We're headed towards Jaguars at Saints on Thursday night and I can't wait. Plus we've got the News and Notes from around the league you need. And a sweet look at the data for field goal success rates by distance because I know you folks need to know that kind of stuff. Let's Go. J What's New At Footballguys - [Success Rates For Field Goals By Distance]( - When the 49ers took the field last week to attempt a 41-yard field goal and win the game, I asked, "How often do NFL kickers make that from 41 yards?" I was surprised I couldn't find the answer easily. So I asked our Footballguys and my guy Dan Hindery put this together for you. Here's success rates by distance for the last 15 years. Enjoy. And the answer to my question was NFL kickers have made 80.9% of the field goal attempts from 41 yards since 2010. Get the [full list here.]( - [Random Shots Is Live](=) - We do a lot of deep and thoughtful features at Footballguys. This is not that. The guys break down the key matchups and give you fantasy lineup advice for Week 7 of the NFL season in their latest episode of The Audible LIVE! [[youtube]](=)[[podcast]]()[[spotify]](=)[[google-play]]() []() [] 1. BUF: Josh Allen says he's playing [Source: NFL Network - Ian Rapoport]() Buffalo Bills QB Josh Allen (shoulder) said Wednesday, Oct. 18, that he has no concerns and will be ready to play in Week 7. Our view: Allen was limited on Wednesday with this shoulder injury. Very few are as tough as Allen, so he's going to give it a go against the Patriots on Sunday. [Back to Top](#top) [] 2. BUF: Josh Allen limited Wednesday [Source: Buffalo Bills PR]() Buffalo Bills QB Josh Allen (right shoulder) was limited at practice on Wednesday, Oct. 18. Our view: Allen is practicing this week, but he could be limited every day as the team prepares for a divisional matchup against the Patriots in Week 7. Fantasy GMs should not get shook if Allen is limited on Friday too. Stay tuned. [Back to Top](#top) = = [] 3. IND: Anthony Richardson having surgery [Source: NFL Network - Ian Rapoport]() Indianapolis Colts QB Anthony Richardson (shoulder) will undergo season-ending surgery on his right shoulder to repair a significant AC joint sprain. Our view: Richardson is done for the year, and his brief rookie season comes to a close. It was exciting to see him out there, but he missed one game before getting knocked out for the year, and Richardson was banged up in every start but one. Richardson plays with no regard for his personal safety, and that's got to change if he's going to hold up to the beating players take in the NFL. It's the Gardner Minshew show for the Colts from here on out. [Back to Top](#top) [] 4. CHI: No practice for Justin Fields [Source: ChicagoBears.com](=) Chicago Bears QB Justin Fields (thumb) did not participate in practice Wednesday, Oct. 18. Our view: Bears HC Matt Eberflus said Fields is doubtful for Week 7 against the Raiders, but the coach did not give any deadline for his return. That means the team will go with Tyson Bagent, an undrafted rookie out of Shepherd, as their starter. [Back to Top](#top) [] 5. NYG: No QB controversy in New York [Source: GiantsWire - John Fennelly]( New York Giants QB Daniel Jones (neck) will return to his starting job when healthy and won't be replaced by QB Tyrod Taylor, head coach Brian Daboll said on Monday, Oct. 16. Our view: So, is there a controversy because they're saying there is no controversy? Jones has not looked as good as he did last year, and the offense played better than some expected when Taylor played against the Bills. For now, the Giants are not moving on from Jones - nor should they. Let's see if Jones can get healthy, stay healthy, and start performing like he did last year for HC Brian Daboll. [Back to Top](#top) [] 6. NYG: Daniel Jones cleared to practice [Source: NFL.com]() New York Giants QB Daniel Jones (neck) has been cleared to practice but not for