[LAR - No movement on DE Aaron Donald front](#19) 20. [CAR - WR Curtis Samuel working with QB Cam Newton](#20) --------------------------------------------------------------- [] 1. [TB - PK Roberto Aguayo let go](=) Source: Tampa Bay Times - Rick Stroud Tampa Bay Buccaneers PK Roberto Aguayo - the team's second-round pick in 2016 - was waived Saturday, Aug. 12. [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] Well, that pick didn't work out. If you move up in the second round to take a kicker he had better be a 10-year starter. Aguayo struggled as a rookie and those struggles continued into this year and the preseason. Make fun of any fantasy owners in your league that draft him off outdated paper cheatsheets. [Back to Top](#top) --------------------------------------------------------------- [] 2. [MIA - RB Jay Ajayi remains sidelined](=) Source: The Miami Herald - Adam H. Beasley Miami Dolphins RB [Jay Ajayi](=) (concussion) did not participate in practice Saturday, Aug. 12. [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] Ajayi is in the concussion protocol, and there's no telling when he'll be ready to practice. This puts his regular season into some question. Until we get some clarity, Ajayi at his current ADP near the top of the second round may be too high. [Back to Top](#top) --------------------------------------------------------------- [] 3. [MIA - QB Ryan Tannehill placed on IR](=) Source: The Miami Herald - Armando Salguero Miami Dolphins QB [Ryan Tannehill](=) (knee) was placed on the Reserve/Injured list Saturday, Aug. 12. [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] As expected, this move ends the 2017 season for Tannehill. He'll get knee surgery after opting to not have surgery for a partially torn ACL last year. Jay Cutler will now move into the starting job for the Dolphins. He was solid under Adam Gase when the two were with the Bears, and Cutler will keep the Dolphins passing game at (or maybe slightly above) the level it was with Tannehill. [Back to Top](#top) --------------------------------------------------------------- [] 4. [PIT - WR Martavis Bryant to practice in full Sunday]( Source: ESPN.com - Jeremy Fowler Pittsburgh Steelers WR [Martavis Bryant](=) participated in a closed practice session Thursday, Aug. 10, and has been cleared for full practice Sunday, Aug. 13, after the Steelers received word from the league earlier in the week he was allowed to rejoin the team. [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] Bryant is ready to go this weekend, and there's a good chance we could see him in the second preseason game for the Steelers. On the field, Bryant is a big play just waiting to happen with the ability to change your week-to-week outlook. Bryant is WR25 in 12-team PPR leagues right now, going off the board at the top of the fifth round. Don't expect that to stay the same if he makes highlight plays in the preseason. [Back to Top](#top) --------------------------------------------------------------- [] 5. [CIN - RB Joe Mixon runs well in debut](=) Source: ESPN.com Cincinnati Bengals RB Joe Mixon had six carries for 31 yards and one catch for 11 yards in a 23-12 win over the Tampa Bay Buccaneers Friday, Aug. 11. 'Once I got that first carry and got the first-game jitters out of the way, I adjusted,' Mixon said. [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] Mixon is listed behind Jeremy Hill and Gio Bernard on the depth chart...for now. He's clearly the best back the Bengals have and we're expecting him to rise to the top of this backfield. Watch this competition continue to unfold as the preseason rolls on. [Back to Top](#top) --------------------------------------------------------------- [] 6. [PHI - WR Alshon Jeffery still limited]( Source: The Philadelphia Inquirer - Jeff McLane Philadelphia Eagles WR [Alshon Jeffery](=) (shoulder) was limited to individual drills during practice Saturday, Aug. 12. [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] That will be the case until Jeffery is closer to full strength. The Eagles may consider not playing Jeffery in the second preseason game. [Back to Top](#top) --------------------------------------------------------------- [] 7. [WAS - TE Jordan Reed to be reevaluated soon]( Source: Redskins.com Washington Redskins TE [Jordan Reed](=) (toe) will be reevaluated after the preseason game against the Green Bay Packers, according to head coach Jay Gruden. [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] Reed is wearing a special insert in his shoe to help with the problem. We'll see if that helps him or makes no difference. Reed can be a fantasy force if healthy, but he makes for a risky fantasy pick with his long injury history. [Back to Top](#top) --------------------------------------------------------------- [] 8. [MIN - RB Bishop Sankey waived/injured]() Source: Vikings.com Minnesota Vikings RB [Bishop Sankey](=) (knee) was waived/injured Saturday, Aug. 12. [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] That could be a wrap for his pro career. A second-round pick out of Washington in 2014, Sankey just didn't have the juice to make it in the pros. Add in his problems staying healthy and you can see how his pro career has been a major disappointment. [Back to Top](#top) --------------------------------------------------------------- [] 9. [HOU - WR DeAndre Hopkins sits out Saturday]() Source: ESPN.com - Sarah Barshop Houston Texans WR [DeAndre Hopkins](=) did not participate in practice Saturday, Aug. 12, because he received the day off. [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] It's just a veteran day of rest for the star wideout. He's going off the board at WR13 (3.02) in 12-team PPR leagues right now. [Back to Top](#top) --------------------------------------------------------------- [] 10. [BAL - WR Breshad Perriman still sidelined](=) Source: The Baltimore Sun - Edward Lee Baltimore Ravens WR [Breshad Perriman](=) (hamstring) did not participate in practice Saturday, Aug. 12. [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] Perriman has been banged up for most of his career. The Ravens need to make sure he's over this hamstring injury before rushing the speedy WR back to action. It will actually be news when he does participate in practice. [Back to Top](#top) --------------------------------------------------------------- [] 11. [WAS - TE Jordan Reed to try out new footwear]() Source: ESPN.com - John Keim Washington Redskins TE [Jordan Reed](=) (toe) received special orthotics for his left cleat and will test it out for the next couple days, according to head coach Jay Gruden, who added the team will take a look at how Reed is doing after the team's next preseason game against the Green Bay Packers on Saturday, Aug. 19. [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] Magic shoes worked for Forrest Gump, so we'll see if this insert will help Reed play better. If healthy, Reed is a top-3 fantasy tight end...but it's that whole thing about staying healthy that he struggles with. Monitor his progress through the rest of the preseason. [Back to Top](#top) --------------------------------------------------------------- [] 12. [JAX - RB Leonard Fournette confident](=) Source: USA TODAY Sports - Scott Gleeson Jacksonville Jaguars RB Leonard Fournette said the NFL was 'a lot slower' than he expected following his preseason debut Thursday, Aug. 10, against the New England Patriots. 