One of my favorite things about the NFL season is once it starts, it rolls quickly. You barely have time to digest the Monday night game and you're prepping for Thursday. Love it. We've got the News and Notes you need plus a sweet look at the Injury Recap situation. Let's Go. J What's New At Footballguys - [Monday Injury Report Week 3]() - Every Monday our Adam Hutchison summarizes the major injuries from Sunday's games. CIN: Joe Burrow unsure for Week 3 [Source: ESPN - Adam Schefter](=) Cincinnati Bengals QB Joe Burrow (calf) is still in the evaluation process after aggravating his calf injury in Week 2, per sources Monday, Sept. 18. Our view: There is a chance that Burrow is shut down for a bit of time. He's not looked the same since suffering this calf injury earlier this year. In two games, he does not look like the Burrow we know and love. Let's see what his practice status is like during the week. [Back to Top](#top) [] 2. NYG: Saquon Barkley expected to miss a few weeks [Source: ESPN - Adam Schefter]() New York Giants RB Saquon Barkley (ankle) is expected to be sidelined for three weeks after an MRI revealed an ankle sprain, according to a source. Our view: Rough news for Barkley and the Giants here. Hopefully, Barkley could return sooner than three weeks but we'll see how that goes. [Back to Top](#top) [] 3. MIA: Jaylen Waddle in protocol [Source: ESPN - Adam Schefter](=) Miami Dolphins WR Jaylen Waddle (concussion) is in the concussion protocol, per sources Monday, Sept. 18. Our view: The Dolphins are at home against the Broncos in Week 3. Waddle must go through the protocol before he's cleared to play. That means he will be out or limited during the week. We'll see what he can do on Friday. [Back to Top](#top) [] 4. IND: Anthony Richardson in protocol [Source: 1070 The Fan - Kevin Bowen]( Indianapolis Colts QB Anthony Richardson (concussion) is in the concussion protocol, per sources Monday, Sept. 18. Our view: Richardson has flashed over the first two weeks of the season. Before he was hurt in Week 2, Richardson was balling with two rushing touchdowns. We'll see if he can be cleared to play in Week 3. The Colts have veteran Gardner Minshew if Richardson has to miss time. [Back to Top](#top) [] 5. DET: David Montgomery likely out? [Source: ESPN - Adam Schefter]() Detroit Lions RB David Montgomery (quadriceps) said it would take a couple of weeks for his quad injury to heal. Our view: Montgomery may be day-to-day with this quad injury, but he might not be able to play in Week 3. That means Jahmyr Gibbs and Craig Reynolds will be tasked with doing more if Montgomery is out. [Back to Top](#top) [] 6. LVR: Davante Adams checked for concussion [Source: NFL.com]() Las Vegas Raiders WR Davante Adams (head) was evaluated for a concussion after the Week 2 game. Our view: Adams caught 6-of-8 targets for 84 yards and a touchdown in the Raiders' Week 2 loss to the Bills. He should be fine, and reports do not indicate that he's in the concussion protocol. Adams should be good to go for a Week 3 matchup against the Steelers. [Back to Top](#top) The best things sent in the Footballguys Group Chat today: - 🤠That’s a lot of points. DAL: Ronald Jones let go [Source: The Dallas Morning News - Michael Gehlken]( Dallas Cowboys RB Ronald Jones was released Monday, Sept. 18. Our view: The team can move on from Jones because they have Rico Dowdle and rookie Duece Vaughn behind starter Tony Pollard. Jones is a seasoned veteran who should get interest from another team, although it might take some time to get him a new spot. [Back to Top](#top) [] 8. PIT: Diontae Johnson on IR [Source: Steelers.com - Teresa Varley]( Pittsburgh Steelers WR Diontae Johnson (hamstring) was placed on the Reserve/Injured list Monday, Sept. 18. Our view: Johnson now has to miss the next four games, and he's not eligible to return until Week 7. This will give him plenty of time to recover from a hamstring injury that can linger. The Steelers will turn to George Pickens, Allen Robinson, and Calvin Austin. [Back to Top](#top) [] 9. BAL: Odell Beckham Jr. hobbled [Source: NFL Network - Ian Rapoport](=) Baltimore Ravens WR Odell Beckham Jr. (ankle) has an ankle injury that isn't expected to force him to miss time. Our view: Beckham will likely be limited this week in practice. Fantasy GMs need to check back on Friday to see if the veteran was able to get in at least some practice time. The Ravens are at home to face the Colts in Week 3. [Back to Top](#top) [] 10. LVR: Jakobi Meyers progressing [Source: ESPN.com - Field Yates]() Las Vegas Raiders WR Jakobi Meyers (concussion) is heading in the right direction as he progresses through the concussion protocol, per sources Monday, Sept. 18. Our view: Meyers was outstanding in Week 1 against the Broncos before suffering the concussion. We'll be considering him as a flex play when he's out there for the Raiders this year, with a chance for him to produce more. [Back to Top](#top) [] 11. TB: Chase Edmonds having MRI on knee [Source: NFL Network - Ian Rapoport](=) Tampa Bay Buccaneers RB Chase Edmonds (knee) is having an MRI on his knee Monday, Sept. 18, with the focus on his medial collateral ligament. Our view: The Buccaneers are rolling, and RB Rachaad White has been productive as their featured back. Behind him, rookie Sean Tucker is a player we're monitoring closely in dynasty formats. Without Edmonds out there, the Bucs could also turn to Ke'Shawn Vaughn when White needs a breather. [Back to Top](#top) That'll do it for today, Folks.
