NYG: Saquon Barkley still day-to-day [Source: FOX Sports - Ralph Vacchiano]() New York Giants RB Saquon Barkley (ankle) is 'in the day-to-day category,' according to head coach Brian Daboll. Per Daboll, Barkley 'feels a lot better (Tuesday, Sept. 26), but we'll kind of take that all the way throughout the week and see how he improves.' Our view: Good news for the Giants and obviously Barkley that he's feeling better. He's a key part of this offense and he was missed. Stay tuned. [Back to Top]() [] 2. GB: Christian Watson expects to make season debut [Source: The Athletic - Matt Schneidman]() Green Bay Packers WR Christian Watson (hamstring) told reporters 'that's the plan' when he was asked if he was playing against the Detroit Lions in Week 4 on Tuesday, Sept. 26. Our view: Watson can be the no.1 receiver for the Packers if healthy and playing up to his full potential. That could free up coverage for Romeo Doubs on the other side. Doubs has been a fine player for the Packers this year, but we'll have to see how the targets are spread around from QB Jordan Love when Watson is able to get out there. [Back to Top]() = = [] 3. GB: Aaron Jones likely back after two-game absence [Source: ProFootballTalk.com - Myles Simmons]( Green Bay Packers RB Aaron Jones (hamstring) will play against the Detroit Lions in Week 4, according to teammate Romeo Doubs. Our view: Good news for the Packers here if it happens. We'll monitor Jones' status during the week of practice, which is a short week since the Packers play on the Lions on Thursday night in Week 4. AJ Dillon has not been good with more time, so Jones will be a welcome return to an offense that has more potential. [Back to Top]() [] 4. NYJ: Trevor Siemian agrees with Jets [Source: ESPN - Adam Schefter]( Free-agent QB Trevor Siemian (Bengals) agreed to an undisclosed contract with the New York Jets Tuesday, Sept. 26, pending a physical. Our view: Zach Wilson has not been great this season, so the Jets are bringing in a solid veteran with a ton of starting experience. Siemian isn't great, but he's a tough player who will run the offense as designed. He might prove to be an upgrade over the former no.2 overall pick from the 2021 NFL draft. [Back to Top]() The best things sent in the Footballguys Group Chat today: - 😅 The Jets have signed Trevor Siemian. [That should fix everything, right?]() - 🤝 This is what teammates are for. PHI: Jalen Hurts played through illness [Source: ESPN.com - Tim McManus]( Philadelphia Eagles QB Jalen Hurts (illness) played Monday, Sept. 25, through flu-like symptoms. C Jason Kelce said there were a number of players on the team that were sick. Our view: Hurts completed 23-of-37 passes for 277 yards, one touchdown, and two interceptions in the Eagles' 25-11, Week 3 win over the Buccaneers. He also had 10 carries for 28 yards and a touchdown. That's a pretty good performance for a player battling illness. He should be feeling better for the Week 4 home matchup against the Commanders on Sunday. [Back to Top]() [] 6. NE: Mac Jones likely to avoid suspension [Source: NFL Network - Tom Pelissero]( New England Patriots QB Mac Jones is likely to avoid a suspension for allegedly hitting New York Jets CB Sauce Gardner in the groin in the Week 3 game. Our view: We've seen this before from Jones, and some think he's one of the dirtiest players in the league. From a fantasy perspective, Jones has been decent in start-2QB/Superflex leagues this season. In Week 4 against the Cowboys, Jones might be a tough start even in those formats. [Back to Top]() [] 7. DET: David Montgomery looking good for Week 4? [Source: 1 No Source]() Detroit Lions RB David Montgomery (thigh) appears to be on the right track to play in Week 4 against the Green Bay Packers, according to comments from head coach Dan Campbell on Tuesday, Sept. 26. Our view: The Lions play against the Packers on Thursday night. Montgomery could be back out there as their lead back, but the Lions should still mix things up with an RBBC featuring rookie RB Jahmyr Gibbs as well. When Montgomery returns, Craig Reynolds should get a smaller role. [Back to Top]() That'll do it for today, Folks. Thanks for reading and thanks for being part of the Footballguys Family.
