patriots in Week 8. He was targeted 13 times during the game. Our view: Hill started out this week missing practice and the words about his injury from the team were ominous. He returned to practice and didn't even have an injury designation on Friday's report. Hill didn't look limited at all and should be ready to put on a show for German NFL fans next week against the Chiefs. [Back to Top](#top) [] 14. SF: Kittle huge in loss [Source: ESPN]() George Kittle caught nine of 11 targets for 149 yards in the loss to Cincinnati. Our view: Kittle is notoriously boom/bust, but booms like this make enduring the bust weeks worth it at a position where 100-yard games are few and far between. He should be well-rested and ready for a big second half after his bye next week, but Deebo Samuel could return to soon to widen Brock Purdy's target tree. [Back to Top](#top) [] 15. LAR: Puka Nacua held to 43 yards [Source: ESPN.com]() Los Angeles Rams WR Puka Nacua caught three passes for 43 yards against the Dallas Cowboys in Week 8. He was targeted seven times during the game. Our view: Nacua and Kupp could have bleak outlooks for Week 9 and beyond if Matthew Stafford's thumb injury keeps him out. The Rams go to Green Bay next week, and if Brett Rypien is starting, we'll want to plug the Packers defense into lineups. [Back to Top](#top) [] 16. MIA: Jaylen Waddle posts 121 yards, TD [Source: ESPN.com]() Miami Dolphins WR Jaylen Waddle caught seven passes for 121 yards and one touchdown against the New England Patriots in Week 8. He was targeted 12 times during the game. Our view: Waddle had his biggest game of the year by a large margin, and it came the week after he struggled with back spasms. Waddle is coming on and we shouldn't get any questions about whether to start him against the Chiefs in Germany next Sunday. [Back to Top](#top) [] 17. NO: Alvin Kamara posts 100 total yards [Source: ESPN.com]() New Orleans Saints RB Alvin Kamara rushed for 59 yards and one touchdown on 17 carries against the Indianapolis Colts in Week 8. He also caught four passes for 51 yards and one touchdown during the game. Our view: Kamara's value hasn't been hurt by the return of Jamaal Williams, and he was able to score today even though Taysom Hill also scored twice. Kamara was also an elite play this week even though he wasn't given an inordinate number of short passes as Derek Carr spread his wings in the downfield passing game. Kamara is looking like one of the biggest values in 2023 fantasy drafts. [Back to Top](#top) The best things sent in the Footballguys Group Chat today: - 🤯 Tyreek Hill is playing out of this world. NYJ: Garrett Wilson hits triple digits [Source: ESPN]() New York Jets WR Garrett Wilson ended up with game highs of seven receptions, 100 yards and 13 targets in Week 8 against the New York Giants. Our view: Wilson has posted back-to-back 17 point games in PPR leagues. This is going better than expected when Aaron Rodgers went down in Week 1, and Rodgers could still get back on the field this season if his astounding recovery continues. [Back to Top](#top) [] 19. IND: Jonathan Taylor close to 100 yards [Source: ESPN.com]() Indianapolis Colts RB Jonathan Taylor rushed for 95 yards on 12 carries against the New Orleans Saints in Week 8. He also caught one pass for two yards during the game. Our view: Taylor was actually less valuable than Zack Moss today because Moss scored, but he was explosive and showed why we can't bench him even in a 50-50 committee on a losing team. Moss was a game-time decision going into this one, so Taylor could get the backfield to himself eventually if Moss's injury issues pile up. [Back to Top](#top) [] 20. TEN: Derrick Henry hits the century mark [Source: ESPN]() Tennessee Titans RB Derrick Henry rolled up 101 rushing yards on 22 carries in Week 8 against the Atlanta Falcons while cashing in his four targets for four catches and 21 yards. It was his second 100-yard game of the season. Our view: Henry's outlook brightened significantly even though there isn't a trade on the horizon as of Sunday. Will Levis revived the pass offense and now it's easier to envision more positive game scripts for Henry even if he remains a Titan. He'll take aim at the Steelers defense