CIN: Joe Burrow questionable for Week 3 [Source: Bengals.com](=) Cincinnati Bengals QB Joe Burrow (calf) was limited in practice for the second straight day on Saturday, Sept. 23, and is listed as questionable for Week 3. Our view: We may not see Burrow in the game against the Rams on Sunday. He hasn't looked right, and time off might be his best bet to get back on track this season. That means QB Jake Browning may be the Bengals starter. Downgrade your Bengals skill position players accordingly if Browning is the top guy on Monday night. It is worth noting though that Bengals writer Mike Petraglia reported Saturday, "Joe Burrow is out here at Saturday Bengals practice running and doing full warmup with high energy." At the very least, if Burrow is your best QB, give yourself Monday night pivot options if he's not able to go. [Back to Top](#top) [] 2. MIA: Jaylen Waddle ruled out [Source: NFL Network - Ian Rapoport]( Miami Dolphins WR Jaylen Waddle (concussion) was ruled out for the Week 3 game against the Denver Broncos on Saturday, Sept. 23. Our view: It's better to learn about this on Saturday night than Sunday morning. Be sure to remove Waddle from your Week 3 lineups. [Back to Top](#top) [] 3. LAR: Puka Nacua expected to play [Source: ESPN - Adam Schefter]() Los Angeles Rams WR Puka Nacua (oblique) will be listed as questionable for Week 3 but is expected to play, head coach Sean McVay said on Saturday, Sept. 23. Our view: Nacua has burst onto the scene in the first two weeks of the season. The rookie wideout has been one of the hottest waiver wire additions, and Fantasy GMs should consider him a WR1 against the Bengals in Week 3. [Back to Top](#top) [] 4. TEN: Derrick Henry expected to play [Source: TennesseeTitans.com]( Tennessee Titans RB Derrick Henry (toe) fully participated in practice Friday, Sept. 22, and is not on the injury report for Week 3. Our view: If Henry is out there, then Fantasy GMs are going to be starting him as per usual with RB1 expectations. A toe injury is painful and will come down to pain tolerance. The Titans may give rookie RB Tyjae Spears a few touches here and there to give Henry a breather. [Back to Top](#top) [] 5. MIN: Cam Akers' debut to wait a week [Source: Around The NFL]() Minnesota Vikings RB Cam Akers is not expected to be active for the Week 3 game against the Los Angeles Chargers, according to head coach Kevin O'Connell. Our view: We'll see one more week of Alexander Mattison as the starter. Behind him, Ty Chandler could get some work. Next week will be a big test for Mattison's hold on the starting job. Once Akers is up to speed - which shouldn't take long since O'Connell's offense is a Shanahan system like Sean McVay runs with the Rams - he could be the lead back for the Vikings. [Back to Top](#top) [] 6. BAL: Melvin Gordon elevated [Source: ESPN.com - Jeremy Fowler](=) Baltimore Ravens RB Melvin Gordon is being elevated from the practice squad for Week 3, per source on Saturday, Sept. 23. Our view: The Ravens are thin at the running back position - again - with Justice Hill (toe) banged up. Gordon is a seasoned veteran but not what he used to be. We'll see how much he gets worked into the mix behind starting RB Gus Edwards in Week 3. [Back to Top](#top) [] 7. WAS: Curtis Samuel good to go [Source: NFL Network - Ian Rapoport](=) Washington Commanders WR Curtis Samuel (illness, hip) was upgraded from questionable to no status for Week 3 on Saturday, Sept. 23. Our view: Samuel will be out there for the Commanders in Week 3. The offense has shown some flashes with young QB Sam Howell, but they've not yet hit their stride. That's good news for Samuel as he can do more when asked. Against the Bills in Week 3, we like Samuel as a 'what the heck' flex. [Back to Top](#top) [] 8. IND: Deon Jackson to be released [Source: NFL Network - Ian Rapoport](=) The Indianapolis Colts will release RB Deon Jackson, according to a source, and promote RB Trey Sermon from their practice squad for Week 3's game. Our view: Things change pretty quickly around here. Jackson started for the Colts in Week 