They have helped me dominate my league to the point that I'm called the Evil Empire by my league mates" - Rick Himes @bigisland31 [] 1. LAC: Keenan Allen goes crazy in Week 3 [Source: ESPN](=) Los Angeles Chargers WR Keenan Allen posted 18 receptions for a career-high 215 yards on 20 targets in Week 3 against the Minnesota Vikings, and he also threw a 49-yard touchdown pass to WR Mike Williams. Our view: Allen has already been the focal point of the Chargers passing game, that should only increase with Mike Williams going down due to a leg injury. Allen might be a first round pick if drafts were held next week. As long as he stays healthy, he'll be one of the biggest value picks of 2023 even though he cost you a third round pick in most drafts. [Back to Top](#top) [] 2. MIA: De'Von Achane has amazing afternoon [Source: ESPN](=) Miami Dolphins RB De'Von Achane rushed 18 times for 203 yards and two touchdowns in Week 3 against the Denver Broncos, and he added four grabs for 30 yards and two touchdowns on his four targets in a blowout victory at home. Our view: Achane hadn't gotten in on significant action before this week, but that will change going forward. He'll be the top waiver priority in any leagues where he's available and viable as a flex going forward. Even when Jeff Wilson and Salvon Ahmed are healthy, it will be tough for the Dolphins to put Achane back on the bench. [Back to Top](#top) [] 3. NO: Derek Carr expected back this season [Source: NFL Network - Ian Rapoport](=) Updating previous report, New Orleans Saints QB Derek Carr's (shoulder) shoulder injury is not believed to be as serious as initially feared, and is he is expected to return to the lineup at some point this season, according to sources. Our view: It still sounds like Jameis Winston will be the Saints quarterback in Week 4 and a while beyond. Winston wasn't very aggressive with the ball, but he entered with the team leading 17-0. The Saints have one of the best backup quarterbacks in the league, so hopefully this won't be too damaging for Chris Olave and Michael Thomas's value. [Back to Top](#top) [] 4. ARZ - Cardinals Upset Cowboys [Source: NFL.com]() The Cowboys were missing Travon Diggs on defense but that doesn't explain this beating. Joshua Dobbs for the Cardinals was efficient and steady while RB James Conner ran for 98 yards on just 14 carries. But the real star was the Cardinals defense that held Dallas to just 16 points. Our view: Josh Dobbs notched his first NFL win as a starting QB while James Conner and Rondale Moore both scored rushing touchdowns. Matt Prater kicked three field goals, including a 62-yarder, and added an extra point to lead Arizona in scoring. [Back to Top](#top) [] 5. GB: Six grabs for Luke Musgrave [Source: ESPN](=) Green Bay Packers TE Luke Musgrave ended up with six receptions for 49 yards on eight targets in Week 3 against the New Orleans Saints. Our view: Musgrave was open for a big play that would have gone for 40-50 yards, if not a touchdown, but Jordan Love missed him. His value is trending up and he's worth a look as your TE1 this week on Thursday against the Lions. Make sure Musgrave isn't on your waiver wire. [Back to Top](#top) [] 6. JAX: Calvin Ridley held in check [Source: ESPN.com](=) Jacksonville Jaguars WR Calvin Ridley caught three passes for 40 yards against the Houston Texans in Week 3. He was targeted seven times during the game. Our view: Ridley was huge in Week 1, quiet in Week 2, and expected to be excellent against a Texans secondary missing one of their best corners. Instead, he was a disappointment along with the rest of the Jaguars passing game. He'll face his old team next week and projects as a boom/bust WR2 against Atlanta. [Back to Top](#top) [] 7. HOU: Dameon Pierce reaches end zone [Source: ESPN.com](=) Houston Texans RB Dameon Pierce rushed for 31 yards and one touchdown on 14 carries against the Jacksonville Jaguars in Week 3. He also caught three passes for 28 yards during the game. Our view: Pierce's touchdown was set up by a deep ball to Tank Fell inside the five, so if it wasn't for that, it would have been another dud for him, even in a comfortable win by the Texans. The Jaguars run defense deserves some recognition, and Pierce's value is still trending up after his team showed themselves to be much more competitive than expected. Consider him