Thursday if he's not dealt before Tuesday's deadline. [Back to Top](#top) [] 21. ATL: Bijan Robinson scores first rushing TD [Source: ESPN]() Atlanta Falcons RB Bijan Robinson rushed 11 times for 62 yards and his first NFL rushing touchdown in Week 8 against the Tennessee Titans, and he did not have any receptions despite five targets. Our view: Robinson didn't have any headaches today, but he was still a fantasy headache despite his first NFL rushing score and an efficient day running the ball. This offense isn't getting any better and Robinson isn't getting the kind of game scripts that will create ceiling games. He isn't looking like a fantasy RB1 or maybe even a fantasy RB2 heading into a Week 9 game against the Vikings. [Back to Top](#top) [] 22. MIA: Tua Tagovailoa surpasses 300-yard mark [Source: ESPN.com]() Miami Dolphins QB Tua Tagovailoa went 30-for-45 for 324 yards, three touchdowns and one interception against New England Patriots in Week 8. Our view: Tagovailoa did much better for fantasy than he did in the first matchup vs. the Patriots, and he remained undefeated against them. He has the classic boom/bust profile and it's hard to find a good pattern to predict which weeks will be up and which will be down. He'll face Patrick Mahomes in Frankfurt, Germany next Sunday at a 930 AM start time stateside. [Back to Top](#top) [] 23. CIN: Burrow, Mixon productive coming out of bye [Source: ESPN]() Joe Burrow completed 28 of 32 passes for 283 yards for three touchdowns and added 43 yards on six carries as a runner. Joe Mixon posted 87 yards on 16 carries and a score, catching all three of his targets for 23 yards. Our view: The Bengals offense is back to normal with Burrow as accurate and mobile as ever coming off of the bye. Burrow is back to being an everyweek fantasy QB1 going into a matchup against the Bills, and Mixon is a strong RB2 going forward. The Bengals have made it through adversity and now look like one of the best fantasy offenses in the league. [Back to Top](#top) [] 24. SEA: Lockett strong despite being game-time decision [Source: ESPN]() Tyler Lockett led the Seahawks with eight catches on nine targets for 81 yards and a score in the win over Cleveland. He was questionable with a hamstring injury going into the game. Our view: Lockett showed no ill effects from the injury and was the most reliable target for Geno Smith. He should be in lineups against the Ravens next week, while DK Metcalf's 14 targets were encouraging, even if he only caught five of them. Jaxon Smith-Njigba scored the game-winning touchdown, but he only got four targets and is probably just a bench stash with both Seahawks starting receivers back to their normal selves. [Back to Top](#top) [] 25. CLE: Cooper, Njoku post solid lines with backup quarterback [Source: ESPN]() Amari Cooper caught 6 of 11 targets for 89 yards, and David Njoku caught 4 of 8 targets for 77 yards and a score in the loss to the Seahawks. Our view: This is heartening if you have Cooper or Njoku while the Deshaun Watson injury situation continues to be vague and unsettling. Cooper has had two good weeks in three game with P.J. Walker, and Njoku just had his most valuable fantasy performance of the year with Walker. Elijah Moore seems to be the passcatcher whose value takes the biggest hit while Watson sits. The Cardinals are up next and both Cooper and Njoku have made a good case to play them whether Watson is back or not. [Back to Top](#top) [] 26. DEN: Williams posts best game of season under heavy workload [Source: ESPN]() Javonte Williams got his biggest workload of the year with 27 carries. He gained 85 yards and caught all three of his targets for 13 yards and a touchdown in the win over the Chiefs. Our view: It took this long for the Broncos to control a game from beginning to end, but now we can see how central Williams will be in the game plan if the team can have a good effort in all three phases and keep everything on the script that Sean Payton prefers. Williams should be considered a fantasy RB2 with his value trending up after next week's bye. [Back to Top](#top) [] 27. KC: Mahomes not his normal self with illness in loss to Broncos [Source: ESPN]() Patrick Mahomes completed 24 of 38 passes for 