LAR: Cooper Kupp shines in return [Source: The Associated Press]() Los Angeles Rams WR Cooper Kupp (hamstring) made his season debut in Week 5, catching eight of his 12 targets for a team-high 118 yards in a 23-14 loss to the Philadelphia Eagles. Our view: Kupp looked fantastic and ready to roll. He looked as quick and explosive as ever. And clearly, Matthew Stafford targeted him often. [Back to Top](#top) [] 2. IND: Monster game for Zack Moss [Source: ESPN.com]() Indianapolis Colts RB Zack Moss rushed for 165 yards and two touchdowns on 23 carries against the Tennessee Titans in Week 5. He also caught two passes for 30 yards during the game. Our view: Jonathan Taylor barely saw the ball and Moss made the Colts look smart in taking that approach with their newly signed starting running back. Taylor fantasy teams can't like this result as it hints at a committee going forward even when Taylor is ready for his full workload in their estimation. [Back to Top](#top) = = [] 3. LAR: Seven grabs for Puka Nacua [Source: The Associated Press]() Los Angeles Rams WR Puka Nacua finished with seven catches on 11 targets for 71 yards and a touchdown in a 23-14 loss to the Philadelphia Eagles in Week 5. Our view: Nacua's targets stayed strong with Cooper Kupp returning. Both Nacua and Cupp look to be featured in this offense. [Back to Top](#top) [] 4. IND: Jonathan Taylor held in check [Source: ESPN.com]() Indianapolis Colts RB Jonathan Taylor rushed for 18 yards on six carries against the Tennessee Titans in Week 5. He also caught one pass for 16 yards during the game. Our view: Taylor was ineffective as a runner, but he didn't get a chance to get in a rhythm as Zack Moss dominated the backfield touches. He should get more work next week, at least enough to be a flex, but Moss's performance today could force a committee and cap Taylor's rest of season upside. The good news is that the Colts have been very good running the ball with Moss since Week 2, which should lay the groundwork for Taylor's success in whatever degree it comes in fantasy leagues. [Back to Top](#top) [] 5. JAX: Two touchdowns for Travis Etienne [Source: ESPN.com]() Jacksonville Jaguars RB Travis Etienne rushed for 136 yards and two touchdowns on 26 carries against the Buffalo Bills in Week 5. He also caught four passes for 48 yards during the game. Our view: Etienne landed the finishing blow on a long score the same way he did in Week 1 against the Colts. He posted his best game of the season to date just in time for the rematch with the Colts. [Back to Top](#top) [] 6. IND: Anthony Richardson will not return [Source: NFL.com - Michael Baca]( Updating a previous report, Indianapolis Colts QB Anthony Richardson (shoulder) will not return to the Week 5 game because of his shoulder injury. Our view: The offense, especially the pass offense, is in good hands with Gardner Minshew, but you have to worry about Richardson now suffering three injuries in four games. He might have to change his approach to running the ball at this level. If Minshew is asked to start next week, he'll face the team he broke through with, the Jaguars. The Colts don't have a bye until Week 11, so no extra rest is coming for a while. [Back to Top](#top) [] 7. MIA: Tua Tagovailoa goes over 300 yards [Source: ESPN]() Miami Dolphins QB Tua Tagovailoa completed 22-of-30 passes for 308 yards, two touchdowns and two interceptions in Week 5 against the New York Giants, while adding two runs for six yards. Our view: Tagovailoa was burning up the Giants defense with Tyreek Hill, the running backs scored twice, and he didn't need to do much in the second half up big in the second half, so it was just a modest success for fantasy. The Panthers defense will be Tagovailoa's next victim in Week 6. [Back to Top](#top) [] 8. DET: Jared Goff accounts for four touchdowns [Source: ESPN.com]() Detroit Lions QB Jared Goff went 20-for-28 for 236 yards and three touchdowns against the Carolina Panthers in Week 5. He also rushed for zero yards and one touchdown on two carries during the game. Our view: Goff was highly efficient without his top wide receiver Amon-Ra St. Brown. He