a flex play against the Steelers next week. [Back to Top](#top) [] 8. HOU: Outstanding game for Tank Dell [Source: ESPN.com](=) Houston Texans WR Tank Dell caught five passes for 145 yards and one touchdown against the Jacksonville Jaguars in Week 3. He was targeted seven times during the game. Our view: Dell reeled in two deep balls, one inside the five, and one long score that iced the game. He shouldn't be on any waiver wires, and against the Steelers next week, he should probably be in lineups. Dell has a chance to be the most valuable rookie receiver in redraft leagues if this connection with fellow rookie C.J. Stroud persists. [Back to Top](#top) [] 9. MIA: Tyreek Hill goes big yet again [Source: ESPN](=) Miami Dolphins RB Tyreek Hill finished with nine grabs for a game-high 157 yards and a touchdown on 11 targets in Week 3 against the Denver Broncos. Our view: This is becoming routine for Hill, who is the epitome of the old "you can't stop him, you can only hope to contain him". The Broncos didn't contain Hill today. The Bills will try to next week. [Back to Top](#top) [] 10. CLE: Amari Cooper hits triple digits [Source: ESPN](=) Cleveland Browns WR Amari Cooper ended up with seven receptions for 116 yards and a touchdown on eight targets in Week 3 against the Tennessee Titans. Our view: Cooper had a long score to ice the game and didn't seem to be bothered by the groin injury that popped up last week. Deshaun Watson is playing better and that's good enough to keep Cooper in lineups heading into a matchup with the Ravens. [Back to Top](#top) [] 11. JAX: Christian Kirk reaches end zone [Source: ESPN.com](=) Jacksonville Jaguars WR Christian Kirk caught four passes for 54 yards and one touchdown against the Houston Texans in Week 3. He was targeted six times during the game. Our view: Kirk's touchdown saved what would have been a big letdown on a day that was supposed to be big because Zay Jones was sitting and Kirk was facing a vulnerable Texans pass defense. We'll probably leave Kirk in as a WR3/Flex next week, but check practice reports for Jones' status. [Back to Top](#top) [] 12. NYJ: Breece Hall struggles in Week 3 [Source: ESPN.com](=) New York Jets RB Breece Hall rushed for 18 yards on 12 carries against the New England Patriots in Week 3. He also caught one pass for nine yards during the game. Our view: The Patriots overplayed the run today, so Hall didn't have a chance to be fantasy relevant. The Chiefs matchup next week is also terrible for his outlook, so consider putting a buy low offer out there for Hall. Remember his best games last year came with Zach Wilson at quarterback. [Back to Top](#top) [] 13. HOU: C.J. Stroud plays well in Week 3 [Source: ESPN.com](=) Houston Texans QB C.J. Stroud went 20-for-30 for 280 yards and two touchdowns against the Jacksonville Jaguars in Week 3. He also rushed for 14 yards on three carries during the game. Our view: Stroud didn't have to air it out because the Texans defense and special teams helped them lead for almost the entire game. He was still a good fantasy play and helped shut the door on the Jaguars with deep passing to fellow rookie Tank Dell. Stroud is shaping up as one of the best late round quarterback picks. He'll be tested by the Steelers pass rush next week. [Back to Top](#top) [] 14. DET: Jahmyr Gibbs productive in Week 3 [Source: ESPN.com](=) Detroit Lions RB Jahmyr Gibbs rushed for 80 yards on 17 carries against the Atlanta Falcons in Week 3. Our view: The Lions trusted Gibbs as the lead back, including on inside runs, with David Montgomery sitting because of a thigh injury. While it wasn't a big game for fantasy, Gibbs showing that he can be trusted and productive on the tough runs is a good thing for his long term value. He'll probably start again vs. the Packers with a short week of rest for the Thursday game, and he's worth an RB2/Flex slot in your lineup. [Back to Top](#top) [] 15. GB: Romeo Doubs gets into the end zone [Source: ESPN](=) Green Bay Packers WR Romeo Doubs posted five grabs for 73 yards and a touchdown on a game-high 12 targets in Week 3 against the New Orleans Saints. Our view: Doubs caught the game winning score on a trust throw from Jordan Love with perfect timing into tight coverage. Christian Watson may not be ready for Thursday night against the Lions and either way with Jordan Love shaking