Prosise bothered by minor groin injury]( Source: NFL.com - Kevin Patra Seattle Seahawks RB [C.J. Prosise](=) (groin) was held out of the preseason game against the Minnesota Vikings Friday, Aug. 18, due to a minor groin issue, according to head coach Pete Carroll. [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] A groin injury can linger if not given proper time to heal. Prosise is a dangerous weapon for Seattle's offense and he'll be competing for snaps with guys like Eddie Lacy and Thomas Rawls in the backfield. [Back to Top](#top) --------------------------------------------------------------- [] 2. [DET - RB Ameer Abdullah the clear No. 1 RB]( Source: ESPN.com - Michael Rothstein Detroit Lions RB [Ameer Abdullah](=) has looked 'sharp' throughout training camp, 'appears to have retained speed and agility' he had prior to his injury last season and should get almost all the work on early downs for Detroit this season, according to ESPN's Michael Rothstein. [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] Abdullah is the lead back, but the Lions backfield is going to be split three ways. Behind Abdullah we'll see Theo Riddick as the pass-catching back with Zach Zenner chipping in on short yardage and goal line situations. [Back to Top](#top) --------------------------------------------------------------- [] 3. [SEA - TE Jimmy Graham dealing with back spasms]( Source: NFL.com - Kevin Patra Seattle Seahawks TE [Jimmy Graham](=) (back, knee) sat out the preseason game against the Minnesota Vikings Friday, Aug. 18, due to back spasms, according to head coach Pete Carroll. [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] Just get Graham to the regular season and he will ball out. Graham is a TE1 for fantasy owners with a current ADP of TE5 (5.10) in 12-team PPR leagues. [Back to Top](#top) --------------------------------------------------------------- [] 4. [CAR - QB Cam Newton to make debut next week]() Source: ESPN.com - David Newton Carolina Panthers QB [Cam Newton](=) (shoulder) will be ready to make his preseason debut against the Jacksonville Jaguars on Thursday, Aug. 26, according to head coach Ron Rivera. [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] The third week of the preseason is the dress rehearsal for the regular season. Newton has been out of action so far this preseason as he recovers from offseason shoulder surgery. The Panthers added multiple weapons around Newton for 2017, and fantasy owners are taking the veteran quarterback off the board near the mid-portion of the 9th round. [Back to Top](#top) --------------------------------------------------------------- [] 5. [TEN - TE Jonnu Smith shows well Saturday](=) Source: ESPN.com Tennessee Titans TE Jonnu Smith caught 5-of-7 targets for 47 yards versus the Carolina Panthers on Saturday, Aug. 19. [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] He's Delanie Walker 2.0 basically. Smith won't have much fantasy value while Walker is ahead of him on the depth chart, but you should have a lot of love for him in dynasty formats. [Back to Top](#top) --------------------------------------------------------------- [] 6. [TEN - RB Derrick Henry hits pay dirt twice]( Source: ESPN.com Tennessee Titans RB [Derrick Henry](=) finished with 36 yards rushing and two touchdowns on 16 carries and added three receptions for 17 yards against the Carolina Panthers on Saturday, Aug. 19. [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] Henry is the best handcuff in fantasy football. Yes, DeMarco Murray is the starter but Henry has star quality himself. If something happens to Murray (who is missing time with a hamstring injury), Henry can be a RB1 for fantasy owners. Take him if you get Murray in your draft, and take Henry to "jock block" if you don't get Murray in your draft. [Back to Top](#top) --------------------------------------------------------------- [] 7. [JAX - RB T.J. Yeldon sitting out]() Source: The Florida Times-Union - Ryan O'Halloran Jacksonville Jaguars RB [T.J. Yeldon](=) (hamstring) is not participating in practice Saturday, Aug. 19. [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] Yeldon is trying to just earn a spot somewhere on the depth chart at this point in his career. He's currently third at the RB position behind rookie Leonard Fournette and veteran Chris Ivory. Yeldon's fantasy stock in dynasty leagues is incredibly low with his play and career outlook. [Back to Top](#top) --------------------------------------------------------------- [] 8. [PIT - OLB James Harrison likely to sit out]() Source: Pittsburgh Tribune-Review - Chris Adamski Pittsburgh Steelers LB James Harrison likely will not play in the second preseason game against the Atlanta Falcons Sunday, Aug. 20, according to head coach Mike Tomlin. Harrison has participated in only one of the 16 practices during training camp. [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] Harrison