[[youtube]]([[podcast]]([[spotify]](=) [] 1. SF: Brock Purdy iffy for Week 8 [Source: NFL Network - Ian Rapoport](=) San Francisco 49ers QB Brock Purdy (concussion) is in some danger of missing Week 8, and the practice Friday, Oct. 27, will be a big one. Our view: That there's any chance at all of Purdy playing is a bit surprising since he was concussed on Monday night. We have Sam Darnold penciled in to start, but Purdy would be a more attractive QB2/Superflex, if not a low-end QB1 if he can go against Cincinnati. [Back to Top](#top) [] 2. HOU: Tank Dell on track to play [Source: Sirius XM NFL Radio - Adam Caplan]( Houston Texans WR Tank Dell (concussion) fully participated in practice Friday, Oct. 27, and is not on the injury report for Week 8. Our view: Good news for Houston and this offense. [Back to Top](#top) = = [] 3. NYG: Daniel Jones out for Week 8 [Source: ESPN.com - Jordan Raanan]() New York Giants QB Daniel Jones (neck) will not play against the New York Jets in Week 8, according to sources Friday. Oct. 27. Our view: Tyrod Taylor will start again vs. the Jets, but the matchup is tough enough that he's not a preferred QB2/Superflex option despite the strong result last week against the Commanders. It's not clear when Jones will return to the lineup as he hasn't been cleared for contact yet. [Back to Top](#top) [] 4. MIA: Tyreek Hill expected to play [Source: The Miami Herald - Barry Jackson]( Miami Dolphins WR Tyreek Hill (hip) is expected to play against the New England Patriots in Week 8, according to sources Friday, Oct. 27. Our view: The early week injury and absence scare is behind us... for now. We'll monitor this situation, but hopefully Hill produces and looks his usual self against the Patriots. The team has a well-timed bye coming up in Week 10 after an overseas showdown with the Chiefs next week. [Back to Top](#top) [] 5. CLE: Jerome Ford practicing Friday [Source: The Cleveland Plain Dealer - Mary Kay Cabot]() Cleveland Browns RB Jerome Ford (ankle) returned to practice Friday, Oct. 27. Our view: Ford could play this week, but it's still unlikely. If he does, he'll just be a what the heck flex with Kareem Hunt and Pierre Strong playing possibly larger than usual roles in the backfield. If Ford is out as expected, both Hunt and Strong are flex plays at Seattle, with Hunt more likely to score and Strong more likely to be effective running the ball. [Back to Top](#top) [] 6. MIN: T.J. Hockenson a go for Week 8 [Source: The Athletic - Alec Lewis](=) Minnesota Vikings TE T.J. Hockenson (foot) will play through the foot injury in Week 8 versus the Green Bay Packers that has limited him in practice all week, according to head coach Kevin O'Connell. Our view: Good news if you are counting on him. The Vikings bye isn't until Week 13, so hopefully Hockenson's foot can stay in a holding pattern instead of getting worse without rest. [Back to Top](#top) [] 7. PIT: Pittsburgh's Week 8 injury report [Source: Steelers.com]( Pittsburgh Steelers CB James Pierre (ankle) did not practice on Friday, Oct. 27, and is listed as questionable for Week 8 against the Jacksonville Jaguars. CB Levi Wallace (foot) and CB Joey Porter Jr. (calf) were limited in practice for a second consecutive day on Friday and are also listed as questionable. LB T.J. Watt (heel) was also limited in practice on Friday but is expected to play. RB Anthony McFarland (knee), LB Cole Holcomb (ankle), OG Nate Herbig (illness), WR Diontae Johnson (hamstring), DT Cameron Heyward (groin) and DT Larry Ogunjobi (shoulder) practiced in full on Friday and no longer appear on the injury report. OG Isaac Seumalo (rest) and CB Patrick Peterson (rest) were not given a practice designation for a second straight day on Friday but is also expected to be available. Our view: Johnson being removed from the injury report is a relief after his Week 8 status seemed to be in question following a missed practice yesterday. He's safe to play as a WR3/Flex against the Jaguars. [Back to Top](#top) [] 8. LAC: Week 8 injury report for LA Chargers [Source: Chargers.com]( Los Angeles Chargers DB Deane Leonard (hamstring) and WR Joshua Palmer (knee) were limited in practice on Friday, Oct. 27, and are listed as questionable for Week 8 versus the Chicago Bears. TE Gerald Everett (hip), S Alohi Gilman (heel), WR Jalen Guyton (knee) and DT Otito Ogbonnia (knee) practiced in full on Friday but are also listed as questionable. WR Keenan Allen (back) was added to the injury report following a limited practice on Friday but is expected to play. RB Austin Ekeler (ankle), QB Justin Herbert (finger), DT Sebastian Joseph-Day (knee), LB Amen Ogbongbemiga (groin), OT Trey Pipkins (ankle) and OT Rashawn Slater (shoulder) practiced in full on Friday and no longer appear on the injury report. Our view: Palmer should play, but this game is on Sunday night, so we might be not certain when early games kick off. If you have a similarly ranked player you're weighing against Palmer as your WR3/Flex, you might want to leave Palmer on the bench. [Back to Top](#top) [] 9. WAS: Curtis Samuel listed as questionable [Source: Sirius XM NFL Radio - Adam Caplan]( Washington Commanders WR Curtis Samuel (foot) was limited during practice Friday, Oct. 27, and is listed as questionable for Week 8. Our view: This could be a Jahan Dotson week if Samuel is limited or inactive. Samuel should probably be out of WR3/Flex consideration coming into the matchup with the Eagles less than 100%. [Back to Top](#top) [] 10. NYG: Darren Waller questionable for Week 8 [Source: Sirius XM NFL Radio - Adam Caplan]( New York Giants TE Darren Waller (hamstring) was limited during practice Friday, Oct. 27, and is listed as questionable for Week 8. Our view: Waller should play after posting his best game of the year in the Week 7 win, but check back Sunday morning to be sure. Tyrod Taylor staying in at quarterback should help his outlook. [Back to Top](#top) [] 11. PIT: Diontae Johnson back to work on Friday [Source: Pittsburgh Post-Gazette - Brian Batko](=) Pittsburgh Steelers WR Diontae Johnson (hamstring) took part in individual drills on Friday, Oct. 27, after missing the team's practice on Thursday. Our view: This puts Johnson on track to play, but there's more risk of him not being as effective or even leaving the game if his hamstring isn't responding well. He said Thursday was not a rest day. He felt tightness in a different spot in his hamstring, but feels fine today. [Back to Top](#top) [] 12. MIA: Jeff Wilson positioned for more work in Week 8? [Source: The Miami Herald - Barry Jackson]( Miami Dolphins RB Jeff Wilson Jr. was supposed to see more work in Week 7 versus the Philadelphia Eagles than he received, but head coach Mike McDaniel talked on Friday, Oct. 27, about backing away from that plan when the game went in a 'certain direction.' However, he told reporters on Friday that he has a 'heightened desire' to get Wilson some touches in Week 8 against the New England Patriots.'We were planning on getting Jeff some touches last week. We always get frustrated when the game goes a certain direction. I have a heightened desire to get him some touches this week but we will let the game play out and let the players on the field decide how many touches they (receive) by their performance,' McDaniel said. Our view: "Some touches" doesn't sound like significant fantasy value, but Wilson is still worth holding to see if those touches come at the goal line and on passing downs. It's reasonable to drop Wilson in short bench leagues with this tepid endorsement. [Back to Top](#top) That'll do it for today, Folks.