added a score on a sneak and put up a big game even with the running backs scoring twice. He's solid QB1 play against the Bucs next week with the hope that St. Brown can play. [Back to Top](#top) [] 9. ARI: James Conner leaves game [Source: NFL.com]( Arizona Cardinals RB James Conner (knee) suffered a knee injury during the Week 5 game and is considered questionable to return. Our view: Keaontay Ingram was inactive, so UDFA Emari Demercado relieved Conner and scored. He'll be a waiver pickup in most leagues next week with the Rams up next on the schedule. [Back to Top](#top) [] 10. KC: Travis Kelce returns after ankle injury [Source: NFL.com]( Updating a previous report, Kansas City Chiefs TE Travis Kelce (ankle) returned to the Week 5 game after missing some time because of an ankle injury. Our view: Good news for Kelce that he was able to return after what looked like a significant injury. [Back to Top](#top) = Week 5 Instant Reactions and Recap 📢 Join Sigmund Bloom and Cecil Lammey as they recap all the action from Week 5 and give you their instant reactions for fantasy football in Week 6. [Watch On YouTube 👉](=) [] 11. NO: Chris Olave reaches end zone [Source: ESPN.com]() New Orleans Saints WR Chris Olave caught two passes for 12 yards and one touchdown against the New England Patriots in Week 5. He was targeted five times during the game. Our view: Olave reportedly had an ankle issue in warmups. He didn't necessarily look hurt in this one, but the Saints were up so big so early that they could mothball the downfield passing game, which is where Olave does his damage. Watch his practice reports next week heading into a good matchup at Houston. [Back to Top](#top) [] 12. NYG: Neck injury for Daniel Jones [Source: NFL.com]( New York Giants QB Daniel Jones (neck) suffered a neck injury during the Week 5 game and will not return. Our view: The Giants face Buffalo next week, so Tyrod Taylor might be starting against his own team. Jones signed a four-year, $160 million extension this offseason and was expected to build on unexpected success including a playoff win last year. This year couldn't have gone much worse for him or the Giants. [Back to Top](#top) [] 13. DET: Two touchdowns for Sam LaPorta [Source: ESPN.com]() Detroit Lions TE Sam LaPorta caught three passes for 47 yards and two touchdowns against the Carolina Panthers in Week 5. He was targeted four times during the game. Our view: LaPorta didn't get five catches or 50 yards and Jared Goff only threw 28 times, yet the tight end still had a huge game for fantasy teams. He's a top five tight end going forward with the Bucs up next. [Back to Top](#top) [] 14. IND: Josh Downs just under 100 yards [Source: ESPN.com]() Indianapolis Colts WR Josh Downs caught six passes for 97 yards against the Tennessee Titans in Week 5. He was targeted six times during the game. Our view: With Gardner Minshew likely to start at least one game, if not more, Downs is a good waiver wire add and play in Week 6 against the Jaguars. [Back to Top](#top) [] 15. PHI: Dallas Goedert erupts in Week 5 [Source: ESPN.com]() Philadelphia Eagles TE Dallas Goedert set season highs in receptions, targets and receiving yards in Week 5, catching eight of his nine targets for 117 yards and a touchdown in a 23-14 win over the Los Angeles Rams. Our view: Goedert was heavily involved Sunday as the Eagles put him in positions to be successful while Goedert made the most of his opportunities. [Back to Top](#top) [] 16. BAL: Lamar Jackson doesn't produce TD [Source: ESPN]() Baltimore Ravens QB Lamar Jackson completed 22-of-38 passes for 236 yards, no touchdowns and one interception in Week 5 against the Pittsburgh Steelers, while rushing six times for 45 yards and no scores with one lost fumble. Our view: Jackson fell to 1-3 all-time against the Steelers, which indicates he has missed a lot of games against his division rival and been held down in the ones he has appeared in. The Steelers pass rush harassed Jackson and there were some plays left on the field that could have been made in the passing game. He'll face a vulnerable Titans pass defense next week. [Back