is a seasoned pro and doesn't need every preseason rep. At 39 years old, Harrison has found the fountain of youth over the last three years with the Steelers. If healthy, gathering in around 5.0 sacks this year would be a sound projection for the veteran. [Back to Top](#top) --------------------------------------------------------------- [] 9. [BAL - RB Danny Woodhead not on field]() Source: ESPN.com - Jamison Hensley Baltimore Ravens RB [Danny Woodhead](=) (undisclosed) did not participate in practice Saturday, Aug. 19. [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] This could just be a day of rest for Woodhead. The Ravens don't have a ton of weapons on offense, and Woodhead can be one of the players QB Joe Flacco relies on the most. We could see him catching 60-70 passes for the Ravens this year. [Back to Top](#top) --------------------------------------------------------------- [] 10. [BUF - Dion Dawkins may start Week 1](=) Source: The Buffalo News - Vic Carucci Buffalo Bills OT Dion Dawkins appears the most likely candidate to start at left tackle in Week 1 if OT Cordy Glenn (foot) is not ready to play, in the opinion of The Buffalo News' Vic Carucci. [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] The rookie from Temple was seen as more of a developmental player coming out in the 2017 NFL draft. A late second-round pick, Dawkins has the length and strength to play tackle at the pro level. He's a power player who will struggle with inside stunts and twists. [Back to Top](#top) --------------------------------------------------------------- [] 11. [BUF - Buffalo works out TE Chase Ford](=) Source: SiriusXM Radio - Adam Caplan Free-agent TE [Chase Ford](=) (Browns) worked out for the Buffalo Bills Saturday, Aug. 19, [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] Ford has bounced around to four different NFL teams in only a few years as a pro. An undrafted free agent out of the University of Miami in 2012, Ford hasn't been able to latch on for long at any of his stops. [Back to Top](#top) --------------------------------------------------------------- [] 12. [JAX - RB Leonard Fournette should be ready for opener]( Source: FirstCoastNews.com - Mike Kaye Jacksonville Jaguars RB Leonard Fournette (foot) told reporters Saturday, Aug. 19, he expects to be ready for Week 1 but acknowledged his exact return date is up to the coaches. [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] Fournette is getting drafted as a RB1 by fantasy owners right now. With a current ADP of RB11 (2.09), Fournette will have to 'hit' essentially to pay off. We love his skill set, but things are a bit of a mess with a move to a quarterback competition in Jacksonville. That offense...and that quarterback situation...don't make us feel good about the fantasy outlook for the Jags. [Back to Top](#top) --------------------------------------------------------------- [] 13. [WAS - RB Samaje Perine closing the gap?](=) Source: ESPN.com - John Keim Washington Redskins rookie RB Samaje Perine impressed the team with the way he bounced back from some miscues in the team's preseason opener on Thursday, Aug. 10, versus the Baltimore Ravens - both with how he responded in the game and during practice this week. [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] Perine is going to push for snaps behind starter Rob Kelley. If we see Kelley fail to impress, Perine has the power and toughness to take over in the backfield. Once you get to the 10th round of your draft, consider Perine as a lottery ticket pick. [Back to Top](#top) --------------------------------------------------------------- [] 14. [SEA - RB Alex Collins makes his case for roster spot](=) Source: ESPN.com Seattle Seahawks RB [Alex Collins](=) led all rushers with 10 carries and 58 yards while adding four catches for 35 more yards in Week 2 of the preseason against the Minnesota Vikings on Friday, Aug. 18. He also lost a fumble. [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] We've always liked Collins' natural instincts for running the ball, but he's got to hang onto the rock if he wants to make the team. [Back to Top](#top) --------------------------------------------------------------- [] 15. [MIN - RB Dalvin Cook has decent Week 2 outing](=) Source: ESPN.com Minnesota Vikings RB Dalvin Cook rushed seven times for 40 yards Friday, Aug. 18, in a 20-13 loss to the Seattle Seahawks. [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] Cook is looking more and more like the real deal. Fumbling issues and off-field problems caused the Florida State back to slip to the second round of the 2017 NFL draft where the Vikings were quick to scoop him up. Cook should be the lead back for the Vikings this year, but he will be pushed by veteran Latavius Murray. Fantasy owners should consider Cook a RB2 for 2017 and his current ADP is RB16 (3.10) in 12-team PPR leagues.
