NYJ: Aaron Rodgers out for season [Source: NFL Network - Tom Pelissero]() Updating previous reports, New York Jets QB Aaron Rodgers (Achilles') suffered a complete tear of his left Achilles' and will miss the rest of the season. Our view: Zach Wilson takes over as the Jets' starter. Rodgers was supposed to be the answer, and now he'll miss the 2023 season and try to get back out there in 2024. It's a sad injury considering Rodgers seemed reenergized to be playing for a new team after things got stale with the Packers. There is a chance that Rodgers hangs up his cleats, but that's getting too far ahead of things. For now, Zach Wilson is the Jets' starter and this is a downgrade for pass-catchers in this offense like WR Garrett Wilson. [Back to Top](#top) [] 2. LAC: Ankle issue for Austin Ekeler [Source: ESPN - Adam Schefter]() Los Angeles Chargers RB Austin Ekeler (ankle) is dealing with an ankle injury and his practice participation this week is uncertain, according to head coach Brandon Staley. Our view: Let's see how much time Ekeler has to miss, but the projections are that he could miss at least one week. That means RB Joshua Kelley should be picked up if he's out there on your waiver wire. Kelley had 16 carries for 91 yards and a touchdown against the Dolphins in Week 1. [Back to Top](#top) [] 3. GB: Green Bay receiving second-rounder [Source: ESPN - Adam Schefter](=) New York Jets QB Aaron Rodgers (Achilles') being done for the season means the Jets will owe the Green Bay Packers a second-round pick in 2024. It would have been a first-round pick if Rodgers played 65 percent of the snaps. Our view: The Packers moved on from Rodgers, and we'll see what Jordan Love continues to do as their new starter. The sting of Rodgers' injury is felt more than just in New York, as a first-round pick - even a mid- or late-first - would have been nice to receive for his services. [Back to Top](#top) [] 4. DEN: Greg Dulcich out several weeks [Source: ESPN - Adam Schefter]() Denver Broncos TE Greg Dulcich (hamstring) will be out several weeks after injuring the same hamstring that cost him seven games last season. Our view: Dulcich has hamstring problems, and they popped back up in Week 1 against the Raiders. He was going to be a big part of their red-zone offense, and now they'll have to turn to TE Adam Trautman more often when they get inside the 20-yard line. [Back to Top](#top) [] 5. PIT: Diontae Johnson out a few weeks [Source: ESPN - Adam Schefter]() Pittsburgh Steelers WR Diontae Johnson (hamstring) is expected to miss a few weeks due to his hamstring injury. Our view: Johnson is going to miss a few games, and the Steelers are going to adjust their target structure for QB Kenny Pickett. This will include plenty of Allen Robinson and George Pickens going forward. We'll see Calvin Austin get more work as well with Johnson out of action. [Back to Top](#top) The best things sent in the Footballguys Group Chat today: - 😳 Of course, Tom Brady can hoop. [Now he’s just showing off.]( - 🍺 A Wisconsin bar offered free drinks if the Jets lost. [Things didn’t go as planned.]( - 😬 It’s going to be a very long season for [Jets fans.](=) - 🎯 BOOM! Derek Carr called his [shot against the Titans.](=) - 😅 Don’t worry, Giants, [you’ll score eventually…maybe.]() [] 6. NYG: Andre Roberts working out for Giants [Source: NFL Network - Ian Rapoport](=) Free-agent WR Andre Roberts (Panthers) is working out with the New York Giants Tuesday, Sept. 12. Our view: The Giants are updating their emergency list here. They've got plenty of injuries at the wide receiver position, and Roberts played under Brian Daboll back when they were both with the Bills. We'll see if they add him in the near future as Roberts can help on offense and on special teams. [Back to Top](#top) [] 7. ARI: Joshua Dobbs to receive another start [Source: NFL.com]() Arizona Cardinals QB Joshua Dobbs will be the starting quarterback for the Cardinals in Week 2, according to head coach Jonathan Gannon. Our view: Dobbs was decent as the starter in Week 1 against the Commanders. He's not an exciting fantasy option, but so far the team likes what they see from the veteran.