to Top](#top) [] 17. PIT: George Pickens comes up big late [Source: ESPN]() Pittsburgh Steelers WR George Pickens ended up with six grabs for 130 yards, including a 41-yard game-winning touchdown with 1:17 remaining in regulation, in Week 5 against the Baltimore Ravens. He was targeted a team-high 10 times, while also rushing once for 16 yards. Our view: Pickens was able to create just enough separation from Marlon Humphrey to reel in the deep ball and give the Steelers the lead just in time for the win. Pickens has shown that he can make your week on one play, so you should feel good about getting him where you did in drafts as he heads into his bye. [Back to Top](#top) [] 18. BUF: Josh Allen accounts for three TDs [Source: 1 No Source]() Buffalo Bills QB Josh Allen went 27-for-40 for 359 yards, two touchdowns and one interception against the Jacksonville Jaguars in Week 5. He also rushed for 14 yards and one touchdown on four carries during the game. Our view: Allen had a lot of trouble moving the offense in this game, but playing from behind allowed him to face a softer defense in the fourth quarter and rack up enough stats to post a strong fantasy day. He'll post a good one the old fashioned way against the porous Giants defense next week. [Back to Top](#top) [] 19. NYJ: Breece Hall goes off at Mile High [Source: ESPN]() New York Jets RB Breece Hall rushed 22 times for 177 yards and a 72-yard touchdown in Week 5 against the Denver Broncos, and he added three receptions for 17 yards on his three targets. Our view: Hall exploded for a huge day against the Broncos. He seems more comfortable with every game and that's great news for the Jets. [Back to Top](#top) [] 20. ATL: Desmond Ridder goes over 300 yards [Source: ESPN]() Atlanta Falcons QB Desmond Ridder completed 28-of-37 passes for 329 yards, one touchdown and no interceptions in Week 5 against the Houston Texans, while rushing four times for 10 yards and a score. Our view: Ridder made the vultures that circled him last week fly away with a last second comeback win and strong performance against a defense that humbled the Steelers last week. He actually fed his top tight end and wide receiver to the tune of solid fantasy games and has a great matchup against Washington next week. MIA: Tyreek Hill good for 181 yards, TD [Source: ESPN]() Miami Dolphins WR Tyreek Hill ended up with eight grabs for a game-high 181 yards and a score on his nine targets in Week 5 against the New York Giants. Our view: [Back to Top](#top) [] 22. CAR: Adam Thielen surpasses 100-yard mark [Source: ESPN.com]() Carolina Panthers WR Adam Thielen caught 11 passes for 107 yards and one touchdown against the Detroit Lions in Week 5. He was targeted 13 times during the game. Our view: Thielen put up his first big game with Bryce Young, helping reassure us that he is an everyweek starter. This was a blowout and Thielen was helped by garbage time, but did not subsist on it alone. He'll get a lot of targets in an equally futile matchup against the Dolphins next week. [Back to Top](#top) [] 23. NO: Alvin Kamara close to 100 total yards [Source: ESPN.com]() New Orleans Saints RB Alvin Kamara rushed for 80 yards and one touchdown on 22 carries against the New England Patriots in Week 5. He also caught three passes for 17 yards during the game. Our view: Kamara is getting enough work to be an everyweek start. In matchups where the Saints defense will control the game, he could have a big rushing workload like he did today. When the Saints are playing from behind, he'll get a lot of dumpoffs from Derek Carr, like he did last week. Kamara is looking like a big hit for fantasy players who were willing to wait out his three-week suspension. [Back to Top](#top) [] 24. ATL: Bijan Robinson doesn't do much in win [Source: ESPN]() Atlanta Falcons RB Bijan Robinson rushed 14 times for just 46 yards in Week 5 against the Houston Texans, although he was able to find the end zone on one of his two catches for 12 yards and two targets. Our view: Robinson had his first underwhelming game, but at least he scored in this one. The Washington defense is up next, so a bounceback