1, but in Week 2 he didn't get a single offensive snap. He's likely to return to the team's practice squad. Sermon flashed in the preseason with the Eagles, but his pro career has been disappointing so far. [Back to Top](#top) Week 3 Start/Sit Advice - Live Q&A Join Dave Kluge, Alfredo Brown & Adam Hutchison at 11:30 AM ET as they answer your Sunday morning Start/Sit questions and help you set the perfect lineup for Week 3 of the fantasy football season! They'll be giving you up-to-the-minute injury reports and personalized advice for YOUR lineup! [Watch On YouTube 👉]( [] 9. SF: Deebo Samuel nursing rib injury [Source: Around The NFL]() San Francisco 49ers WR Deebo Samuel (ribs) injured his ribs against the New York Giants in Week 3. Tests revealed no breaks, according to head coach Kyle Shanahan, and Shanahan said Samuel is 'pretty sore' and considered day-to-day. Our view: Samuel plays with little regard for his personal safety. He was extending plays by blasting through the Giants' defense on Thursday night. Now a bit banged up, Samuel has over a week to get ready for the 49ers' next game. They are at home to take on the Cardinals in Week 4. We'll know more about Samuel's status next week. [Back to Top](#top) [] 10. NO: Jamaal Williams sent to IR [Source: ESPN - Adam Schefter](=) New Orleans Saints RB Jamaal Williams (hamstring) was placed on the Reserve/Injured list Saturday, Sept. 23. Our view: Williams had already been ruled out for Week 3, but now he can't return before Week 7. [B10ck to Top](#top) [] 11. CLE: Browns work out several players [Source: Click2Houston.com - Aaron Wilson]() Free-agent TE Devin Asiasi (Bengals), QB Anthony A. Brown (Ravens), WR James Proche (Ravens), RB Jacob Saylors (Bengals), RB Zavier Scott (Colts) and WR Shi Smith (Panthers) worked out for the Cleveland Browns on Saturday, Sept. 23. Our view: The Browns are just updating their emergency list here. If signed, we'll monitor these skill position players - but only in super crazy deep dynasty formats. [Back to Top](#top) [] 12. LVR: Jakobi Meyers not on injury report [Source: Raiders.com - Rachel Gossen]( Las Vegas Raiders WR Jakobi Meyers (concussion) fully participated in practice Friday, Sept. 22, and is not on the injury report for Week 3. Our view: Meyers looked great in Week 1 against the Broncos before getting knocked out by S Kareem Jackson. He missed Week 2, but now through the concussion protocol, he's ready to get back out there. Meyers should be considered a WR3/flex play against the Steelers in Week 3. [Back to Top](#top) [] 13. CIN: AJ McCarron signs to practice squad [Source: NFL Network - Ian Rapoport](=) Free-agent QB AJ McCarron (Falcons) is signing to the Cincinnati Bengals' practice squad, per source on Saturday, Sept. 23. Our view: McCarron worked out for them and signed to the practice squad, so that may give us clues about whether starting QB Joe Burrow will play against the Rams. Burrow has a calf injury, and it's clear that he's not himself. The team could start Jake Browning in Week 3, and that's not great for the skill position players or the team's outlook on Sunday. [Back to Top](#top) [] 14. SF: New deals with John Lynch, Kyle Shanahan [Source: NFL.com - Nick Shook]( San Francisco 49ers general manager John Lynch and head coach Kyle Shanahan signed multi-year contract extensions with the 49ers Friday, Sept. 22. Terms of the extensions were not disclosed. Our view: The 49ers are set with Shanahan and Lynch running the show. They've been extremely competitive over the years once Shanahan and Lynch got their players in place. Shanahan has been able to craft an offense that can put up points and move the ball even though the team has gone through many quarterbacks to get there. So long as Shanahan is coaching and Lynch is putting the roster together, the 49ers should be perennial playoff teams with the ability to push for Super Bowls. [Back to Top](#top) That'll do it for today, Folks. Thanks for reading and thanks for being part of the Footballguys Family. Have a great Sunday and I hope all the bounces go your way.