'I think, to me, it was really easy,' Fournette said. [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] Fournette should be confident as he's incredibly talented. The speed of the game is one thing, but it's the discipline of the game that younger players need to get used to. In the NFL, Fournette won't be able to regularly take advantage of defenders out of position like he did in college at LSU. We're projecting over 1,000 all-purpose yards and around 9 touchdowns for the rookie in 2017. [Back to Top](#top) --------------------------------------------------------------- [] 13. [CLE - QB Brock Osweiler, QB DeShone Kizer splitting reps](=) Source: The Cleveland Plain Dealer - Mary Kay Cabot Cleveland Browns QBs [Brock Osweiler](=) and DeShone Kizer are splitting snaps with the first-team offense during practice Saturday, Aug. 12. [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] Osweiler is the starter for now, but Kizer is likely the future of the team. If Kizer continues to show well, then he could win the starting job at some point during the year...even perhaps at the start of the season. [Back to Top](#top) --------------------------------------------------------------- [] 14. [CLE - QB DeShone Kizer won't be rushed](=) Source: ProFootballTalk.com - Charean Williams Cleveland Browns QB DeShone Kizer won't be rushed, according to head coach Hue Jackson, and Jackson said it is 'too soon' to name Kizer the starter for the next preseason game or the season opener. [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] The Browns are being wise with their potential franchise quarterback. When Kizer takes over he'll have the benefit of playing with a strong ground game and behind a solid offensive line. While the rookie from Notre Dame may not begin the season as the starter, we should see him take over at some point in 2017. [Back to Top](#top) --------------------------------------------------------------- [] 15. [DEN - DE Derek Wolfe has ankle sprain]( Source: NFL Network - Ian Rapoport Updating previous reports, Denver Broncos DE Derek Wolfe (ankle) suffered a moderate ankle sprain during practice Saturday, Aug. 12, and will miss a small amount of time. [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] It's a best case scenario for the Broncos. Wolfe is a big part of their defense, especially when it comes to stuffing the run. We may not see him the rest of the preseason. [Back to Top](#top) --------------------------------------------------------------- [] 16. [DEN - WR Carlos Henderson does not practice]( Source: 9News.com - Mike Klis Denver Broncos WR Carlos Henderson (thumb) did not participate in practice Saturday, Aug. 12, because of a thumb injury. He is scheduled to undergo tests to determine the severity of the injury. [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] Henderson has been a disappointment so far in practice. He drops too many passes and even had problems gathering in kickoffs cleanly. [Back to Top](#top) --------------------------------------------------------------- [] 17. [JAX - WR Allen Hurns sits out Saturday]() Source: Jaguars.com - John Oehser Jacksonville Jaguars WR [Allen Hurns](=) (undisclosed) did not participate in practice Saturday, Aug. 12. [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] This might just be a day of rest for Hurns. Last year it was hamstring injuries that held him back, but he bulked up this offseason in an effort to avoid that problem this year. [Back to Top](#top) --------------------------------------------------------------- [] 18. [LAR - WR Tavon Austin still has role in Rams' offense]( Source: ESPN.com - Alden Gonzalez Los Angeles Rams WR [Tavon Austin](=) 'definitely has a place' even after the team acquired WR [Sammy Watkins](=) from the Buffalo Bills on Friday, Aug. 11, according to general manager Les Snead. [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] That role within the offense did get smaller once Watkins was added via trade. The team won't go out of their way to get Austin the ball, and fantasy owners shouldn't have been thrilled by his prospects anyway. [Back to Top](#top) --------------------------------------------------------------- [] 19. [LAR - No movement on DE Aaron Donald front]( Source: ESPN.com - Alden Gonzalez Los Angeles Rams DL Aaron Donald did not participate in OTAs or minicamp this spring and is more than two weeks into a holdout during training camp as he seeks a contract that makes him one of the game's highest-paid defensive players. General manager Les Snead indicated recently there has 'not (been) any movement, (but) there is hope. ... Hope you'll be a Ram for a long time.' [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] A dominant player on the field, Donald is one of the best defensive tackles in the league. Snaring near double-digit sacks for Donald in any season is not out of the question. [Back to Top](#top) --------------------------------------------------------------- [] 20. [CAR - WR Curtis Samuel working with QB Cam Newton]() Source: Charlotte Observer - Jourdan Rodrigue Carolina Panthers WR Curtis Samuel (hamstring) is unable to practice, but he said he has been running routes at half speed on the sidelines with QB [Cam Newton](=) (shoulder), who is also unable to practice. [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] Samuel is an incredible athlete who is developing as a wide receiver. He's not going to run the greatest routes but the rookie from Ohio State is dangerous with the ball in his hands. It will be interesting to see how the Panthers incorporate Samuel into their offense this year.