contact, head coach Brian Daboll said on Wednesday, Oct. 18. Our view: There is no quarterback competition with the Giants even though Jones has struggled this year and Tyrod Taylor looked good last week against the Bills. Neck injuries are nothing to mess around with, so the team will continue to be cautious with him as he recovers during the week. [Back to Top](#top) [] 7. ARI: Kyler Murray cleared to practice [Source: ESPN - Adam Schefter]( Arizona Cardinals QB Kyler Murray (knee) was designated to return from injured reserve on Wednesday, Oct. 18. Our view: Double-check just to see if Murray is on the waiver wire in your league. The Cardinals could see if Murray is ready to go in Week 8 as it just seems like there's not enough time for him to get closer to starting even though he could in Week 7. That means Josh Dobbs should get one more start for the Cardinals this week. [Back to Top](#top) [] 8. LAR: Kyren Williams out multiple weeks [Source: ESPN.com - Jeremy Fowler](=) Updating previous reports, Los Angeles Rams RB Kyren Williams (ankle) will miss multiple games, but he's expected to return after the Week 10 bye at the latest. Our view: Initial reports had Williams missing a game, but now he's going to be out for at least a couple of contests. The Rams have rookie Zach Evans as their starter (as Ronnie Rivers is also out with a knee injury). Behind him, guys like Royce Freeman and Darrell Henderson will compete for backup snaps. [Back to Top](#top) [] 9. KC: Mecole Hardman traded to Chiefs [Source: ESPN - Adam Schefter]( New York Jets WR Mecole Hardman is being traded to the Kansas City Chiefs, and the two teams will swap late-round draft picks, per sources on Wednesday, Oct. 18. Our view: Hardman didn't do much with the Jets, so now he's going back to the Chiefs. We should see him push WR Kadarius Toney for gadget snaps. Rookie WR Rashee Rice is coming on and should do more as he gains more experience. [Back to Top](#top) [] 10. CLE: Deshaun Watson not practicing [Source: The Cleveland Plain Dealer - Mary Kay Cabot]( Cleveland Browns QB Deshaun Watson (shoulder) will not practice on Wednesday, Oct. 18. Our view: This rotator cuff strain has been one of the most mysterious injuries of the season. Watson was cleared a few weeks ago, but he chose not to play against the Ravens in Week 4. On Wednesday, Watson said he's "not sure" he will fully recover from his shoulder injury in 2023. [Back to Top](#top) [] 11. CLE: Deshaun Watson injury may linger [Source: The Associated Press - Tom Withers]( Cleveland Browns QB Deshaun Watson (shoulder) confirmed he's dealing with a rotator cuff strain that may not be 100 percent the rest of the season. Our view: Watson was cleared a few weeks ago, but he chose not to play against the Ravens in Week 4. Now, Watson is not sure if he is going to be fully healthy at all this year. PJ Walker should get more starts if Watson misses more time. [Back to Top](#top) [] 12. NO: Chris Olave expected to play [Source: Sirius XM NFL Radio - Adam Caplan]( New Orleans Saints WR Chris Olave (toe) fully participated in practice Wednesday, Oct. 18, and is not on the injury report for Week 7. Our view: Olave is good to go for Thursday night against the Jaguars. He's been dealing with this toe injury, so we like him as a WR2 in Week 7. CHI: Travis Homer expected to play [Source: NFL.com]() Chicago Bears RB Travis Homer (ankle) is expected to play this week, head coach Matt Eberflus said on Wednesday, Oct. 18. Our view: Homer did not play in Week 6 against the Vikings, but he could be out there against the Raiders on Sunday. If healthy, Homer is likely to split time with D'Onta Foreman in the Bears' backfield. [Back to Top](#top) [] 14. BUF: Dalton Kincaid clears protocol [Source: NFL.com]() Buffalo Bills TE Dalton Kincaid (concussion) has cleared the concussion protocol, head coach Sean McDermott said on Wednesday, Oct. 18. Our view: Kincaid is ready to get out there for the Bills, and we'd like to see him used more in the offense. He's a dynamic weapon, and likely the team's second-best receiving weapon...if they would use him more. It would be nice to see a role for Kincaid like what the Lions have given fellow rookie TE Sam LaPorta this year. [Back to Top](#top) [] 15. DEN: Greg Dulcich does not practice [Source: Sirius XM NFL Radio - Adam Caplan]( Denver Broncos TE Greg Dulcich (hamstring) did not participate in practice Wednesday, Oct. 18. Our view: Dulcich is talented but he's oft-injured with yet another hamstring injury. In fact, Dulcich - who just came off IR last week - may be a candidate to go back on the list due to this problem. [Back to Top](#top) [] 16. LVR: Jimmy Garoppolo not practicing [Source: NFL.com]() Las Vegas Raiders QB Jimmy Garoppolo (back) will not practice on Wednesday, Oct. 18, head coach Josh McDaniels said. Our view: Raiders HC Josh McDaniels said Garoppolo "dodged a huge bullet" with this back injury, but that doesn't mean he won't miss time. We may end up seeing rookie QB Aidan O'Connell or veteran Brian Hoyer as the team's starter if Garoppolo needs more time to heal. [Back to Top](#top) [] 17. GB: Aaron Jones a limited participant [Source: Sirius XM NFL Radio - Adam Caplan]( Green Bay Packers RB Aaron Jones (hamstring) was limited during practice Wednesday, Oct. 18. Our view: Hamstring problems have plagued Jones this year, and he hasn't been out there since Week 4 when he reaggravated the problem he initially hurt in Week 1. As the team prepares for the Broncos, a defense that struggles against the run mightily, Fantasy GMs are hoping Jones can get back out there and produce as an RB1. [Back to Top](#top) [] 18. MIA: Jeff Wilson takes part in practice [Source: MiamiDolphins.com]() Miami Dolphins RB Jeff Wilson Jr. (finger, ribs) fully participated in practice Wednesday, Oct. 18. Our view: Wilson is set to be the primary backup behind Raheem Mostert. He'll work in tandem with Salvon Ahmed in that role with both De'Von Achane and Chris Brooks banged up. [Back to Top](#top) [] 19. CHI: Roschon Johnson remains in protocol [Source: NFL.com]() Chicago Bears RB Roschon Johnson (concussion) remains in the concussion protocol, head coach Matt Eberflus said on Wednesday, Oct. 18. Our view: Johnson will need to be cleared before he has a chance to play. We'll watch to see if/when that can happen with a game against the Raiders coming up on Sunday. [Back to Top](#top) [] 20. NO: Jamaal Williams listed as questionable [Source: Sirius XM NFL Radio - Adam Caplan]( New Orleans Saints RB Jamaal Williams (hamstring) was limited during practice Wednesday, Oct. 18, and is listed as questionable for Week 7. Our view: The Saints opened up the 21-day window for Williams this week. They need to officially bring him back and activate him, but it seems like he's ready to play in the near future. [Back to Top](#top) [] 21. NYJ: Aaron Rodgers 'ahead of schedule' [Source: ESPN.com - Rich Cimini](=) New York Jets QB Aaron Rodgers (Achilles) is 'obviously, ahead of schedule' in his rehab from a ruptured Achilles but still has several hurdles to clear, he said on Tuesday, Oct. 17. Rodgers did not give a timeline for his return, though. Our view: Rodgers is trying to make it back by the end of the season. That sounds incredulous, but we give him credit for trying. The most optimistic timeline would be a return in January. We'll see if the Jets can stay in it that long for the veteran to get back out there. [Back to Top](#top) [] 22. NE: Rhamondre Stevenson limited [Source: Patriots.com]( New England Patriots RB Rhamondre Stevenson (ankle) was limited during practice Wednesday, Oct. 18. Our view: Stevenson was banged up in Week 6, but he returned to the game after injuring his ankle. A limited practice on Wednesday is a good sign for his availability against the Bills in Week 7.