241 yards with no touchdowns and two interceptions. He added 20 yards as a runner on three carries, but also lost a fumble. Our view: Mahomes was reportedly ill going into the game and you could tell by the performance. There was no reason to pull him despite the report because we've seen many players grit their teeth and produce through injuries, but Mahomes wasn't up to it against a spirited Broncos team that finally beat him for the first time. It's also Mahomes first loss on the road in the division. He should make this a distant memory on Sunday against the Dolphins in Germany. [Back to Top](#top) [] 28. ATL: Drake London suffers injury [Source: NFL.com]( Atlanta Falcons WR Drake London (groin) suffered a groin injury during the Week 8 game and is considered questionable to return. Our view: London's value was headed up with Taylor Heinicke replacing an injured Desmond Ridder, but the bump was short-lived. He would miss a matchup with the Vikings if he can't go next week. There's no waiver pickup to try to capture the freed up targets in this messy, inefficient passing game. [Back to Top](#top) [] 29. CLE: Hunt leads three-headed backfield [Source: ESPN]() Jerome Ford was a surprise active and got nine carries for 37 yards, while Kareem Hunt led the Browns with 14 carries for 55 yards and a score, and Pierre Strong got 10 carries for 41 yards. Strong and Hunt both added receptions for 41 and 12 yards, respectively. Our view: We have to assume that Ford will go back to being the lead back next week with his ankle hopefully feeling even better, but Hunt could still get the short yardage touchdowns, and Strong has made a case to stay in the rotation with his speed. Both Ford and Hunt are worth RB2/Flex plays against the Cardinals defense that just gave up three scores to Gus Edwards. [Back to Top](#top) [] 30. JAX: Calvin Ridley makes six receptions [Source: ESPN]() Jacksonville Jaguars WR Calvin Ridley ended up with six catches and 83 yards on 10 targets in Week 8 against the Pittsburgh Steelers. Our view: Ridley had a bounceback week against a Steelers secondary that can be generous when the pass rush isn't getting home. On Thursday, the Steelers will try to corral a red hot DeAndre Hopkins while Ridley and his teammates get to rest during a bye week. [Back to Top](#top) [] 31. PIT: Kenny Pickett ruled out [Source: Steelers.com - Burt Lauten]() Updating a previous report, Pittsburgh Steelers QB Kenny Pickett (rib) suffered a rib injury during the Week 8 game and has been ruled out. Our view: Mitchell Trubisky is in. The Steelers offense goes from being a bottom five unit to being in the bottom five of NFL offenses. The Titans are on tap for a Thursday night game, so Pickett will almost certainly miss Week 9. [Back to Top](#top) [] 32. IND: Seven receptions for Josh Downs [Source: ESPN.com]() Indianapolis Colts WR Josh Downs caught seven passes for 72 yards against the New Orleans Saints in Week 8. He was targeted nine times during the game. Our view: Downs has posted at least 12 points in PPR leagues for four straight weeks now. He has been a solid play whether the downfield passing game is clicking or not and he has been the best rookie wide receiver pick since he was cheaper than Jordan Addison or Zay Flowers. He should be in as a WR3/Flex against the Panthers next week. [Back to Top](#top) [] 33. NYJ: Breece Hall doesn't do much on ground [Source: ESPN]() New York Jets RB Breece Hall rushed 12 times for just 17 yards in Week 8 against the New York Giants, but he was able to go for six receptions, 76 yards and a touchdown on nine targets. Our view: Hall was contained as a runner by a resurgent Giants defense, but he broke free for a 50-yard touchdown to still give his team and fantasy players a productive afternoon. He'll have an easier matchup against the Chargers next week. [Back to Top](#top) [] 34. NYG: Tyrod Taylor taken to hospital [Source: NFL.com]( New York Giants QB Tyrod Taylor (ribs) left the Week 8 game early because of injured ribs and has been taken to a local hospital for further evaluation. Our view: Tommy DeVito is in. Daniel Jones might not be ready to play next week, so the Raiders could be facing a third-string UDFA rookie quarterback next week.