game is coming for Robinson, who hasn't peaked yet as a fantasy running back this year. [Back to Top](#top) [] 25. BAL: Zay Flowers targeted 11 times in loss [Source: ESPN]() Baltimore Ravens WR Zay Flowers ended up with five receptions for a team-high 73 yards on a game-best 11 targets in Week 5 against the Pittsburgh Steelers. Our view: There was at least one big play that didn't connect because Flowers lost his balance, and it should have been a bigger game for the rookie. He's just a WR3/Flex right now, but a breakout game is in play against the Titans secondary next week. [Back to Top](#top) [] 26. DET: David Montgomery plays well in Week 5 [Source: ESPN.com]() Detroit Lions RB David Montgomery rushed for 109 yards and one touchdown on 19 carries against the Carolina Panthers in Week 5. He also caught two passes for 20 yards during the game. Our view: Montgomery broke free for a 42-yard score early to fuel the strong effort. Montgomery is looking like one of the biggest values in 2023 fantasy drafts heading into a matchup at Tampa Bay. [Back to Top](#top) [] 27. JAX: Calvin Ridley finishes with 122 yards [Source: ESPN.com]() Jacksonville Jaguars WR Calvin Ridley caught seven passes for 122 yards against the Buffalo Bills in Week 5. He also rushed for 14 yards on two carries during the game. Our view: Ridley had a strong game after AJ Terrell shut him down in London last week. The team trusted him on a late deep shot that helped decide the game. The Colts, next week's opponent, don't have anyone who can cover him, as his big game in Week 1 illustrated. [Back to Top](#top) [] 28. ATL: Kyle Pitts finally has solid stat line [Source: ESPN]() Atlanta Falcons TE Kyle Pitts racked up team highs with seven receptions, 87 yards and 11 targets in Week 5 against the Houston Texans. Our view: Hopefully you didn't give up on him. Pitts should be in lineups against the Washington defense that Chicago just hung 40 points on. [Back to Top](#top) [] 29. JAX: Trevor Lawrence surpasses 300-yard mark [Source: ESPN.com]() Jacksonville Jaguars QB Trevor Lawrence went 25-for-37 for 315 yards and one touchdown against the Buffalo Bills in Week 5. He also rushed for 31 yards on seven carries during the game. Our view: Lawrence got Zay Jones back and Jones gave him a nice touchdown catch on a high ball, but then left the game with another knee issue. Travis Etienne finished the other drives, but Lawrence still had a good fantasy showing against a good defense. His offensive tackles got banged up, but Lawrence's value is still trending up going into a matchup with the Colts. [Back to Top](#top) [] 30. PIT: Jaylen Warren totals 79 scrimmage yards [Source: ESPN]() Pittsburgh Steelers RB Jaylen Warren registered nine rushes for a team-high 40 yards in Week 5 against the Baltimore Ravens, while adding three receptions for 39 yards on his three targets. Our view: Warren was tough to bring down on all of his touches and he was in on the decisive drives in the fourth quarter. He has shown that he deserves more work and should be held while we wait for the Steelers to use their best running back more often. [Back to Top](#top) [] 31. TEN: DeAndre Hopkins finishes with 140 yards [Source: ESPN.com]() Tennessee Titans WR DeAndre Hopkins caught eight passes for 140 yards against the Indianapolis Colts in Week 5. He was targeted 11 times during the game. Our view: Hopkins had his biggest game as a Titans and looked like vintage Nuk with multiple big contested catches, earning even more trust from Ryan Tannehill. He's a strong play next week against the Ravens secondary that just gave up a big game to George Pickens. [Back to Top](#top) [] 32. IND: Garnder Minshew throws for 155 yards in relief [Source: ESPN.com]() Indianapolis Colts QB Gardner Minshew went 11-for-14 for 155 yards, zero touchdowns and zero interceptions against the Tennessee Titans in Week 5. Our view: Minshew was efficient yet again in relief of Anthony Richardson. He'll be worth a look as QB2/Superflex against the Jaguars next week in a showdown for first place unless Richardson's injury is not nearly as serious as it appeared in the game.