off a poor start to post a very strong finish, Doubs should be in consideration as a WR3/Flex next week. DEN: Russell Wilson goes over 300 yards [Source: ESPN](=) Denver Broncos QB Russell Wilson completed 23-of-38 passes for 306 yards, one touchdown and one interception in Week 3 against the Miami Dolphins, and he did not have any rushing attempts. Our view: Wilson had a solid fantasy day because he was playing against a prevent defense for most of it. He's set up to be a mild fantasy success because of how bad the Broncos defense is, but next week Denver faces the Bears in a game that should allow them to be conservative on offense. [Back to Top](#top) [] 17. LAC: Justin Herbert goes over 400 yards [Source: ESPN](=) Los Angeles Chargers QB Justin Herbert completed 40-of-47 passes for 405 yards, three touchdowns and no interceptions in Week 3 against the Minnesota Vikings. He set a career best with 26 first-half receptions, he has set the franchise record with 213 consecutive attempts and counting without an interception, and he is the second-fastest player in NFL history to reach 15,000 passing yards, in his 52nd career regular-season game. He is also the fourth-fastest player to reach the 100-touchdown mark. Our view: The Chargers went pass heavy even though they were successfully run heavy in Week 1 against Miami and the Eagles ran all over the Vikings last week. Herbert might be missing Mike Williams for a while, but his tight ends and #3 receiver picked up the slack. He's leveling off as a solid QB1 under the guidance of Kellen Moore. [Back to Top](#top) [] 18. NYJ: Garrett Wilson catches five passes [Source: ESPN.com](=) New York Jets WR Garrett Wilson caught five passes for 48 yards against the New England Patriots in Week 3. He was targeted nine times during the game. Our view: Wilson didn't break any big plays against a tough Patriots defense, so consider this a floor game. Expect more from Wilson next week in a game that should ask the Jets to throw a ton to try to keep up with Patrick Mahomes. [Back to Top](#top) [] 19. JAX: Travis Etienne productive in Week 3 [Source: ESPN.com](=) Jacksonville Jaguars RB Travis Etienne rushed for 88 yards on 19 carries against the Houston Texans in Week 3. He also caught four passes for 50 yards during the game. Our view: Unfortunately for Etienne'e fantasy teams, Tank Bigsby got the short touchdown run, which has already happened twice this year. The Texans defense did at least stick to their trend of giving up big games to opposing backfields. The Steelers will be up next for Houston, so perhaps we can get something out of a Pittsburgh back for fantasy. Etienne will face Atlanta and is still looking like a solid pick at ADP. [Back to Top](#top) [] 20. LAC: Joshua Kelley disappoints yet again [Source: ESPN](=) Los Angeles Chargers RB Joshua Kelley rushed 11 times for just 12 yards in his second straight start in place of the injured RB Austin Ekeler (ankle) in Week 3 against the Minnesota Vikings. He added a 5-yard catch on his lone target. Our view: Kelley did get a chance to score in short yardage, but the Vikings run defense came to life after being humiliated by the Eagles last week and the Chargers were doing a much better job moving the ball through the air. Even if Austin Ekeler doesn't play next week (the Chargers bye is in Week 5), Kelley is only a what the heck flex coming off of two duds as the starter. [Back to Top](#top) [] 21. BUF: James Cook goes over 100 total yards [Source: ESPN.com](=) Buffalo Bills RB James Cook rushed 15 times for 98 yards and caught two passes for 14 yards in a 37-3 win over the Washington Commanders in Week 3. Our view: Cook led Buffalo in touches and total yards in a solid performance. [Back to Top](#top) [] 22. MIN: Justin Jefferson has another big day [Source: ESPN](=) Minnesota Vikings WR Justin Jefferson finished the Week 3 game against the Los Angeles Chargers with seven receptions, 149 yards and a touchdown on 13 targets. He left the game briefly due to cramping, but was able to return and finish up. Our view: Jefferson also hauled in a game-high 52 yard reception in another strong outing. [Back to Top](#top) [] 23. NE: Ezekiel Elliott leads team in rushing [Source: ESPN.com](=) New England Patriots RB Ezekiel Elliott rushed for 80 yards on 16 carries against the New York Jets in Week 3. Our view: Elliott only got three fewer carries than Rhamondre Stevenson, and he was more productive than Stevenson. The first two games quelled fears that Elliott could make this a true committee, but a winning game script that allowed the Patriots to be more conservative showed a different approach to the backfield management. Elliott showed he's worth a roster spot in leagues with longer benches today. [Back to Top](#top) [] 24. MIA: Raheem Mostert totals four touchdowns [Source: ESPN](=) Miami Dolphins RB Raheem Mostert rushed 13 times for 82 yards and three touchdowns, while adding seven receptions for 60 yards and a score on his seven targets in Week 3 against the Kansas City Chiefs. Our view: Mostert had four touchdowns and he wasn't even the best fantasy running back on his team today. We'll probably never be able to say that again. There hasn't been a bigger value pick at running back so far this year. Mostert will take aim at the Bills next week. [Back to Top](#top) [] 25. MIA: Tua Tagovailoa tosses four touchdowns [Source: ESPN Stats and Information]( Miami Dolphins QB Tua Tagovailoa completed 23-of-26 passes for 309 yards, four touchdowns and no interceptions in Week 3 against the Denver Broncos, as the Dolphins posted a franchise-best 70 points. In fact, it was just the fourth 70-point game in NFL history including the playoffs. Our view: Tagovailoa was nearly flawless and exposed the Broncos defense. He would be drafted much higher in fantasy drafts held today, and is an everyweek start going forward. The Dolphins red hot offense will face the resurgent Bills defense in Buffalo next week. [Back to Top](#top) [] 26. CHI: Justin Fields woozy after rush attempt [Source: NFL on FOX](=) Chicago Bears QB Justin Fields (head) left the Week 3 game against the Kansas City Chiefs after appearing visibly shaken up after a hard hit on a rushing attempt in the red zone. WR DJ Moore actually grabbed him, and ushered the quarterback to the sideline. It was a tough day for Fields and the Chicago offense, as he completed just 6-of-16 passes for 42 yards, no touchdowns and an interception, while running 10 times for 46 yards, before departing. Our view: Fields and the Bears offense isn't just plateauing, it is regressing. The Chiefs defense will make a lot of offenses look bad this year, and at least the Bears are facing the Broncos at an even lower point in their season arc, but Fields is on fantasy benches until further notice. The good news if you have Fields is that this is identical to last year, and anyone who dropped Fields regretted it as he was a strong QB1 from Week 5 on. [Back to Top](#top) [] 27. CLE: Jerome Ford scores first NFL rushing TD [Source: ESPN](=) Cleveland Browns RB Jerome Ford rushed 10 times for just 18 yards in Week 3 against the Tennessee Titans, but he posted his first career rushing touchdown. He also added two receptions for 33 yards and a score on three targets. Our view: Ford was in on over half of the snaps got the key red zone touches, so this was a big success and reassuring if you spent a lot on him on the waiver wire. The Browns defense should allow them to stay balanced on offense, and Ford didn't do anything to discourage the team from keeping him as the lead back next week in a showdown with Baltimore. [Back to Top](#top) [] 28. LAC: Donald Parham Jr. has strange stat line [Source: ESPN](=) Los Angeles Chargers TE Donald Parham posted two receptions for just four yards on his two targets in Week 3 against the Minnesota Vikings, but both of the grabs were good for touchdowns. Our view: Parham made the most out of both his targets and catches. [Back to Top](#top) [] 29. DET: Amon-Ra St. Brown surpasses 100-yard mark [Source: ESPN.com](=) Detroit Lions WR Amon-Ra St. Brown caught nine passes for 102 yards against the Atlanta Falcons in Week 3. He was targeted 12 times during the game. Our view: St. Brown was questionable with a toe injury coming into this one, but you wouldn't know it from his fantasy production. He had yet another catch inside the five, but Jared Goff finished the drive with a run. Even though St. Brown has been on the injury report, you have to feel good about taking him in drafts through three weeks. We'll watch his practice reports heading into a short week of rest and Thursday game at Green Bay. [Back to Top](#top) That'll do it for today, Folks.
